September 17Sep 17 I really am excited to see the defense develop and grow the next few months. I think we have the best pair of LBs in the NFL and studs in all the other positions. Campbell is already looking like a future All Pro. Want the offense to get early leads because this Dline is full of pass rushers and if JD can keep up his pass rush, then just damn. JD has been outstanding so far this year.

Fencing, wrestling, boxing there's a grey area... it has some 'objective' scoring, but people argue about the scoring all the time. There's clearly an offense and defense... and the tip of the foil, shoulders, gloves could fit into the 'ball' category, because that's how you 'score' in those activities. Why would baseball not be a sport by that definition? Which element is it missing? And yes, its controversial, especially to fans of 'non-sports' by that definition. But, I posit that its a much better definition than most out there.BTW, golf wouldn't qualify either. And I'm perfectly fine with that.Anything that the product can be labeled ‘game’ or ‘match’…potentially a couple other words that escape me - sports. Basically anything with a clear opposition, not judges, not subjectiveness. 1v1, whether team or individual. Heck darts and bowling I’ll include in there. Curling…The rest are competitions, which i think you can label as sports adjacent. (Golf, chess, weight lifting included…where you’re essentially competing against a field for a ‘top spot’)Then you get into fringe stuff like cheerleader (activity, though they do have ‘competitions’), the WNBA, and body building.

I greatly enjoyed fencing as I am left handed and that made me harder to defend for right handed folks. (Left handed folks are so used to things right handed that right handed opponents are our norm).Your definition of sports is pretty limited. One of my favorite things when i was stationed at the AF academy when i worked night shift was doing walk throughs of the ‘sports’ facilities. One night showing around one of the new guys who i was training as my replacement shift chief so i could take over the whole ops section we went through the fencing area…figured out how to turn on the cable and detection system. We didn’t want to full blown mess with stuff, but it was pretty cool. Then we went to the indoor football practice facility (often used by NFL teams when they travel to Denver), kicked field goals and played with the jug machines. I’ve also made phone calls from Coach Calhoun’s office phone because cell service in those dungeons is spotty if you’re not on their WiFi.

Dude is a baller…we are good for whenever age catches up to Baun in the next year or 2.

September 18Sep 18 I’m not making fun of an injury, it sucks. But it’s funny to see "a key depth piece” for someone else couldn’t even make it past final cuts here. Really make you appreciate what we’ve had for a long time.

Thoughts? Then no sport is objective. My point was the SCORING is to be objective, and it is. Tennis would absolutely be a sport by my definition. Why wouldn't it be? Scoring is objective. There is an offense (sometimes you are going for the kill shot) and defense (sometimes you are just trying to get the ball back over the net), a ball, and it requires athleticism (human locomotion).

He just can't come back before then. But that injury... he'll be lucky to be on the field this year at full speed/strength.

Seems like he isnt getting to the second level?
