2 hours ago2 hr 2 minutes ago, Freshmilk said:I didn't think there was enough to overturn it. The 2nd intentional grounding was obvious and picking up that flag was ridiculous. The non PI at the end was more of a penalty than the Denver offensive PI called earlier.Nonetheless, the offense lost this game. On the key drive of the game after getting the ball on the 40+ yard line after Denver's first TD they lost yardage. A winning, competent offense gets critically needed points. Instead we go 3 and out and give back about 12 yards.I think the questionable grounding call was partly result of other league over reach. I believe the QB threw in the direction of a wide receiver so that negates that call...but...the bigger issue is that the defender gots his mitts on Nix and seemed to let up a little bit, which gave the QB a little life to throw it away. I believe the defender was put in a bad spot for fear of the ridiculous roughing the passer penalty crap. I believe he had him in control but did not want to drive the QB into the ground. If the league wants to protect the QB then they also need to bring back the "in the grasp" ruling. I really believe the play should have been blown dead with a sack.
2 hours ago2 hr The birds got outcoached is the long story short. Is the train slow motion coming off the tracks at 4-1? Doubtful.A win against the midgets makes everything better. Unless AJ keeps stirring the pot...

It's actually much more like the defense finally stopped compensating for the Eagles offensive woes, and this is the result.I don’t think the playcalling was the main issue. The problem was penalties helping to derail drives. We had four offensive penalties that killed us. Smith had a false start and the illegal motion called back the deep ball to Smith, leading to a punt.
2 hours ago2 hr This team isn’t winning the SB unless the interior OL gets healthy and Barkley gets rejuvenated. So they shouldn’t have been running one legged Dickerson into the ground. He should have been on the sidelines in sweats this week in the first place. The running game is the core identity of this team. I spent years whining about how that is backwards and destined for destruction. But it won them a Sb. They need to get that going. And if they don’t, the season is toast anyway. So they should rest every component of this running game that is hurting to ensure they get back to functional status. I don’t care how many games they lose in the meantime. They are going to the playoffs. I’d rather be the road wild card team with last years running attack than the 1 seed with this offense.

Officials can be bad and we also can be our own worse enemy. But that’s been par the course this year. Sirianni might want to get on his team about penalties. It’s been that way all year.

But they definitely needed the passing game to become more of a threat than it had been through the first 4 games. Today was an overcorrection. But, it may still be a good thing moving forward. The few runs today by Barkley were actually fine. He and Dillon went for about 6 yards a carry. OL seemed to be getting some push and opening holes. The eagles were just determined not to run it today regardless.
2 hours ago2 hr The loss doesn’t bother me. The issues with this team and not having a solution is what bothers me. DL continues to struggle. No pass rush with front four. DEs are non-existent this year. This offense has no identity. Barkley looks like NYG Barkley and the passing game is all over the place. They hit a big chunk here and there but go cold for long periods at a time and the t cost them today.

Hurts held the ball way too long today, many times. Brown got in to his route, put a move on the safety, got wide open, and the ball still wasnt thrown. Just like a QB, the WRs have an internal clock that tells them that a ball should be out by now or else they need to break off their route and stat a scramble drill.

Then we get to experience victory again on Thursday.

Why are you having Hurts drop back and hold the ball for long routes to develop with backup and injured OlineOline is struggling up the middle. Why are you calling Barkley to run up the middlePatullo has shown he’s not capable of play calling. The quick passing game was there today, but went away from way too often.

Steen was fine as a backup but MB played very well. Letting him go for 10 million was a big mistake. You find money for that especially when your QB depends on good OL play and RBs to be successful. You also keep F Johnson because a cheap tackle who can play that important swing tackle role is another extremely important player. He got too cute vs keep core players who wouldn't cost a ton and signed short contracts.

As soon as AJ made that double move that ball should have been thrown. Hurts has never been a good anticipation thrower. He always hold on to the ball til he’s absolutely sure it’s there.

I'm sure they'll get a few more weeks, but this can't continue or this season is going to go sideways. There is not a single thing they do well on offense. They can't block, they can't run, they can't throw, they struggle to get consistency and work one play off another, they struggle to scheme guys open, they are bad situationally, they can't run a screen to save their lives. This is an extreme level of incompetence and Lurie is paying way too much money to let it look like this all season. The offensive staff is a disaster, but I also think Sirianni is just as big a part of the problem. It's his offense.

It’s kind of why with talent and roster you have that you should probably learned from previous time with Brian Johnson to hire someone with experience. Frankly could use an outside voice as opposed to someone internal to get some outside perspective on the offense
