just as a pure hypothetical and i don’t think this is going to be the case, if the offense doesn’t turn around this year and it’s like this all year. And then they go out , they hire new offensive coordinator in the offseason and it looks similarly dysfunctional. how long do you think lurie stays with sirianni? Doug got 3 years and the wheels really had to completely fall off. IMO i think lurie would see as far superior in terms of talent to where they were when 2020 happened with Doug.

I think he would get two years with the new OC, but he should not get to pick who the OC is. He is not an Xs and Os coach, he has no business getting his choice of OC.

Rhule Is a PSU guy so they might be looking at him. It's possible, even probable. But I am hoping for someone else. Although he did turn around Temple and make them respectable, respectable is not the goal in Happy Valley. Al Golden is another PSU guy, but would be equally underwhelming.

If they want a former psu guy, Matt Diaz is likely near the top of the list. But he's a defensive guy and their defense hasn't been their problem. So maybe they go for the guy from IU or maybe Iowa St. It should be interesting.

From what I’ve read about the Indiana coach, he just signed an eight year contract. But if Adidas is truly paying for all of Franklin‘s buyout, you could probably afford his buyout and whatever you have to pay him. That’s a guy I would go with. He has won and built successful programs everywhere he’s gone. And winning at Indiana at the highest level is super impressive. Especially considering they’re in the Big Ten and they are not Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Michigan or USC.

Taunting by mahommes? He pointed and made a gesture at the defender?

How can they throw a flag on the guy that tells the refs what to do?

I’m not a Penn State fan. But I’m fascinated to know who they are going after. That is a major buyout. $50 million even for Penn State is a big-time buyout. I have got to imagine they have somebody in mind. do not think they were buying out James Franklin without having someone in mind and some knowledge if they could get him to come there. And I like Matt rhule and seen him mentioned. I like rhule but still feels like most PSU fans would be underwhelmed by that hire. Tbh don’t really blame them

Wonder if Rhule goes to Penn St if Mahomes Jr would follow him there.

LaPorta having himself a game - that was a top 10 TD catch of the year. Sick catch.

If this season tanks and they give Sirianni a legit OC and nothing improves next season then Sirianni is toast.

What I said was the OC is doomed when the QB can't play consistently and misses layups.

The last two weeks were an example of this.

2023 is another example. All time collapse, was it?

To clarify I know the defense was hot garbage, but Hurts didn't exactly set the world on fire either

Yea for sure, Steichen and Moore were so doomed in their seasons with Hurts that they both found themselves out of the league and definitely didn't parlay those doomed seasons into head coaching gigs for each of them. These are all very strong points you're making to back up your argument.

This Chiefs team could win the AFC again.

Get rice back next week too

Not to jump in the full argument, but using the SB MVP to assert Hurts is a bit weak. He wasn't the best player that particular day. It likely should have been given to the entire defensive front, and if not them... then to Josh Sweat individually. But this is a QB centric league and any other position, let alone a defender, getting an MVP any more is just a crazy idea.

That said, that's not to diminish what Hurts did do that game. He was great, but the defensive front was significantly greater and in a different era one of them get the MVP over Hurts.

And if they win in '22, he's the SB MVP by a mile so it's a distinction without a difference in a debate about whether the OC is doomed when he's "handcuffed" to Hurts.

Tbh they will finally have all their weapons healthy and on the field next week. They also are better along the OL this year as compared to last year. I know Simmons isn’t playing today but he’s been awesome for them. Frankly i think they should consider starting Jaylon Moore at RT over Taylor. Taylor commits too many penalties and frankly i don’t think is all that good anyway

Eagles fans would have been losing their minds had Hurts taken a sack the way Goff just did. 90% chance Hurts would have extended the play there.

One area that Hurts does not get enough credit for is the amount of times he avoids sacks like that and extends plays. Happens every game; sometimes multiple times a game.

whelp this game is over..

Blow Jays lost tonight, which is great. Pulling hard for a MIL/SEA World Series.

Tirico creamed himself reminding us that KC is back

Big fight after the game. EVERY single player involved better be SUSPENDED next game and get a fine same way Carter got.

Branch started it slapping a Chiefs player.

Brian Branch just earned himself a nice fine - possible suspension.

Branch is a lil b****

Juju is a dbag so i don’t blame branch

Oh ok, so with a decent OC, I guess we were doomed to win a ring last year. Darn.

If it wasnt for Barkley taking over after week 4, that OC wouldnt be a HC right now and IF he was still employed by Philly everyone would hate him as much as they did back then, which is about equal to how much they hate Patullo right now. Thats what Hurts does to OCs. Then they wanna complain that he has new OCs every year. Hes never gonna help one keep his job. They all look terrible with him here.

Chris Jones once again standing back doing nothing while other teammates help.

He's a walking meme this season. 😂

So when we lose the super bowl by a slim margin during a game and overall season that Hurts played well, it's all his fault that we were doomed.

But when we do win and he gets SB MVP, it's the running game and defense that's the reason. It's a team sport when we win, but an individual sport when we lose, apparently. And you tried to tell someone else to sit this out because they were out of their element? lol

You just dont know ball. I bet you sit there during games yelling "Block that kick!" during kickoffs.

Are they that stuck with the Hurts contract?
