I see the value. For sure. Just keeping it more simple. What would the defense look like with out Carter and what would it look like without Cooper? That defensive line would be toast without Carter. Get shredded vs the run and pass. And he plays close to 80- 90% of snaps which is a heavier workload than past D-Tackles here. Think they could survive better without Coop. Still have Baun and Campbell to help out in the tackling areas.

We saw the team without Carter against the Cowboys. They played that game with zero preparation to play without Carter and had to adjust on the fly.

DeJean is LOCKING guys down, making huge tackles and not coming off the field.

I want both back, but I think keeping the DB together is more important than Carter at this point. It's so hard to find good to great CB in the draft and the Eagles have two of them. I have no doubt that the Eagles could find more talent at DT. They won't be at the level of Jalen Carter, but it's much easier to replace a rotation than it is an every down player. Cooper DeJean is the ultimate chess piece.

Carter is pretty close to an every down player. Hearken back to the Superbowl and how the defensive line anchored by Carter made Mahomes run like a chicken without a head. Superbowls will be won against elite QBs like that with players like Carter wreaking havoc. Cooper can be replaced with a solid inexpensive draft pick just the same as you are suggesting with Carter. If the QB has no time and has happy feet the rest is solvable. Carter makes everyone's job on the defense much easier, thus the $35-40M salary he will most likely earn.

I think the exercise is kind of pointless, because we will sign all 3 guys long term.

But, this organization has always drafted great d lines.

Hell, we had over 70 sacks the year before JC was here.

On socials I see Bucs fans complaining about calls and announcers saying Bucs competed without Evans and an OL. I love it! The great teams relish being the villain

Actually, I have DeJean above Q. Carter is the lowest of the three because his contributions are the easiest to replace. Q and DeJean are closer to being unicorns than Carter is IMO.

I agree 100% with @Iggles_Phan that Howie’s job is to bring all three back

For me it’s:

Carter

Mitchell

Davis

DeJean

In that order.

Seeing other teams scheme guys wide open in every game pisses me off. These simple concepts don’t require retooling the entire playbook or Hurts altering anything about the way he plays QB. Let’s not make this more complicated than it is.

We won our first SB with an offense and Dline. Secondary was abused like a redheaded stepchild

I would have to go and look at the replay in order to fully agree with that, but for the sake of discussion, let’s say that that’s the case. However, the defender did not have his forearm extended toward Hurts when the slide started. He struck the Hurts with a clear blow that originated after the slide had started. If it had been a fist rather than a forearm there would have been no question that it was a late hit.

This was when he started his slide. Not sure what the defender can do here.

I will agree that they should call it consistently. This was basically the same situation that Reed Blakennship got called for in the endzone. I don't think either should have been penalties and I understand they are different crews but either both should be called or neither.

As good as Carter is, Jordan is playing at another level this year also. You cannot pay everyone as I have read here many times. Can you pay SB, JH, JD, JC, Q, DJ, DS, AJ, there are just too many players on the roster that are top 5 to top 10. No team can pay that many top salaries, the cap will catch up. I would think that Jordan can continue to do what he does and you continue to draft well you have an incredible secondary in a pass first league, keep them intact, sign Jordan at less cost than JC, maybe even trade JC and get picks for him in his last year of his rookie contract, (he is likely going to cost as much or more than Micah cost GB, or Jones did KC if he continues to do what he is doing). It's really a tough decision but if you can keep the secondary together you've won half the battle already imo.

I'd also argue that Bucs player could have really knocked out Hurts in that moment and been really dirty if he chose to. He does sort of let up a bit.

I don't know how Howie will do it but there's no way Carter and Mitchell are not on this team long term. Honestly with the way Cooper is playing I think Howie would find a way for him as well

The rest aren't as high priority

Holy crap those unis are hideous

When you see other teams fans scream to stop running screens

I don't think people understand how good Cooper is right now, and only in his 2nd year.

He plays outside in base and is a Kyle Hamilton type of weapon on defense when he moves to the slot.

I'm glad we're at home next week. That "in-com-plete" chant in Denver gets annoying after awhile.

I am sure the PHI FO will figure it out. BTW, Jordan is playing far better then JC thus far this year and it's not really close. I know JC has a shoulder issue and missed a game but Jordan is playing very well.

The Jets are hideous. Awful clock management

I had enough of that in 2005.

What I hope with Dickerson is he’s just still recovering from the knee and the back and it’s not an Embiid situation because he got the meniscus trim rather than the full repair. I don’t want an OL with degenerative knee issues like Embiid. But I’m guessing it’s not because Embiid had significant tears that even with a trim required much longer recovery stints than Dickerson’s 2 weeks. For Dickerson to come back that fast, as tough as he is, it was likely a very small tear and removal. But who can say for sure.

Its very common for athletes to just get the quick trim. Embiid's problem is that hes done that repeatedly so he probably doesnt have much left.

I’ve never deep dived into film after games, but is it receivers not getting open or Jalen not seeing the field ? Guess the other look is protection giving him the time to go thru progressions ? How say you football savvy fans ?

Playcalling. Patullo kept calling comebacks.

Cool to see Milton still doing well. I did (and still do) think he was overpaid but he’s been playing solid so far being the guy
