His style of play

Hmmm. That seems extremely vague especially talking about a new OC. Particularly from a guy constantly reiterating growth, development, and striving to be better everyday lol.

Maybe that’s more about running hard or sacrificing his stats for team success?

Our first four games will be a really good litmus test for our defense. Dak, Mahomes, Stafford, and Mayfield will be a challenging run of QBs. After these games, only GB, Detroit, and Buffalo worry me.

Also, tonight is our chance to get our franchise regular season record back to 0.500 for the first time since 1933.

Might be storms tonight. Possibly lightning. If so, would lead to a stoppage of play.

There's a worst case scenario where the Eagles lose tonight, but I'd be very surprised. I'm worried about the pass defense, but the Cowboys are so one dimensional I trust Fangio.

I'm expecting the offense to score four TDs tonight. They have to, right?

This could also mean we were actually in on TJ Watt and Myles Garrett before their extensions

Howie called about all of them, guaranteed, if for no other reason than to gauge the market.

It doesn’t mean there were any serious or advanced talks of a trade package.

Right…. Which is exactly what I just said. He doesn’t have the desire to throw 40x a game to be "like everyone else wants him to be” and will do what it takes to win and sacrifice his personal achievements for team success.

Hurts publicly said he's not changing so I doubt they got someone who will go too far from what we've seen

I expect the passing game to look nowhere near as good as it looked in preseason with McKee playing QB.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Hurts can do that.

Still not enough outrage of Mike Patterson being on that list

If you were at the San Fran game where he returned a fumble 99 yards for a TD, you’d understand

Trade him

And the ACTUAL question was if Hurts is using his influence to tell them that he wants to open up the passing game more.

And he said it’s about team success and finding ways to win however it comes.

Much different than saying "I’m not changing” lmao.

On offense, I expect the Eagles and Hurts to continue right where they left off at the Superbowl and look like a juggernaut. Steen is the only new guy and he's got some games under his belt. The continuity of the offense and expanding it some will be evident.

On defense, I expect some miscommunication here and there on the backend, that leads to a couple obvious blunders . The front end, stops the run convincingly and with the early lead, makes the Girlz throw a ton of risky passes and make Dak be Dak, where he eventually coughs it up. Repeatedly. There will be plenty of pick opportunities back there.

I see no signs of any potential upset here. As that was squashed with the Parsons trade last week, which had to be absolutely demoralizing, especially to the guys who literally feast off of his presence. This is a TANK SEASON for the Girlz. Starts tonight....

I think Ojomo and Hunt come out of the gate firing tonight.

You don't think that's him saying he's not changing?

I’m still struggling to understand the 8.5 spread here. Largest point spread of the week

All along I’ve been thinking that the two PS activations were gonna be Covey and Sam (or Epps if they think he’s acclimated enough, which I’m kinda skeptical about.) But I think we’re now at the point where we’ll probably play a game (or two or three) with Dotson and DeJean returning punts. With McKee definitely out, having McCord in uniform is probably more important than the incremental gain they might receive from what Covey is able to provide in the return game. And I don’t mean that as a knock on Covey. Heck, I’m probably his biggest fan here. Having only two quarterbacks in uniform seems downright reckless. And that’s something that we as Eagles fans should be very familiar with.

It feels more like an anomaly to me. Did the emergency QB for anyone play at all last two years? The last game I feel like it happened was the Eagles/49ers NFCCG when the rule didn’t exist.

If McCord has to play I’m not sure he’s not a net negative.

I think I'd rather have McKee dressed as the emergency QB. IIRC, the new rule means he doesn't really count against the 'active' players and would only go into the game in the case of the absolute emergency. If its primarily a pain tolerance thing, and he can't hurt himself worse by playing in that emergency, then I'd dress McKee as the absolute dire straight type situation it would take for him to come into the game. McCord just seems like too big a liability at this point. On the other hand, if McKee's not close enough to be able to dress in that situation, then I say go with McCord out of desperation in the emergency role, but expect absolutely nothing out of him if thrown in there.

I guess I haven’t matured enough yet to skip the live events. 😃 I’m still at stage one and with the recent success, it might go for a couple more years. I’d probably not be able to hold off looking up the score the next day if I missed the game.

Yeah that’s hard. If I don’t stay up I make sure to put it on right away at 6am and don’t look at my phone. Some years they’ve had the no commercial version up right away so I could watch the whole thing and still get to work by 9am.

I got it at 7.5. Absolute bargain. Only think it's this low is because it's the over hyped Cowboys and it's a division game. And an opener which is unpredictable. But really should be much higher IMO. Last 2 games between them were: 41-7 & 34-6. And that's with Micah Parsons playing. Expect another blowout here, if anything. They are in absolute disarray going in.

DAL only won 7 games last year, and they're on the road playing against the defending Super Bowl champions. Also, their best player just got traded away last week. 8.5 would be about right.

Dallas' defense without Parsons was bottom 3 in the league last season and Eagles are viewed as a top 3 team in the NFL.
