Monday at 05:06 PM4 days yup....the Eagles need to reflect on the offensive scheme and adjust. As much damage as Chip Kelly did in his time here, it was basic calculus of offensive scheming that has always resonated with me. Use the formations and motion to determine the defensive tendencies pre snap and then do the basic math. If we have more players at the line than the other team, we run....If they have more players at the line than we do, we pass. Running multiple options from a basic formation all based on this simple calculus just makes so much sense. Kelly was particularly good at scheming in small area space...creating 4-3 or 3-2 advantages and exploiting them. I am sometimes stunned at how far away we are from it now. It was evident yesterday, but last week was ridiculous when the Eagles were running Saquon directly into an 8-9 man box...it was mindless.
Monday at 05:11 PM4 days This was lost with the dramatics of the end of the game. And to be clear, this is not complaining. But what the hell was Sirianni thinking calling a timeout with 18 seconds left after a Rams first down?

Q, Coop, Jackson, Reed and Mukuba in the back. Basically, one of the LBs at a minimum is going to be coming as a DE, but you don't know which one.

The offense looks a lot better when we start throwing the ball to AJ Brown.Chris Long kind of touched on what I said yesterday. You’re not 2024 Eagles. Teams have adapted and adjusted. You are not going to be able to just be the 2024 Eagles and win the same way with the same identity. So you have to be your own new identity. I thought yesterday after being down 3 scores they couldn’t just be Barkley rid for 2K and passing game just be efficient. they figured out their identity is really good when they Fing get the ball to AJ Brown. The truth is that the Eagles need to utilize all of it and stick to countering what the defensive gives them. They should never be going into any game believing that this will be a AJ/Devonte game or a Saqoun game...they need it all...and there are actually three pieces to it including Hurts. The Super Bowl was won decisively because the Chiefs tried to take two away, but forgot about Hurts' ability to run. In the 2nd half yesterday we saw how spreading the formation and throwing downfield stretched the defense and everything became more efficient....this is not rocket science.

We saw through two and a half games that it wasn't working and he didn't adjust to crap. For 10 quarters he drove like this lady. The second half it was like they had a race car driver and people are like it's the same person

The only logical one I can come up with is the defense was winded and they needed a breather. Even then it's dumb though. I think it was just a panic coaching decision and he thought somehow he could get the ball back with chance for one play if they made the kick.

Rams were going to settle for a 50ish yard FG if he didn’t call that timeout.

Monday at 05:20 PM4 days Still no defensive snaps for Ty Robinson. I thought he'd be a steady piece of the rotation. The DL still hasn't been figured out.

Still might not be 100% healthy.

In the 2nd half yesterday we saw how spreading the formation and throwing downfield stretched the defense and everything became more efficient....this is not rocket science.I agree they should be adjusting to what the game calls for and how they are being played. However, I still firmly believe they thought with Patullo being here last year and having 10 of 11 starters coming back that they could just replicate the identity of the 2024 offense. And realistically just because you have those guys back and an OC that was familiar with everything in 2024, doesn’t mean you’re gonna have the same results as 2024. Some guys are gonna get hurt, some guys aren’t gonna have as good of a year as last year and some will have better. Imo patullo and the offense has to find its own identity on offense for 2025. Which realistically probably is using aj/smith, Barkley and hurts dual threat as a Qb and exploiting which one the defense is allowing for each week.

I think it's more likely we will see Carter's snaps going down than Robinson getting more. I can see where Vic may want to play Davis more and have him on the field with Ojomo to spell Carter.

I thought yesterday after being down 3 scores they couldn’t just be Barkley rid for 2K and passing game just be efficient. they figured out their identity is really good when they Fing get the ball to AJ Brown. That's about where I'm at with it. Patullo has never called plays and was leaning too much on conservative and hoping Barkley would break open big runs. Last year they played conservative and went for efficiency because they were overcorrecting for all the 2023 turnovers and getting used to the new defense. The defense grew into the #1 defense and they were winning with running and efficient passing when needed. But they also had some explosive pass plays when needed. Last year worked because the O line was dominant and Barkley had so many runs untouched. AJ and Hurts both saying they were playing not to lose, not being aggressive enough. Hurts said in his PC that they will not be "casual" going forward. I don't think Hurts himself was calling the plays, but he definitely got in Patullo's face. I also don't think any comments from AJ about the pass game have ever been about Hurts, it's about the coaching. I think yesterday showed that. Hurts yells at Patullo, and all of a sudden Hurts is slinging it to his receivers and moving the ball down the field, explosive pass plays, touchdowns and a dynamic offense. This week will be telling: do they come out with a more balanced offense and get the pass game going early? Do they adjust to how the O line is not as strong this year and some guys have nagging injuries, so play to their strengths? They need to run Barkley outside. They need a little bit more designed QB runs. And for god sakes we've been begging for quick slants to AJ Brown. The 2nd half yesterday showed what they can do. Really curious to see how the 1st half goes this week.

Only thing I can think os he was hoping for a sack, fumble or interception if they forced the Rams to run another play but all of those seem far less likely than the Rams just getting yards for a closer field goal which they ended up doing.
