Also, Nolan Smith started to catch fire as a season went on last year. He wasn’t great to start last year. He didn’t get his first sack last year til after the bye (sadly might happen this year too)
3 hours ago3 hr Can we get a TE that can block like Theo Johnson? He was dominating as a blocker and just burying guys all night long.

First time in mlb history a series clinching game has been decided on a walk off error

I want a pass rush that makes QBs uncomfortable and a pass rush that helps the DBs. The fact that the Eagles have no pass rush is concerning, with or without Nolan Smith.

Which someone like Hendrickson I wouldn’t do cause he’s only here for this year. If it’s for somebody like Maxx Crosby, then I would say do it. Otherwise hang onto your draft picks. try to maneuver around the draft to get some pass rush. And I’ll also say I think you need to start thinking about drafting a right tackle high next year because I am not so sure it’s given that lane Johnson is going to play next year.

Like Taijuan Walker making $18 million and in three years he’s pitched .2 innings in the playoffs. I ultimately went both gone. But if you’re gonna make me choose, I think Dombrowski has been giving a ton of resources and he’s pissed away a lot of resources that could’ve put this team over the top.
2 hours ago2 hr Just a thought - and before anyone has preconceived notions about the idea - remember the state of this offense…Thoughts on bringing in Doug Pederson in as an "offensive consultant”? They went their separate ways as head coach but the guy was fine as an offensive mind and his play calling helped us win the Super Bowl (with a team not as talented on offense as this team).

His trade deadline, I thought was good in the moment. I even said that over on the Phillies thread. It was a shame he had such a bad off-season outside of the Jesus luzardo trade. Romano, ross and Kepler weren’t worth the money. With taxes that $24 mil was closer to $40 mil. I would add his 2023 and 2024 offseasons weren’t very good. They just have a bunch of contracts that if you looked at it, way too much resources and money going to them that if you spent half of it better you probably could’ve beaten the Dodgers.
2 hours ago2 hr Just watched the Barkley movie on Netflix....made me feel a bit better lol Let's not forget how magical last year, only a little bit ago actually was.
2 hours ago2 hr 9 hours ago, UK Eagle said:Its the unintended consequence of having a running QB as they age. You want to protect the player for too many hits, but by doing so, you expose their largest weakness which could be an aspect of the passing games or where part of the game where they have less experience (reading a Zone D). I don't see a way around it, other than accepting if Hurts runs more, he will start to miss more and more games as times goes on. And you need a QB2 that can take the slack up.I don't feel age is a factor, nor do I believe it will be all that much of one. I understand that the team has a huge investment in a QB paid to be a franchise QB. Where I disagree with many people is the idea that you can prevent injuries by doing things a certain way. That's arrogant thinking. Durable players are durable and fragile players are fragile. If a dual threat QB gets tackled (with the ball) more than a typical pocket passing QB, it's reasonable to expect he may have to deal with more pain from some hits. I just don't believe the idea that he will get injured more often. People say, "It's unsustainable" but offer no proof to back it up --- they simply believe it because the modern NFL hasn't evolved enough yet to show the longevity (or lack thereof) of today's dual threat QBs. But clearly the NFL is loading up with this style QB and we'll have that data in another decade. Cunningham, Elway and Steve Young had long careers even before all the protection rules and the new equipment technology. Both Randall and Elway took tons of hits as passers as well. People might ask, "well ... what about RG3?" Again I will reiterate: Fragile players are fragile (see Jim McMahon, Troy Aikman, Sam Bradford, etc... )So, it's not like I want to see Jalen get injured. I want him to stay healthy. I just happen to believe he is one of the more durable QBs and by quitting on plays as a runner he forces himself to have to play more downs than necessary, which you can probably find data to support the argument that that increases injury risk. He doesn't have to do stupid things like lower his helmet to ram into a defender, but he can certainly break a few arm tackles and make defenders miss at times. The way he played yesterday, he was not a dual threat QB at all. With the exception of the tush push, his runs were wasted downs because he gave himself up --- all while watching Dart inspire his entire team with 100% effort when he used his legs. This may come across as me criticizing Jalen. I don't know if this is even how he wants to play or it is a directive from the coaches or FO. I just want to see him do everything I know he can do. I'd like to see something ... anything that will spark this offense. If I had to guess, I think Jalen would like to finish runs if it was up to him. There will always be risk, but in the end, what difference does it make if everybody is healthy because you take no risks, but lose all your games? What are we "saving" our stars for?
