The good news is we improved our 3 and out percentage. Only 3 out of 10 drives were 3 and out. There were also two 4 and out drives but baby steps

That’s why the defense is banged up. It’s not hard to take 1 and 1 and get to 2. Offense can’t stay on the field, defense can’t get off it…defensive players get hurt.

Also, it feels like Jordan Davis gassed himself out of the rest of the season on his TD against the Rams because he disappears more each week

The RPO and accounting for Hurts as well as Barkley also opened things up. Hurts is the better player than McKee but the latter is a better passer. He can progress quickly and get the ball out accurately. Defenses would have to account for that and it could open up the run game.

I both defend and bash Hurts from the same perspective, but this one will be "bashing.” I’m not sure there is enough recognition of how limiting he is to the offense.

Again, when the running game is incredible and Hurts is doing his thing running the ball, tush pushing, and selective conservative passing…he’s an incredible point guard for the offense.

But when you have to throw and the other team knows it, it’s not good. Last year, with the dominant running game, most third downs were third and short. You could run, pass, pass short of the sticks for a tush push….lots of options.

This year, with the bad running game, we are seeing tons of third and longs. And Hurts is TERRIBLE throwing the football on third and long. It’s his biggest weakness and all defenses know it. And that’s where there is so much play calling consternation, but what are you going to call? A cowards draw, a pass short of the sticks that pisses everyone off, or let Hurts throw a 3rd and 12 duck. He’s not equipped for that situation

Howie should extend Blankenship's contract before or during the bye. The secondary can't lose another good player.

Dickerson should have not come back so quickly, he should have waited till he was truly ready. Jurgens back isn't 100%, he even admitted that, so having Dickerson next to him also struggling was no help. Steen isn't the problem, his play is fine. When Lane got hurt, Pryor sucked at RT. Fred Johnson saved that game. Pryor is better a Guard, Toth sucks.

They need to accept reality of what's happening with the online this year and prepare the depth accordingly. Aren't any of these guys they drafted any good in depth? And why start Toth over Pryor at LG?

Stoutland University is also living off past success. Need to get it together.

And Kinnard may have been the best guard depth we had but we traded him away. Toth shouldn’t ever see the field

Adore is terrible. No question about that. But he isn’t getting paid. Dude is on a 1 year contract that’s not even $2m.

Howie mis allocated resources though as they counted on Ringo and thought they could cheap out on the fallback plan which was wrong. Should have spent more on the safety net option and less elsewhere.

Winning cures a lot and losing opens up gaping holes and wounds. These issues between Jalen and AJ were there in 2023, they were there last year and they are still here now. Winning covers up a lot and allows us to move on from things but the issues remain. And that’s why I think this is going to unravel like it did in 2023.

Sounded to me more like AJ just didn't want to say anything and is trying to tow the company line. Obviously he isn't very convincing.

Yeah you can interpret it that way I guess? For me it was another thinly veiled dig at his QB. Talking about Patullo having great ideas and wanting to get them the ball? Saying there was no meeting that he recalls. It may have been sarcastic but with all the nonsense he’s pulled I just don’t think he can do stuff like that.

This year’s team has a lot of issues and it’s going to be difficult to overcome them all.

Last night’s game was embarrassing and the loss was a total team effort. That’s two games we should’ve never lost when you consider the circumstances.

We lost to a Denver team that was traveling across the country on a short week with a 1pm early game. They let em off the hook with a pathetic 2nd half performance. Sure, it was bound to happen with the way they’ve been playing, but that was an ugly loss.

Then they turn the Giants into some juggernaut with that pitiful performance. Those same Giants that got handled by a bad Saints team a week before. They basically beat us with practice squad receivers, a rookie Qb, bad O-line and a below average defense at best.

The intensity as a team just isn’t there. The offense is totally out of sync for long stretches and a remedy isn’t on the horizon at the moment. The defense is not really that good at the moment either. The D ranks

20th in total defense (15th against the pass, 26th against the run and 18th on scoring D).

The offense is of course even worse, 29th in total offense (28th passing, 26th rushing and 17th scoring). I would say the stats actually underline what most are complaining about.

Right now I don’t see any quick fixes. It’s not just one player or one unit underperforming. More blame can be put on the offense, but the defense isn’t at the level of last year either. Someone needs to light a fire under the entire squad and really fast.

AJ definitely getting traded in the offseason.

Yeah I didn't see it as an attack against anyone in particular. I think he is upset with everyone meaning Hurts, Patullo, Sirianni, etc. Something will have to give it would seem. I would think Patullo would be the fall guy.

Hurts and AJ, respectively, are far more mature than Mcnabb and TO. That said, a divorce is a divorce and the qb with the big contract always wins. AJ is definitely out of here, just in a more controlled fashion.

No see it is an attack on Hurts though. It is because he will and has defended Sirianni and Patullo but never Hurts. We can ask who these digs are aimed at but it is clear and obvious.

I agree he has been upset with Hurts (nothing new there) but I think the Patullo comments was just him towing the line. Look at the comments about the meeting he had with Barkley and Hurts. AJ is just trying not to say anything.
