I can’t believe the Browns beat the Packers. Thought the Pack looked like the clear cut best team in the league after the first two weeks and the Browns may not score 20+ points all season.

That is great for us considering we ideally do not want to go to Lambeau in January.

I will say this about the Browns, I actually think their defense is good. You look at the ravens game and they gave up 41. But 21 of them came in the fourth quarter when they were completely gassed because the offense hadn’t done anything for most of the game.

I don’t know what exactly to make of the NFC. I think the Eagles are still the best team if their offense looks like it did in the second half. I still think the Rams are likely the biggest threat to the Eagles. I think the Packers go with how Jordan Love goes. Tampa Bay to me is a wild card. Cause I think they’re good, but they’ve also escaped every single week coming from behind. I don’t think any of the teams they’ve played so far are very good. Minnesota also wild card cause i think jj is going to have ups and downs of learning curve. But it might just be wentz if they get on a roll with him. I’m also unsure if the lions. Beat up a bad bears team and got smoked by the packers.

As for the afc, i think it’s the bills to lose. Their schedule is really fortuitous this year. Tbh i think it’s a fascinating matchup if chargers face them in the playoffs. If chargers have to go to buffalo i don’t think they win that game. I have the ravens there with them. I do think chiefs once they get rice back will be better. Way down the road but could have a divisional round of bills/chiefs a ravens/chargers. I think colts are a cool story but i also don’t think they are in the same level as ravens, chargers and bills. They have the rams next week so that’s a good litmus test.

My thoughts on the game...

  • I think it's galaxy brained to not blame Patullo for 10 straight quarters of no AJ Brown. When your answer to fixing a stalling offense is more Calcaterra/Granson instead of the top 5 WR - that's just a straight up dumb coach. Hopefully the 2H smartened him up, but this situation has Doug/Press Taylor written all over it.

  • Jordan Davis and Zack Baun - wow. Huge play after huge play from both guys. So great to see the light come on for JD.

  • Up until the blocked kicks, Michael Clay was the goat of the game behind Patullo. Muff after muff after muff. No adjustments. Put a struggling offense in a terrible situation, again and again.

  • Saquon is still Saquon, he's just not getting the holes he got last year.

  • Eagles are something like 17-0 the last 17 Hurts has started and finished. Yes, the talent on this team is absurd, yes Fangio has been a revelation. But when you watch McVay turtle up and kick FGs instead of trying to stomp us out - it just puts into perspective that Hurts/Sirianni just know how to win games. We had no business winning this game, and I don't think a truly great coach on the other side would have let us.

  • Am I crazy, or is Jalyx Hunt becoming the king of the almost sack? He has the length and speed to finish - seems like he's getting close.

  • I never wanna see Matt Pryor at OT ever again

That was partially due to the ineptitude of the offense and partially our kickoffs were terrible so we started in less than ideal field positions

That was bananas! The KRs were so bad I would have thought the coaches would simply ask if anyone felt like they could field it, they would have said SURE, get in there!

Feels great waking up after that comeback. We've had a few like that over the years but not many. The DeSean walkoff is the classic but my favorite is the Randall 5TD game against the Skins with the Riggs fumble and long return after the lateral under 2mins in RFK.

btw - Those kickoffs were crazy hard to handle and we never seemed to get a nice bounce off the turf. I don't want to excuse the returners but I don't think anyone was going to cleanly field them consistently. You'd have hoped we would have been able to corral half of them in any case. Those things plus the Lane/Pryor debacle really put us behind the 8-ball in the 1st half.

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing all the "Hurts isn't good enough" crap again this week.

Five drives (not counting the kneel down to end the 1st half) with Pryor were four 3 and outs and 1 sack/fumble over Pryor and the total yardage for those five drives combined was -9

Supposedly they have Johnson backing up only LT in practice as he learns the new offense under Patullo.

The offense shouldn't be that new with an internal hire and 10 returning starters.

I liked the Falcons as a sneaky team that could win their division and a playoff game or two but they get steamrolled by the crappy Panthers yesterday. Still lots of ball to play

We'll find out more about the Lions Tonight, their interior line is all new and it clearly wasn't bedded in against the Packers first game up, but then they dumped 50 on the Bears who went on to take down the Cowboys pretty easily, if the Lions can give the Ravens a game then the Packers game looks like an early season blip. The Buccaneers have been squeaking wins against opponents with a combined record of 1-8 and I don't think that's sustainable, that said Todd Bowels seems to have our number especially in Tampa and we're on a long winning run (bad feeling about this one boss), I think the Packers are paper tigers who got a lot of smoke blown up their ass for a opening win because they made a blockbuster trade, they weren't just a pass rusher away from being a championship team last year and judging by that performance against the Browns they still ain't a Championship team. Minnesota will bring back McCarthy and go nowhere as he proves he isn't quite up to the NFL.

