Luckily Davis is signed through the 2026 season and Carter through 2027. I am not worrying about it this season.

But we need something to be worried about after a win. Duh!

Discussion about retaining the teams best players isn't worrying. I'm more worried that Howie traded 3 draft picks for 2 guys who can't catch a kickoff. I like both players a lot, but it's worrisome that they both had the exact same issue. Field position was a huge battle for the entire game.

I clipped this from a video the Eagles just posted.

What an epic image of joy.

He’ll have to win 6 in a row to pass Lombardi (9-0 on the season). One loss means he’d have to go 9-1 (12-1 through 13 games) to pass Lombardi

Jordan Davis is creating a dilemma. I can’t see any way we sign both him and Carter to a 2nd contract.

You can make it work if you eliminate the middle class and keep on churning out production from low cost vets and draftees. This year CB2 is an issue, next year CB2/S2/TE1, the next year after that CB2/S2/TE1/OG2/LB2, etc.

He needs two more Super Bowls to pass Lombardi in what really matters.

Goddammit!

I trust that the ST coach that just schemed up two blocked kicks will get that fixed.

Pryor looked like he could hardly move, he was a slug out there. His technique is to either stand in the way or try to push the defender beyond the pocket as they speed rush by. He sadly couldn't do either, and I have no clue why they even let him go back out there after half time.

Why is there a player like Pryor on the team that can't play tackle at all, can't communicate to Barkley which rusher hes taking, etc.? Fred hops right in there, at a position he doesn't play, and is perfectly fine, and you see him communicating to Barkely which rusher hes getting so Barkely can pick up the correct guy in pass pro. I think this is the first time I've ever seriously questioned Stoutland, but what the hell was that?!?

That IS a position that Fred has played and has played with the Eagles. He played quite a number of snaps at RT last season for the Eagles. He was the swing OT for this team last year.

First time I've seen from this angle and I never realized how much they completely blew up that left side of the line. They definitely saw something there on film and exposed it multiple times.

The LG was an undrafted free agent, not sure if he was a rookie or not. The sad part for me was that I was expecting to see that level of domination of that player on the regular against their offense as well, but it just never really happened. That was the biggest take away for me. They should have feasted on him and they didn't, other than those FGs.

For a long time the term "game manager" has been used as kind of a slur for mediocre QBs who are propped up by good teams. I like to view it more as a QB skill set that's every bit as important as things like arm strength, rushing ability, accuracy etc. Knowing when to audible, when to take a shot down field, when to throw it away, when to get out of bounds, when to secure the ball instead of reach for another 2 yards, when to make the risky throw.

Hurts has a high-end game manager skillet in addition to his other strengths. I'd argue that goes a long way towards winning games like this. Someone like Jordan Love is on the opposite end of the spectrum here. Talented but makes some really dumb choices that can lose them any game.

Just Monday morning musings.

Look at this bozo, he's actually taking a video - are you really going to watch that again as a Rams fan!? WHY?

Honestly if that was me I'd be taking a picture to send out a "F my life" text to all my friends and family. So I get it.

Davis block was amazing, but to me the clutch play of the game was Hurts perfect pass to Smith running a perfect route on 4th and goal, 1:48 to play and Eagles with only 2 time outs. If they don't convert there, game over. That was the definition of clutch. Capping off a 91 yard drive with two 3rd and 10 conversions.

Yeah, I'm not buying this narrative that this was some lucky win or a game we shouldn't have won.

I'm also not buying that it was like a 2023 win.

It was none of those. This team finally played their game in the 2nd half and dominated another inferior team.

The only reason the game was close (along with KC and DAL games) was because of the Eagles. Not because of anything else.

This team is a top 2 or 3 team in the league still, and maybe not 2 or 3.

Nothing about this comeback victory was a fluke.

Fluke? No. Fortunate? Yes. When you only play football for 30 minutes, its hard to beat ANY team that's played all 60. The reason the Eagles were fortunate is because McVay didn't put his foot on their throat in the first half to kill them when he had the chance. He kicked FGs multiple times in situations that the Eagles would have gone for it... and even if they only converted on 2 of the 4 opportunities, that's still an extra point each time they succeeded, assuming they made the PAT. That makes the score for the Rams 28, not 27. Going to halftime at 19-7 versus 21-7 (or potentially 28-7) was a very different mindset for the Eagles. Those FGs were 'wins' for the Eagles and kept the game close enough for their second half effort to be enough.

It was the only place he could have gone with the ball too. Clutch as they come.

Clutch play of the game was swapping Johnson for Pryor honestly.

Apparently that kicker kicks these knuckleballs that are different. They knew about it but obviously didn't/couldn't prepare

Barkley didn't have a good game but a clutch was that 3rd and 3 at about the 8 where they had him dead behind the line and he spun away got to the 3 or 4 for a 1st down before that final set of downs. If he gets tackled they are facing a 4th and 5 at the 10 or so

The first 2 field goals they took were on 4th and 6 and 4th and 10, Sirianni isn't going for that first half unless they're in a deep hole on the scoreboard, the last 2 were 4th and 3 and 4th and 2 with the lead, again I think most coaches take the safe points if they're already leading.

A win this week would be huge. Another tie-breaker over a conference foe. Also, the schedule softens afterwards.

Host the 1-2 Broncos, at the winless Giants, at the QB-questionable Vikings, then host the Giants before the bye.

8-0 or even 7-1 at the bye would be great.
