I don’t think this loss will serve as a rallying cry or wake up call. This is a team with a killer instinct…we can see how angry they were with their performance at 4-0. They knew the offense wasn’t working then. This loss isn’t a revelation now.

The QB is a situational opportunistic passer and dynamic football player. That’s a great weapon and complement to the

best running attack in the nfl. It’s simply a liability when you have an ineffective running attack.

The OL can’t run block and Barkley…it’s time to admit it…is either out of gas or has bald tires after last year. Pick the better analogy based on if you think he’s reversibly tired or cooked.

And…we are getting dangerously close to having to admit this isn’t an offense with 2 great WRs anymore. So that doesn’t help.

They looked unprepared today

Doesn't bother me that much they lost for now. But it will if we don't come out and absolutely stomp the Vagiants on Thursday.

That’s how I’m feeling at the moment. A loss like this was always going to happen. Especially with how they were playing. Now if they don’t come out and absolutely curb stomp the giants and that ends up as a close win then I’ll be panicking.

Having both of your top receivers in the same exact spot for a deep ball doesn't seem like a good idea

Usually, you have 2 or 3 guys stacked vertically - but AJ should be looking for the deflection not the catch.

Well deserved loss.

Penalties, no Running game, O Line injuries, bad/shady Ref calls, too many 3 & outs by the O (a bad pattern is forming here with this ish), etc.

What I didn't expect was for the D to give up 18 points in one quarter to an OK Offensive football team. THAT shocked me. Fangio is probably butt hurt with having to win every game with his D because this O stinks so bad.

I thought it was an empty hand and the ball got pushed forward

Yea, it was about as close as you can get. My gut feeling was non fumble but I’m not sure there is anything definitive one way or the other

IF AJ just stands still and lets DeVonta get his try then he is standing there waiting as the ball flips right to him.

If last night was on Dave this one is on Howie. There is saving money and being cheap in the wrong places. MB played well enough to deserve a contract and 10 million was fair for a 26 year old. I don't care about future contracts and who they will have to sign. Keep the OL talented. Keep the secondary talented for 5 million a year with Rodgers. He should have kept F Johnson in the first place. These wouldn't have been big signings but the kind of signings that win SB.

Let Sweat and Williams go and trade CJ. Keep them. Howie does a great job in the draft bit he deserves criticism for how this team looks right now.

Here is my non-Hurts post focusing on other issues.

Ringo was picked on today but generally looks like he is good enough if rest of the defense remained dominant. I think the bigger issue with the defense is the lack of impact from the D line.

Too many pass plays today, and every week with no pressure at all. No one really wins 1 on 1. They HAVE to have stunts to break free, and Fangio has been dialing up more blitzes this year.

Aside from the pass rush, the DL was completely handled today in the run game. Our LBs were not free to run and make plays. People kept noting Campbell struggling in the run game. Life is hard for LBs when the DL is getting moved rather than clogging holes.

DL across the board has not been effective enough, and today that applies to both the run game and the pass rush. Its a huge issue.

For the first time we saw a team consistently picking up 1st downs after facing a down and distance greater than 10 yards.

The other issue, for 2 weeks in a row has been allowing the offense to win around the edge. We definitely miss Nolan Smith blowing up the edge. But, its happening on both sides, and he can only stop it on one side at a time.

The DL also has not contained the QB when he runs. Mayfield burned us a few times last week. And Nix did a bunch of times today. These arent even some of the most mobile QBs.

DL may be the most disappointing unit this season so far.

We may need a CB2, but more importantly we need another elite DT, or DE.

The CBs need to start converting PDs in to INTs. Mitchell dropped a pick 6 today. DeJean failed to hold on to a pick last week.

Defense is not forcing fumbles as well as they did last year. But it does seem to be affecting their tackling. Double whammy.

Lot of issues with the defense. Despite the fact that its kept us in and helped us win every game so far this season.

Saquan 6 carries is why we lost nothjng else, very simple

Losses happen..this was a team loss. The defense was unable to create any TO's, there was unfavorable field position for big portions of the game etc...The referees should never have been an issue if the whole team didn't lay an egg...I am not blaming this game on calls. Per usual ...the resident room trolls are in force pulling out their tired talking points...mostly because of lack of intelligence and vocabulary. They will tire in another day or two and find something else to complain about.

There is a lot to be worked on and we all have known it. There can be "good "losses" where a lot of learning takes place. Looking at the start of this schedule, I think 4-1 is more than an adequate outcome and expectation. Teams have had time to study and counter most of the successful stuff the Eagles have been able to exploit over the past year or so. . Romo did a nice job of pointing out that defenses are now crashing vacant gaps when the offside guards are pulling...allowing plays to be run down from behind. The "brain trust" needs to create a counter to slow that down. They don't have one right now, so Barkley is running into the LOS without the number advantage. The running out of tight formations has not been helping...nor has the lack of health across the OL.

And...most importantly...the word is out oh how to stop Hurts...run a mush rush with strategic blitzing and have a tight zone on the back side to limit the short to intermediate passing game. The idea is to speed Hurts up, but take away his running lanes and short passes...he still struggles with processing to 2nd and 3rd reads. We have known that...Today the Broncos took away his running lanes which had a huge outcome on today's game.

They will either figure this out quickly or it is going to be a slog at least through the bye week.

Never going to go undefeated, so losses will happen. What’s most concerning is the offense is one of the worst I’ve seen in my 37 years. It’s a challenge to gain a yard. It’s not likely that anything will change as this has been a Siri problem his whole tenure no matter the coordinator.

Three weeks in a row, they have not only struggled to score but literally even move the ball at all for one half. They get into these ruts of constant 3 and outs and that's not winning football.

And unfortunately its not just one thing - play designs, predictability, blocking, penalties, Jalen getting off rhythm and so on.

Yeah, this has happened each game, a series of bad offensive drives. Patullo is getting severely out coached at least half of every game. Like, made to look foolish out coached.

I didn't think there was enough to overturn it. The 2nd intentional grounding was obvious and picking up that flag was ridiculous. The non PI at the end was more of a penalty than the Denver offensive PI called earlier.

Nonetheless, the offense lost this game. On the key drive of the game after getting the ball on the 40+ yard line after Denver's first TD they lost yardage. A winning, competent offense gets critically needed points. Instead we go 3 and out and give back about 12 yards.

Confounding considering the lead we had

This was mentioned earlier in one of the tweets.

Special teams were the root for bad field position + the one turnover they did generate was overturned (bad call).

To add onto it I don't think Hurts should have held onto the hail mary

How so? Do you think the WRs have declined? I kind of doubt it personally.

I think AJ has.

How close does a receiver have to be to a ball to be considered "in the area” for intentional grounding? The only receiver I saw close on that one play was the receiver to the right who was about 5 yards away and covered and not even near the ball. Nix was clearly just throwing it away there.

I think out of all of them he should have tried to keep Becton. I think we're missing him the most

Nah. Just my opinion but almost every turnover situation should be called on the field so it gets automatically reviewed and teams don’t have to waste a challenge. It shouldn’t hold the same threshold as other plays.

Nobody knows.

How would we know that’s what replay assist was used for?
