Let's say Lane retires this year. Fred will be 29, knows the offense and is a great locker room guy. He's not going to be Lane, but he can hold his own for a few years, and I'd imagine he could be even better with more playing time. He's not the answer to replace, but he 100% can be the stopgap.

The DL still hasn't been figured out. It's more that Davis can finally play 80% of snaps and they're rotating Byron in behind him. If this was last year, I'd bet Ty would be getting some snaps.

I imagine Fangio didn't like him giving up so many big plays. He's inconsistent. Yes, he has confidence and trash talks (so do others). He did bring some "swagger" back but that same offseason they got Baun and drafted Q and DeJean. Nolan Smith brings a lot of confidence as well, and Carter brings enough of the attitude (too much, to get penalties). CJGJ would make a basic tackle and celebrate like it was the play of the game, and then give up a touchdown. He would get an INT and then give up a huge play.Meanwhile Q, DeJean, Blankenship are consistent, and Mukuba is already out there making plays and will only get better as a rookie. CJGJ would just be a headache and distraction, and complain he's not starting or getting enough snaps.CJGJ would not make much good difference in the DB room now. The young players are well on their way to perform and contribute. Let him go whichever team would take a chance with him. On the other hand, Green is waived once again. He is in and out of the roster/PS so many times, he must feel there is no love for him. Good chance he would sign on with other team and get back to his career.

Again, I am not Laurie's son with direct knowledge, just saying this would make a hell of a lot more sense as to why we traded him and why.....the Texans just released him.

He is a terror on coverage teams. I suspect that Ringo got in the doghouse by not learning to change a couple of his habits, not using hips and hand checks instead of just his eyes on the receiver and not turning to the ball. Someone give him a copy of The Power of Habit to read on the sideline. The Dungy stuff in the book is pure gold and exactly what Ringo needs to embrace. I suspect he is close as Fangio doesn’t throw out comments like that.
