People forgot what it was like when we had no star receivers

Hear you. But this team with other playmakers who barely touch the ball in the passing game with Barkley, Goedert, Dotson. And even Shipley. I am not saying AJ has to go. Unless you overwhelm me with a nice package. I'd really consider it. But I know the cap is an issue. Might be a moot point. If New England is in love with him, I'm all ears. May have to be after the season. But I'm just not married to him like some. We are lucky if he can hang on for 2 more years as a so called top receiver. Dont think he will age well.

He finished the game so I'm sure he's fine. Apparently he was early in on the trainer's table after the game. He got up slow on a tackle from somewhere in the middle of the game, but stayed in so.

We’ve seen Bennett, Smith and Hughlett just this year finish the game and end up on IR. It was also his lowest amount of snaps played so far.

Not saying there should be panic though, just something to monitor with a short week.

Of all the things this offense is missing, you’re saying losing F-ing Johnny Wilson is a reason they’ve taken a step back…

I haven’t thought about him since they announced he was out for the season

They miss him in the running game my friend. Good blocker. No one really as capable right now out of all these receivers. He was significant in that physical identity we had.

If his knee is bothering him even just a little bit, keep him off Met-Life's turf. They have Bigsby, Dillon and Shipley. The OL can't block anyone anyway.

There is some merit to this plan…

There are a lot of problems. The Head Coach is ultimately responsible to address what needs to be fixed.

It shouldn't be that difficult to coach stars on offense and adjust to an O line with nagging injuries.

Is Kevin Patullo the biggest problem? Yes.

But Nick also hired his friend because he wanted an internal promotion. He also owns this.

Lions defense crumbling again and tanking their championship hopes. Eagles still have a very good defense. If they can figure out the offense and not leave them hung to dry. Looking forward to the mini bye and bye. And a whole reset. Still the best of the lot, if they don't squander it.

The book is out on this offense, run zone and it stalls. We'll see if the coaching staff will do anything to adjust or if they just try to make it to the bye week.

Getting rid of AJ Brown would make this much worse. Sunday, he opened up the game for Smith by Surtan having to shadow him. How many times has he saved a game on 3rd and 4th down because he can be counted on to come up with the clutch catch? More than I can count. This offense may be struggling now but it's dead without AJ Brown.

I'm beginning to think this problem goes much deeper. Patullo might end up being the worst OC in the world(I frankly doubt he is) but I've seen objectively terrible coaches scheme up offenses more elaborate than this. I think there's something to the whole Sirianni->OC->Hurts dynamic that is at the root of this.

I'd bet that if Kevin Patullo was say hired as OC by the Chargers next season(to name a random team) that they wouldn't be running into a stacked box up the middle on every down and every drop back would be Herbert throwing into tight coverage with no one ever open except the occasional deep ball with man coverage. Just the same, I'd bet that if after the season Patullo was fired and Mike McDaniels was hired they would run very little of the stuff they ran in Miami and it would look very similar minus a few wrinkles here or there. Just like last season Kellen Moore's offense looked nothing like the offense he ran in Dallas or with LAC.

That has been the Eagles for 4 out of 5 years under Sirianni with the exception being 2022.

Patullo and Sirianni may be below average offensive minds, but if your typical wannabe film guru dork online can see the issues, then I guarantee you they do. There's something off with that trio of a dynamic that is leading to the offense being run this way. And until we know what that is, it's hard to find a fix.

Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, Nakobe Dean, Thomas Booker, CJGJ, Darius Slay. All of them right now are being missed.

Trading Booker for Bennett is looking like a huge miss at the moment. Thomas Booker was equally effective against the run and the pass in his limited role last year. I'd take his snaps over Byron Young right now. Hell, for all the talk about Byron Young being a nose tackle, the run defense isn't any better or worse with him in the game. It's time to give us some Gabe Hall or Ty Robinson.

Nakobe Dean, if he's healthy, 100% needs to have a role on this defense. He's a a force behind the LOS.

They miss Williams the most. I think the replacements for all the other ones were more doable and they were older players. And even made sense. Howie had to find a way to not let a young D tackle walk. Just not his MO. Same with Becton. And letting Booker go for Bennett now seems like a headshaker. Especially after investing in him a couple years. Ringo is equal to Bennett. At least....

Patullo had 8 years of NFL experience before he ever worked with Sirianni; he has qualifications. Is he a good OC? Possibly not, but he didn't get the job because he was anyone's friend.

wtf anyone complaining about the defense right now - I just don’t get it…

They let the Broncos go up and down the field in the 4th quarter. They can't stop the run. They only have 5 sacks through 5 games. They commit dumb penalties, whether we like the calls or not. They are the unit keeping the Eagles in the game, but they are not without fault.

I am actually concerned about their ability to stay fresh and be as effective later in the year playing the snaps we are playing. They need better complementary football otherwise going to run the defense into the ground. Played back to back games of 70 snaps on defense

When they have been on the field virtually the entire send half the last two weeks they are going to get worn down. I think we also trust Vic to clean stuff up.

I had a feeling they had the toughest schedule. The opponents they faced are 14-9-1. After the bye their is schedule is just as brutal outside of the raiders and maybe bears

Yep. That's going to hurt later in the year.

On one hand... divisional game and we need him

On the other hand... F that field and lets not get Barkley more injured

If, and I am not sure how realistic it is, but if they can get the OL healthy, things can turn around quickly.

Oh, and same w Jalen Carter.

What we're witnessing is an under the table bribe from Jeff Lurie and Howie Roseman. They are going to give Carter lumps of cash to play like poorly this year so they can sign him to a cheaper deal under the books allowing them to keep more of the young defense on the team.

Come on, think!!!

The worst think a team can do is get rid of talent over coaches. Zone Ds have been around for ages, there are literally hundreds of plays that have been designed to get receivers open against zone schemes. If the Eagels coaches aren't capable of designing their own, steal from others and practice them.
