Would technically be trilateration but otherwise spot on. IMUs and active tags in the ball are an option (albeit costly) but any solution without a ton of antennas embedded in the turf would still be half baked. Machine vision cameras are used in soccer (VAR for offsides and goal determination) but there's just too many edge cases in football where occlusion renders them useless. It's a tough nut to crack even with the latest technology, it's not just an unwilling governing body that's slow to adopt methods to improve officiating.

One of these days AJ or Devonta are going to fake a block, spring free down field and Barkley is going to throw it to one of them for a huge play. It baffles me that they don't do it more often. They ran that fake deep pass to AJ in the Green Bay playoff game out of it, but that was pretty much it. I think they ran a fake a couple of times to Swift back in 2023. But they can come up with an entire package of fake plays out of that formation. Whether it's hitting the TE on a leak route, deep shot to DeVonta or AJ, an end around to a receiver motioning across the formation, a pitch to Saquon, etc. It would really start to F with teams.

I would love some mid 80s right now. We’ve had a rather mild summer but mid 90s this week has not been very pleasant. We’ve had only 5 days 100 or more this year, we had 71 days 100 or more in 2011…practices and games on turf with anything above 90 is brutal. Amazing what we could withstand as kids in that heat.

With such a small sample size in week 2 it’s mainly based on both weeks this early. And beating the Bears isn’t that impressive.
