Active (battery powered) ultra wide band tags (chips) are the only real option here (and what they have tried) and the tags RF signal is not emmitted with enough power (signal strength) to travel through the human body which is primarily liquid. Metal and liquid present significant challenges in "reading" RFID tags, bounce, reflection, absorption, etc. create a very unreliable read/location with the current technology available. What you are describing might be possible on a larger object, but definitely not a football that is being smothered by multiple humans.

There are some additional technologies such as cameras (many, many cameras) when combined RFID for triangulation purposes that may end being advanced enough to someday make this a reality, but not likely.

Three swords in fencing. Foil, Sabre and my favorite, Epee. Epee is more freewheeling and requires more skill to defend. I greatly enjoyed fencing as I am left handed and that made me harder to defend for right handed folks. (Left handed folks are so used to things right handed that right handed opponents are our norm).

Your definition of sports is pretty limited.

Then I looked at the other inductees, which included Bill Brooks (who I honestly don't even remember) and the fans -- the fans occupy a spot on their Ring of Honor.

Excellent -- if true, the opposing coach should be challenging the spot and when the official comes over, the coach needs to tell the referee that the player's forward progress was stopped, and the play should have been blown dead at that point. That's an intelligent argument and -- again -- not hard to officiate. The video review would show the overhead view and easily see where Hurts' forward progress is stopped.

IDGAF how Bill Walsh envisioned the game. With respect to forward progress, the argument just can't be that he was pushed. That is the deal, he is allowed to be pushed. The question about forward progress is whether he was restrained. The other issue is that it's within the discretion of the official. It's not blown dead until it is blown dead. It's not like they can rule his forward progress ended somewhere short of where the whistle was blown unless he was otherwise down by contact.

Honestly forgot about Bills

Somehow the Cards and 49ers are the only other matchup of 2-0 teams this weekend.

After a pretty good week 1, there haven't been a lot of marquee games.

Last week was basically just Chiefs-Eagles.

This week it's Rams-Eagles and Lions-Ravens on MNF.

Thats it. If you go back and look at last week and this week, tell me how many of these games are actually compelling at all.
