Hurts running out of bounds behind the LOS wasn't smart. Should have thrown it away

Don't disagree, but doesn't change that he got hit a bunch and sacked a bunch.

I am unclear why they didn't go for it again on 4th down. It seems like that was statistically the better choice. If they had missed the conversion, they would have been in essentially the same position as they were in with more time on the clock.

Yup. 4th and 2 became 4th and 7. Go for it... and the play call they made was good for 4th and 7 just as 4th and 2.

Unless the coaching staff changes their philosophy, every game is going to be hard this year

This is the root of the issue. We're averaging 28mins of possession the last three and we only possessed the ball just under 26mins in the last game. You can't control games if you don't have the football. It's like we're back in the Chump Kelly days. We averaged 32min/game last year.

It's hard to maintain posession when you have no easy answers.

6 sacks, hit many more times. The line didn't look good.

How many of those sacks were from quick pressure? I think maybe one. The rest were ones where Jalen had plenty of time. I think 2 were when he ran out of bounds short of scrimmage when he had more space.

I appreciate the positive outlook, but even if we want to call this game a step forward for the offense, that's pretty pathetic. There's 1 new starter and a new OC. This team has All-Pros and Pro Bowlers across the starting lineup and we're talking about a step forward by looking at pretty normal, basic plays. We're going in to week 6 and we're trying to find glimmers of hope by saying they ran an RPO and it worked. Well damn, let's get the ticker tape ready. That's not sarcasm directed at you, it's directed at how poor this team has been playing.

There are issues across the board. The OC, QB, OL, WR1's head and discipline across the board. This is where Sirianni needs to step in and earn whatever Lurie paid him on his extension. Prove you're a leader of men and not just a trash talking frat boy. Get the team right.

Good leaders arent reactionary. If you still believe in your team, you cant have them thinking you doubt them. Its never as bad…or as good…as it seems

Plan your work. Work your plan.

Sounds like they are struggling to communicate internally on a variety of levels. If we are run first... then spend on the OL and RB, and minimal spending on WR. But, they are trying to spend on ALL of it...and are still struggling offensively. It's bizarre.

Correct. And Howie would be really good at this because he'd probably pick up a veteran to go alongside one of the WR that has 3 or so more years in the tank for a late round pick who's already made most of the money in their career and just wants a ring. But instead, they're like 'OK so basically everything on defense needs to come from the draft or be a hidden gem'.

The trouble is, I think 4 of the 5 OL are in that same position. All getting better; but overall, it makes that part of the team a mess.

Multiple from quick pressure. Also, definitely coverage sacks. Also, Multiple quick hits but he got the ball off. Bonito alone with 2.5 sacks and 3 QB hits. The line was manhandled in the 2nd half.

It gives me hope that they understand what Jalen is. It seems they know that he needs absolutely everything around him to be elite in order to have success.

At some point, he will run out of excuses. Hopefully. One day.

Fortunate for a super bowl, unfortunately Barkley probably saved Hurts' job. They accumulated talent and it wasnt enough, so then they brought in Kellen Moore. A legitimate NFL OC. Jalen was about to be out of excuses. Witj the roster, AND the coach in place the passing game still sputtered. But then the OL said we need to become a running team, and Barkley took the team on his back to a super bowl win.

And now we are stuck.

Is this hinting that he's playing at 60%? Maybe the team needs to do a better job of saying to these guys that while they appreciate them being warriors, we need to get you healthy. This means that everyone on the OL is injured or has been injured at least once this year.

Mailata- still recovering from last year, never looked right in TC

Dickerson- walking corpse

Jurgens- back

Steen- hurt his ankle a few games back

Lane- hanging on by a thread.

Yes, you play through pain. But at some point the team has to sit these guys to let them heal properly. It's clear as day that the OL playing through injuries is not helping this team.

Maybe they can rest the entire OL for a few weeks, and to protect Hurts they should play McKee behind that 2nd string OL. I wouldnt mind winning those games without any stress.

ESP doesn't even fit in on a fake football field.

Wonder how much of that is from the sneak and then also having a 2k rusher. Their bodies were likely screaming at the end

UGH. 3 man rush and give up a softy on 3rd and 15.

Naw caught some bug and woke up at 2am in a pool of sweat when my fever broke. Wish it was just a hangover.

Unfortunately I was totally sober for yesterday’s crap show

They REALLY need a big time pass rusher. I'd say yesterday was one of Quinyon's worst games, if not his worst game of his young career. However, even the best CB can only cover for so long. This defense is constantly on the field trying to bail out an offense that can't stay on the field. They have to be exhausted across the board. I finally saw Hunt on the non-call intentional grounding. That was his best pass rush of the year. Za'Darius Smith is probably going to flash once every few weeks, but he's not going to be a consistent pass rusher. I still don't know how Josh Uche is grading out so high. He's nearly invisible to me. Took me a minute to remember Ojulari was 13. Just nothing from the pass rush.

The reality is, I don't think there's going to be any pass rusher available who is going to drastically change things.

This is a crap show that Howie and Nick started in the offseason.

No depth at OL knowing two had surgery and let MB walk

Hiring a guy who wasn't ready and can't make adjustments.

The defense is going to wear down from always being on the field.

Great job

Can’t sustain drives and keep the ball if you can’t or don’t run the ball. This team needs to find a way to get the run game going.

But when you mention they're lucky not to have a bad record people pretend that it isn't true

They have to have played 6 or 7 games worth of snaps compared to last year because of the offense

I don't get the number of people pissed the Eagles didn't run the ball more in the 2nd half. This running game sucks. They haven't remotely come close to sustaining a drive by running the ball in any of the 5 games. They came back vs the Rams by throwing. Their problem isn't that they didn't run. Their problem is they don't do a single thing well on offense besides the tush push. And that has to change and change quickly.

It's not happening this year. We have to be honest about that because injuries don't get better during the season. If they had depth and could rest maybe but they are too banged up.

I'm pissed off at Howie today for having knowledge of their surgeries and not planning better.
