To be fair, about 5 pages ago we were discussing Nolan and Hunt not having any big plays so far this year. So I'm not going to lose my mind over Nolan missing 6 weeks. Uche and Z. Smith have been pretty solid.

Tbh my bigger concern with Nolan is more is his body going to hold up during his second contract. Kind was my concern when we drafted him. He had injury/durability concerns coming out Georgia. That said you gotta just hope he doesn’t cause he brings toughness a physicality to he team. Hopefully he’s back full health for Gb and lions. Really going to need him for those two games

Trey Hendrickson?

I mean the Bengals season might be over already.

The good news is Adoree Jackson is practicing

Still think corner is a bigger issue. Bennett is hurt now. Plus adoree is just not good enough. Depth behind adoree is ringo, McWilliams and PS guys

What's pretty concerning is Parry Nickerson is on the active roster. Even though it's probably very short term. He's Toast Jackson's brother. Howie gotta figure out CB depth in season, on the fly here. I imagine either Samuel or Gilmore are Eagles here by end of October. At worst....

Return of the Mac might get his chance to shine this year at CB.

We were pretty fortunate with injuries last year… It looks like we are not going to be so fortunate this year. Smith to IR. Campbell wasn’t practicing today, Baun has a huge brace on his leg, Bennett to IR, Jackson got banged up on Sunday (that one might be a good thing) and Lane obviously got hurt on Sunday so he might be a doubt for Sunday.

We need AJ Dillon to handle him.

One option once Dean is back is for Dean to move into his old spot and Campbell can play some games where his primary spot is Edge. Dean might not be ready in time for that option of course but he is eligible for the Broncos game if I've understood correctly.

Agreed. But willing to take his warts over Bennett or Jackson at this point. He knows the system by now and needs to take his lumps and get consistent reps. Like the height here and toughness. I think Fangio will know how to use him to his strengths.

As a depth and ST player, I think Ringo is working out - if he could learn to track the ball, he might be passable in our base C3/C4 but he just hasn't made that leap. Making the assumption that he would make that leap without seeing it is putting us in a bad spot now at CB2.

This isn't the kind of brace you wear for nothing. Goedert didn't even wear one this big with a knee sprain.

Guessing he has a minor MCL sprain. He hit the blue tent and then rode the exercise bike on the sideline. MCL injuries are injuries you usually try to keep your knee loose during the game, and during the week they want to keep it stable so it heals better.

Offense just needs to do that 2nd half thing the whole game.

Great Wednesday so far

Mine was worse. Spent the whole day in Baltimore.

I really want the Birds to beat the Bucs. I know that goes without saying but I REALLY want them to beat this team.

Campbell can't bullrush right now, so I don't see him being particularly threatening on the edge; and if you don't like his play against the run now on the inside, imagine him doing Nolan's job. I'd be surprised if we see Nakobe play another down for the Eagles as Trot Jr. offers a similar profile and has been practicing for months.

It’s my understanding that Parry Nickerson won’t be starting Sunday.

I haven't felt he has had a problem with his play against the run. He might not be able to bull rush but he can speed rush, drop back in coverage, and will do as well as our other smaller frame edge guys against the run, e.g. Hunt.

Do any of the bots, sorry I meant beat writers, have an understanding of what Bennett’s injury actually is?

Moving Campbell to edge is a bad idea.
