We won our first SB with an offense and Dline. Secondary was abused like a redheaded stepchild

Who was the DC in that SB?

I saw the still on facespace, ankle dislocation is the best case scenario. Dudes career is probably over.

His knee looked like it moved the wrong way too. Just bad all around

This was when he started his slide. Not sure what the defender can do here.

I will agree that they should call it consistently. This was basically the same situation that Reed Blakennship got called for in the endzone. I don't think either should have been penalties and I understand they are different crews but either both should be called or neither.

Fair enough.

Just like a boxer "pulls a punch” the DB should have pulled his forearm shiver.

Jets do that to everyone fans, coaches and players. Maybe even NY and nj

Buddy Ryan

Glenn and Kellen Moore knew they were going to lose lots of games this year.

They may get fired in 2 or 3 years.

They are allowed to keep coach contracts secret, but both are probably 10+ and Moore might be pushing 20. That's per year.

I'd coach the Giants or Cowboys tomorrow for that money.

Juiced ball era - not sure why the NFL thought that would be a good idea.

"Not a football play."

"Not aesthetically pleasing to the eye."

"Increased injury risk with players having to bend over to pick up the ball."

"Looks like rugby."

"Difficult to officiate."

Did I miss any?

I’m beginning to think the NFL would be much better if refs had a penalty limit.

Sorry, I don’t mean to besmirch the lengthy history of the dynamic kick.

Did you see how the footballs were being prepared? It makes deflategate seem tame.

Not a problem. Seems the NFL's talking points against the Tush Push fit neatly against the new kickoff as well. 🤔

I just did the math, and the teams that the Eagles have played (and beaten) this year are 9-2-1 against the rest of the league. Those four wins have certainly not really been impressive, but those results have come against impressive teams. By contrast, the Bills opponents have gone 1-9 against the rest of the league (2-10 once the Jets-Dolphins game finishes tonight).

How do you know it won't be 1-7-2? Hmm? 🤔

Aikman: Joe Burrow is a top 3 QB in the league

Ummm more like Joe Glass from Mike Tysons Punchout. Hes a good QB but is always hurt

Excellent point! (I did the math wrong -- it was actually 1-9 (and 2-10 after the Jets-Dolphins ... or 1-9-2!) ... I corrected my post.

Of course and we want them to hire you.

Why should he? The flags usually come regardless, so why pull up? It's going to be 15 yards nearly every time anyway, why not take the free shot on the QB, especially if he's going to go down that late? If I was a defender, the hit would be coming everytime, because fines and flags are constant even for nonsense so I might as well get my money's worth.

The league likely wants you to disregard that evidence; being consistent isn’t essential.

I find it annoying that NFL rewards really poor decisions sometimes. Throw a murder ball, 15 yards. Slide at the last second, 15 yards. At this point, wrapping the players in a cloak of legislated invulnerability might actually make them less safe.

To all NFL refs:

Aikman just yucking it up about how funny it is that there is a player safety rule about blindside blocks.

Yeah Troy, we watch NFL games for you. We want you to be happy in the booth and if that means letting players get away with dangerous plays then by all means, let the players get hurt.

Got to keep Troy happy.

The eye in the sky fixed consistency 5 years ago in the AFL.

The NFL likes to be able to put their thumb on the scale so no eye in the sky.

The NFL provides specific balls for kicking to enhance the kicking game and they are provided like regular game balls right before the game. They’re called K balls.

This was true last year, They changed the rule. Kickers can beat the hell out of the balls beforehand now.

There is no way in hell that Howie is letting either DeJean, Mitchell or Carter go to another team. That's why he let so many go this past offseason.

For arguments sake, among the 3, DeJean & Mitchell. It took them 20 years to finally draft stud secondary, they're going nowhere. They've drafted good DTs over the years. But again, that won't happen, all 3 will be extended.
