Nick playing 3D chess with the Bucs … forcing them to split their preparation across both Lane and Fred.

If this were preparation for a skill position match-up I would understand the comment. Line play is line play, move your man off the LOS, fill your gap assignment or rush the passer. I don't see a big enough difference in OL play where you are preparing differently. Maybe I am wrong, worst case is one is better at run blocking/pass pro than the other but do you really have to spend time preparing for a single O linemen? IDK, preparing for the OLine as a unit...absolutely. You might review individual tendencies and be aware of strengths and weaknesses, alignments, identify certain tells of each but that's all I could see happening, def not 3d chess imo. I would expect a professional scouting report would include all of that information. If it were the playoffs or the SB, yeh, maybe more goes into it at that point because it is win or go home situation.

I’ve told my experience with San Fran fans back in 2006 a thousand times but yeah, they are a bunch of thugs

I’ve been to approximately 600 Eagles games in my life and I’ve encountered many, many fans of opposing teams over the years. The only fans I ever saw that I was convinced were at the game with the sole intention of starting a fight was that night game against the 49ers when that idiot shot that flare. Total jerks the entire game, intentionally. And you could kinda sense their fandom was fake, that they weren’t there to watch "their” team but rather to instigate trouble.

Reggie White was pretty close to 300 lbs at DE. He had more length but it's not too different.

I agree. I haven’t checked but I believe that Carter was the edge on the 4th and 1 when he and Davis blew up the play. I know he came from outside in.

P.S. I have always believed that Reggie played at 300+. No one can be that strong. I’ll repeat my Nate "the kitchen” Newton story. Nate said, when came into the league he weighed 310 and Reggie White threw him into the QB. Next year he came in at 330 and Reggie shoved him into the QB. Third year he came in at 350 and he said, that was enough.

You lost me on your first sentence. Line play is highly skilled, just more violent. There is individual excellence and teamwork. If you don’t think teams scheme specifically for Lane Johnson, well, that’s unfortunate.

Bucs injury report

Adding to Kool Aid talk, apparently rookie CB Quincy Riley has looked really good in his spot playing time this season.

Interesting, huh Howie...

Looking through the Titans roster for trade possibilities might be timely.

Again, my condition was that Dean was back and ready to man his old position and only until N Smith was back. I'm not talking about moving Campbell to Edge generally.

The problem with Dean is his sample size of being effective is very small. He struggled badly the first half of last season, once he was limited in coverage responsibilities and was used mainly downhill (figuring out how to tackle really helped too) he really stood out. Coming off the injury he had, the time off from the game…I’m not sure he provides much.

So touchdowns and first downs have no purpose??

Am I getting that right? Or better yet, is that my...understanding?

Niners fans truly are the worst. Now that their fan base has assimilated a lot of Raiders fans seemingly, they’re even worse.

Money was a big factor. He got paid more than they wanted to give him the first time, and the second time he was due a big signing bonus and supposedly wanted to re-work his deal. If his options are limited he might have to settle for a really cheap deal which is a big difference from the other two situations. The fact is, the defense and team is better with him on it.

The Delusion is strong in this one.

He also said that Dak Prescott and Jordan Love were the best QB's in the NFL. He is either a moron, took too many hits to the head, or realizes he can get attention by saying stupid things.

Say what you want about the Cowboys but they have some good drugs done there

600? WOW!

Since it's become so trendy to say the Eagles are boring, and because I can't ask any of the morons on TV who are saying this, let's see your Top 5 Entertaining NFL teams.

Only factoring in on-field performance so far this season, here are my top 5 in no order:

Bills--Allen is a good watch, they run creative plays.

Ravens--fun to watch Lamar play like his hair is on fire, Henry looks like a lineman at RB, and theyll inevitably make at least one stupid mistake, which is funny.

Eagles--tons of talent, lots of interesting narratives surrounding Hurts, Sirianni, Jalen Carter, he'll even Big Dom. Lots of big time matchups this year.

Lions--also talented, creative play calling, and tend to also do stupid things in big moments which makes the game interesting.

For the 5th spot, Ill go Indy but haven't watched enough of them this season to feel strongly about it. Could also include Minny as a well-coached, solid team that also has a penchant for failing in a major way. Maybe the Rams too, lots of talent at skill positions.

But the Eagles are absolutely in the top 5 and Id bet they would be in almost every other fan base's rankings.

Yup...the crowd is no longer the quiche eating wine sipping variety. I have been to many visiting stadiums wearing Eagle gear, but I absolutely will not go to a Niner game in colors. The stadium is down by San Jose and close to a rough neighborhood East San Jose. I have worked in really sketchy areas like East Oakland and East San Jose. There is a real gang element in ESJ that I am very familiar with, having worked gang prevention in my schools. The Norteno gang is very prevalent and violent and claim the color red. They also claim the number 4 or 14 because N is the 14th letter in the alphabet. It was hilarious working in one farming town in the Salinas area wear the local gang was all wearing Kevin Kolb jerseys all around town a few years ago....lol...number 4. Many units wear Niner gear as their uniforms. They have zero tolerance for anything they perceive as disrespect...so you might think you are talking smack with a Niner fan, but in reality they could be a gang member, and they are all over that stadium.

I know Bryan Stow from Santa Cruz...he was the SF Giant fan that was attacked outside Dodger stadium...same kind of story...except he was joking around with a couple of Dodger fans wearing blue. He did not know that he was messing with the rival gang, the Surenos. They claim blue and the number 13 or 3. One of their favorite gang uniforms used to be the Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders #21. I saw them all over an area I worked one time and couldn't figure out what was going on other than the blue. Police finally informed me that the jersey was popular because the 2 and 1 added to 3. He was beaten into a coma and has severe brain damage. He now is an honorary member of the SF Giants organization and does anti-bullying talk all over Norcal. I wish the league paid more attention to what is going on in that stadium. People who are well versed in gang stuff...know exactly what is up. What happens in a lot of those circumstances has nothing to do with football or team allegiances.

I wasn't trying to diminish the skill required to play OLine, however if you are prepared to play against Lane I would think you are more than prepared to play against Fred. The point I was really trying to make is that not knowing who you are preparing for (Lane or Fred) isn't 3D chess, and doesn't likely present prolonged preparation challenges regardless of who plays, this is a weekly occurence (injuries). I am certain there is a scouting report for each player on the roster, starters and back-ups alike, that indentifies the individuals excellence, as well as the individuals weaknesses. Scheming for players is covered in the scouting report, I would expect there are certain sets, plays, and formations the Eagles run more of if Lane is playing vs Fred playing, to take advantage of strengths. Does that change how you prepare? Absolutely. To a point it can be referred to as 3D chess, not likely, it's just part of the weekly preparation. They aren't going to have two completely separate schemes, one if Lane plays and the other if Fred plays.

Will Shipley was a full participant so I'm assuming he's close to good to go. Can we get some swing passes out of the backfield? Some screens? Something to create space?

If Shipley is healthy, I wonder if Dillon is a healthy scratch.

Well as the first year head coach I wouldn't expect him to just lay down...I don't expect the Cowboys to win, however the Browns did just beat the Packers, so I guess based on that Schotty better have that attitude, otherwise the entire team will quit on him this week instead of waiting until week 13.
