6'2" and 238lbs seems small for a LS.

Kinda surprised they didn't sign the guy they brought in during the summer.

LS was one of those positions we've taken for granted.

Since 2000 and before this year, the Eagles only had 3 LS.

Mike Bartrum, Jon Dorenbos and Rick Lavato.

We haven't even had to think about LS. It was a luxury we didn't know we had. Here's hoping the Eagles can get lucky and find a guy they can stick with for the next 8 years and not have to think about it again.

With no one allowed to touch the LS anymore... size is a nonfactor for me with the LS. Back in the day, that's another story.

Watched a highlight video of AJ in the TB game. The passes that targeted him in fact were off the marks and not catchable. Those misses were more on Hurts than on AJ. They have been teammates for several seasons and to be off so much is unbelievable. The coaches have to work with them to get everybody on the same page.

He definitely was off in the second half and I attribute it to being concussed. His processing really slowed down. The very last pass he threw was tipped by a rusher. Thank goodness, because it would have been a pick-6.

Does the radio signal coming from upstairs really impact that? I think him seeing where the previous play ends from upstairs might actually help to speed him up.

The actual signal from the booth to field vs field to field is probably the same. But you are cutting off direct access to players which could slow things down. You are limiting the time to get the call in since the headset gets turned off eventually. Nick doesn't "call plays" but we've seen he has influence so going from Nick to Patullo to Jalen gets slowed down.

I dunno how much of a difference that all does or doesn't make. Seems like he should just focus on the basics first before changing up his usual routine of the last 5 years.

Is the practice window only 4 weeks… what’s the hurry?

  1. No hurry, just pondering where he would even fit if back.

The LS can still cover punts, so being LB sized with more speed than a lineman might be beneficial nowadays.

Rocco Underwood, Florida - the "snap daddy”👀

That's true, but the #1 priority for me with the LS is the snap. If he never makes a single tackle, I'm perfectly fine with it. In fact, we don't really want them making the tackle, because they could get injured and then we are back to hunting for another one.

1 open spot on PS and main roster

Only 3 weeks? Yeah, I don’t think he fits unless somebody got dinged - so I would’ve slow played the PUP until the 2nd half of the season.

I remember the Giants drafted Zac DeOssie in the 4th. I don’t think he ever really had to play LB, but he did hold done the LS job for like 13 years, seems like good value (if it works out).

Yup…way back in the day I went to high school with a really large unathletic guy. I don’t even think he played a lot in his senior year. He walked onto the UCLA team in the early 80’s as a long snapper and has 4 Rose Bowl rings to show for it…so what do I know…nowadays with rule changes …the types of player can vary. Just as long as that ball gets to where it is supposed to be on time…

I resemble that guy. Long snapper. Walk on. Back in the day they did everything they could to the long snapper. Dropping an elbow on the neck was a favorite.

I am wondering if a possible solution is to put Patullo up in the press box. I think he needs to get a different perspective.

Does it have to be the press box of the stadium where the Eagles are playing?

Lampkin is eligible to come off IR now if he’s ready

He might need some time as he’s remolding his body from small OLmen to monster FB.

And who do you think is designing the plays? You don't think that falls on the OC?

Yeah …I think poor sack has moved himself way out on a limb

Not to be a jinx but I can't remember many snaps by Eagles opponents or in other nfl games I've watched that have been an issue

So either our training staff missed a concussion in the franchise qb who is front and center on every play…the same staff suiting up Mailata, Dickerson, Carter, and pre IR Nolan Smith each week…or the franchise qb is capable of stretches of play so inept we have to assume he was concussed.

I am disconcerted that one of these two things must be true.

I can't remember many either, but one that has always stuck with me, was Giants LS Trey Junkin had a bad snap at the end of the Giants/Niners 2002 WC game that led to the Giants not getting the potential GW FG off. Junkin had skipped it along the ground.

I'm on my 25th wedding anniversary trip with the wife this weekend. We have already planned for how I will be watching each of these.

10/4 Phillies game will be Sunday morning off the DVR, and a warmup to the Eagles game.

10/5 Eagles game will be watched live.

10/6 Phillies game will be watched Tuesday morning off the DVR before we check out of the hotel.

I'd like to watch the Phillies live, but the wife gets priority this weekend. Besides, we have some cool things lined up those nights. The DVR was invented for a reason!

Congrats. (And sainthood for the wife for 25 years - mine has more than obtained sainthood at this point.)