In the AFC, The Bills look good again, and they don't look to be facing any contenders on the road this year apart from maybe the Steelers, which is where they usually faceplant so perhaps they finally get over the hump if they can secure the 1 seed this year and play the Ravens / Chiefs in Buffalo in January. The Ravens have a rough opening 6 with the Bills, Lions, Chiefs and Rams, then they finish with Packers and Steelers on the road, they already lost to the Bills so I don't see them catching up given the relative schedules.

The other thing I love about yesterday's game....the Rams were sooooooo full of themselves, clowning on the sideline, in the endzone when they were up.....that must have been one loooooooooooooong flight home.

Just to be Captain obvious the next game will be very telling for Patullo and Eagles O.

Yeah, it looked like the original plan was more of the same plus some QB runs mixed in and 11 vs 12 personnel, but Lane going down and Pryor going in scuttled that.

Throwing 33 times is a bit more than I want, but with Saquon bottled up Jalen is going to have make up that production without turning the ball over.

The next step would be an aggressive enough passing game, so that defenses can’t key so heavily on Saquon - in any case, the OL/scheme doesn’t seem to have the ability to dictate the run like in previous seasons.

Some combination of Eagles D and McVay lacking the cajones on 4th and shorts kept us in the game

McVay is like the anti-Nick. He’s a very good coach, knows his X’s and O’s, photographic memory, cerebral, etc. But has no guts and is as conservative as it gets. Nick, on the other hand, just lets it roll for better or worse.

Eagles fans on X are now showing other missed calls from games to highlight the hysteria about the shove

I don't think the NFL are ready for the level of scrutiny that will come on officiating if they don't let it lie on the shove. Adams pushed off on his TD, other teams false start, etc. Do they really want to start this war over their own bruised pride? It won't end well for the sport

I know a couple of posters on here said it already and I was thinking the exact same thing, on Jordan's block.....the way I saw it, even if he didn't block it....I think it would have been like 20 yards left of the goal post. Now maybe it was the angle of the camera.....but I think with them blocking the other kick, the kicker absolutely was scared of middle pressure again.

Welp, they won one that they shouldn't have, so, in all likelihood, they'll probably lose one that they shouldn't. Even Steven, so to speak. 😎

Who's better, the NFC West or NFC North? I know it's early, but some good teams in both Divisions.

The schedule before the year looked crazy hard.

3 of the games we played were supposed to be hard ones. And, we are 3-0.

Dallas had high hopes with Dak back and a new WR and new RBs.

Chiefs in week 2 AT Arrowhead. Superbowl rematch before the team is really humming on all cylinders.

Rams revenge game week 3.

Eagles are 3-0 and hopefully yesterday was a sign that they are beginning to come together. Theyve shown themselves to be a resilient team again. Now they have to complete the process of forming an identity on offense.

Mahomes throws his second backwards fumble...

I didn't watch much of the game but I happened to have it on for this play. Pretty sure CC was rubbing one off in the booth. I mean it's easily the best play of the year so far right?

I can sum it up this way.

Nick trusts his players to make a play when they need it.

McVay trusts his system to work.

At the end of the day, the Eagles won that game, because the Eagles' players made the plays to win. Meanwhile, the Rams' players did not.

The big difference in the run game so far is that Steen, while a fine player, is simply not the monster that Becton was. Live with it and move on.

Doesn't help that they telegraph their plays too. They run right 99% of the times.

It's time to sit Dickerson so he gets healthy. He's becoming more of a liability each game. Yes, he's tough, but he just had knee surgery and has an aching back. Let him get a week or two.

A note on the Rams. You could see a lack of mental strength yesterday; all great when they were doing well. But the players went quiet and the coaches looked afraid.. Fair to say, the Eagles are very much in their dreams, and they aren't good dreams

The NFL for being as big and as successful as it is, really isn't a greatly run organization that actually has their finger on the pulse of the fans. They succeed, not because of the business acumen of their leadership, but because America loves the sport of football (same can be said about the NCAA!)

Wait, is that Maria Taylor? She doesn't look bad at all, but damn, that's a different woman than the one who wears makeup on set.
