Man is more often than not a talent vs scheme thing.
Wednesday at 02:36 PM1 day So Patullo deserves a bit of defense in that the Eagles can't run the ball and that's not his fault. Kellen Moore started out slow and that was with an elite running game at his disposal. All he had to do was call one of like 4 run plays and the chances were good that it would be a huge gain or a touchdown.Patullo hasn't had that. It makes it 100% harder when the offense is one dimensional. So when he says they aren't executing he's right.Beyond just the run game, we are seeing receivers jogging their routes. Unacceptable. For those reasons I'm not laying this at Patullo's feet quite yet. Too easy of a conclusion when we have a lot of information indicating the problems go well beyond him

Try being efficient, you dope. When they start mentioning the long working hours, I always think back to the end of the Reid era here and how he constantly talked about how much time they were spending on the plays. You start to get into analysis paralysis and nothing works. I don't care how much time you spend working on something if you don't understand it, and it doesn't seem to be clicking for Patullo.

I get the run blocking hasn’t been as good but why does it seem like the other backs can at least get a few yards while Saquon can’t get past the LOS? You’d think even if Barkley lost a step from usage or was dinged he would have at least gotten lucky on a few runs.

That doesn't even include Lane who is always dinged up.And because of our OLs limited athleticism right now, teams are attacking downhill and getting into the backfield, and those negative plays are setting back the entire offense because they're not built that way

I don’t blame the refs for throwing the flag to be honest if it was a remotely competently officiated game. I think things were just so inconsistent that it stands out as a just let them play and stop slowing the game down thing. The marker for the ref seems to be covered/uncovered OL and if they are uncovered, they really can't move downfield and not be called.

The Eagles offense is very predictable and telegraphing runs and passes so it makes it even harder since the O Line.

Not that it literally didn't exist as a play anywhere in the playbook. A third possibility is he meant it was in the playbook but they never really repped it under Patullo or was installed last season or something to that effect, but that seems far less likely. Or I could be wrong and he was being literal, like a scenario where Hurts called a similar pass play but used the system verbiage to reassign routes individually thereby "drawing it up" on the fly and basically going rogue, but that takes more time and is super risky if everyone isn't on the same page with their assignments.

Hurts had 2 hero moment scrambles against Dallas, 2 tush pushes, Saquon had a few big boy runs in the RZ. IIRC AJ’s TD was on a scramble drill. Outside of that I’d need to see the rest. I think Smith’s RZ TD was off a nicely designed rub. They got that from the Deshaun Watson playbook.

Lousy play design, lousy coaching, lousy protection of the players. This isn't to defend Patullo at all but player execution definitely factors into the offensive problems. Everyone can see the offensive line is struggling . Even with injuries, they aren't playing at a level they are capable of. The skill players are all veterans but there has been multiple times two are running to the same exact spot on the field. No coach is drawing up a play for that to happen. There's been bad situational football on returns. There's been tons of presnap penalties. The entire offense is made up of NFL veterans. If it was the inverse of the defense, a lot of young 1 to 3 year guys, some of it would be more understandable. But they have all played for a good bit and should be better at executing.
Wednesday at 03:21 PM1 day Yes it's a short week but I don't want any excuses. They are allowed to have a stinker when you've won 20 of the last 21 games so I'm over the Broncos loss. Just take care of the GMen. Yes there isn't much tape on Dart but he's still a rookie. Get it done.

You're covered, then open, then covered again... so not only does the play have to be good, but the QB has find the part of the play that is working. It goes with the job.

It's not a secret the way to attack the Broncos is the LB'ers and getting Alex f'ing Singleton on Barkley is a win. Also, wasn't Barkleys first TD as an Eagle last year a wheel route?

Wednesday at 03:54 PM1 day The Giants are an inferior opponent. There's no need to rush Dean back for this game, especially on the MetLife turf. Let him rest one more week.

There was a stat the other day where when they line up in shotgun they pass 80% of the time and when they oine up under center they run 90% of the time. They completely telegraph to the defense if they are running or passing. Doesn't help either that nearly every run is to the interior of the line where the Eagles are weakest this season. Hardly anything outside.

A game or 2 in the booth might do him some good to have a Birds Eye view. Unfortunately film review only goes so far in the heat of the moment/in game with adjusting. I just don’t understand running their heads into walls continually though. It’s clearly not working but the same things are being called continually. They give Hurts a lot of freedom, but not enough time to adjust.yup...I still think it would be helpful to move KP to the press box and change his perspective. He could be surrounded by a couple of other people to share observations. I would then let the QB coach handle the communication with Hurts on the sideline in coordination with KP.
