No. He's new to all this. He's been coaching for years. The rest is all new to him.

He's been game planning, scheming, working on offensive philosophy for years. I said the interviews were new to him. He's seen defenses look different than their scouting, he's seen defenses adjust and been a part offenses adjusting mid-game. He can't be that confused by defenses putting in wrinkles already. He can't lean on "they were covering our concepts" like he said after the Dallas game. And Nick is already covering for him.

This isn't to say he won't get better, but to say he doesn't have enough hands on experience to understand defenses, to be able to adjust, to understand what isn't working and adjust is ridiculous. He is one of 32 NFL OC in the world

Actually, I'm curious now if they even bother bringing Green back now that CJGJ was cut and the entire trade is moot at this point.

Williams is still only 21. He obviously has way more experience than Mailata had when he was drafted but he’s not the physical monster that Jordan is. His ceiling is lower but he has the tools to be a good tackle. He looks to be a better athlete than Myles Hinton.

That's not what I said. I said he needs leeway because its new to him. The OC role, the play calling is all new to him and then needing to defend his decisions to the press when it doesn't go well... very new.

So, when we are comparing his Presser to Patullo, its like comparing a presentation by a PhD versus an undergrad fulfilling his senior project. Fangio is an NFL lifer. Patullo is still very green in his current role, which does include the press, but more so needing to defend his decisions publicly and he's unsure how to do it. He needs some leeway. And comparing his presser's to Fangio is just unfair. Comparing his game plans also, or his ability to play call. We are going through the growing pains now. The second half this week was a positive after a very big negative in the first half. Progress is progress. I see progress, and we are winning while getting the progress.

He's not going to be Lane, but he can hold his own for a few years, and I'd imagine he could be even better with more playing time. He's not the answer to replace, but he 100% can be the stopgap.

He's kind of a Todd Herremans type player.

Wonder if they see Hinton as the quicker, longer LT type, and Williams as someone who can grow into a RT "mauler."

Howie will upgrade.

Johnson is a great reserve, decent pass blocker, but below average run blocker. So you have to change your run game if he's in the lineup.

Howie has 8? picks in the first 4 rounds - he'll add at least one OL, a TE, and everything else BPA.

Jordan Davis is coming on in year 4. BG took a while. There are late round examples too except they often don’t get the time with their first team.

I think they wanted to establish a more conventional run defense this season, take some of the physical load off Hurts (he IS the Franchise), and if he goes down, have an offense in place that doesn't depend on QB runs.

They're also dealing with teams focused on shutting down Barkley.

So Patullo is climbling the learning curve in more than one axis.

Every season is different, but it's not like they're not scoring 20+ every week, despite relatively fast games (i.e. fewer possessions).

If you haven't noticed, Fangio is going through a similar process, LA was running the ball down their throat, Dallas scored a quick 20, then Fangio made his adjustments.

I'm not worried at this point in the season, my suspicion is a lot will change after the bye week. Like last season.

With 8 games of film to see what works and doesn't, I have confidence this coaching staff can make the necessary adjustments.

If you notice part A ends with an "or". Here is part B which details under 4 games. As you can see, they can sign him only by free agency. Vested veterans who are released are always free to sign anywhere. The whole right to work thing when you are fired.

And section B says "less than four game must have been placed on waivers and terminated by the assignee club or any subsequent club, in which case the original assignor club may reacquire the player only by free agent signing"

So section B is saying if the player goes through waivers, is unclaimed then there is no restriction on re-joining the original team. By your own first post, he is not going through waivers, so Section B does not apply to him, only section A.

You can get lost in the weeds but the simple truth is a vested veteran who has been released is free to sign anywhere.

There is no way the Eagles are bringing back CJGJ.

Apparently he is still placed on waivers but since he is a vested veteran, he clears waivers immediately and becomes a free agent.

Section 1. Release:

"Whenever a player who has finished the season in which his fourth year of credited service has been earned under the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle Plan is placed on waivers between the Monday following the Super Bowl and the trading deadline, his contract will be considered terminated and the player will be completely free at any time thereafter to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with any Club, and any Club shall be completely free to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with such player, without penalty or restriction, including, but not limited to, Draft Choice Compensation between Clubs or First Refusal Rights of any kind, or any signing period."
