How would he expect them to fire all of those guys all at the same time?

Monday at 06:21 PM1 day Z Smith joined this team for a shot to win a title. He realized that ain’t gonna happen and said see ya
Monday at 06:23 PM1 day It was kind of strange how long it took Z Smith to sign somewhere and stranger how fast he decided to retire after doing so. Might be that he was considering retiring and wanted to test his body a few weeks?
Monday at 06:23 PM1 day Funniest thing about Callahan getting fired is his dad is still stuck their coaching the O-line

He didn't want to grind out another TC, had a few weeks including a Sunday to Thursday that probably hurt his body and he's just done with it all.

Monday at 06:35 PM1 day Win 13 and another SB, win 11 and a playoff game, limp to 9 or 10 and a playoff loss... anyway you cut it this is a seriously weird season.

Already your first hint that he wasnt surprised, but also didnt welcome the feeling of the grind. He has produced 1.5 sacks in 6 games, and has been through a meat grinder in the past 3 games with the way the offense wont give the D a break.Hes not performing like he probably expected. The game script is not going as he probably expected when he signed on with the most dominant team in the history of the NFL.And he probably just doesnt want to deal with it at this point. He probably thought he was going to cruise through another super bowl. Pinning his ears back and rushing the passer in a situational role.Instead he was starting, and being run at over and over by teams dominating us in the ground game.
Monday at 06:39 PM1 day Smith took the bonus money and a few checks and realized he isn't getting any of the incentives to get to $9M. Made a cool $3-4 million for a few weeks of work. Made a business decision here. He has no loyalties to the Eagles. Howie needs to reallocate moneys to Hendrickson type deals here or this season is over. Can't see Howie sitting on his hands. May have to overpay. Ashame he dumped all these extra picks for garbage so far.
Monday at 06:39 PM1 day Howie's in-season trades are usually bad (trades after the regular season has started and before the deadline). There was the one good trade in 2017 for RB Jay Ajayi on 10/30. Since then:2018: WR Golden Tate (2019 3rd round pick)2019: DE Genard Avery (2021 4th round pick). LB Duke Riley and a 2020 6th-round pick (from Atlanta in exchange for S Johnathan Cyprien and a 2020 7th-round pick.)2021: CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick (from Arizona in exchange for TE Zach Ertz). DB Kary Vincent (2022 6th-round pick).2022: DE Robert Quinn (2024 4th round pick)2023: S Kevin Byard (S Terrell Edmunds, a 2024 4th and 6th round picks).2024: RB/KR Tank Bigsby (2026 fifth-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick)

Dude is 33. Got signed late. Maybe he thought he could still play and after a few games realizes he doesn't have it. It's not just physical or how in shape he is. Maybe mentally he's not all in. Maybe he doesn't want to do all the training and practicing anymore. To just blame his retirement on a bad locker room or toxic locker room is kinda overreacting. Besides the AJ thing, which happens just about every year, I haven't heard anything about a bad, toxic or fractured locker room. If we start hearing reports about that then OK.
Monday at 06:44 PM1 day 1 hour ago, Ace Nova said:I’m really starting to wonder about Fangio. He’s been fantastic for us for the most part and last season was about as good as it gets for a defense and defensive coordinator here. That said, I’m starting to get "when things are going his way, things are great but when things start to slip, they slip fast” type of vibes. There’s a reason he was practically booted out of Miami. He was booted out of Miami because the head coach fostered a lackadaisical attitude within the players and they didn't want to work. Some coaches will change their style or stop caring, but that's not Fangio. He expects effort and for the players to care and take accountability and that was not the culture there. You've seen it over and over the last couple years with that team, they complain about being driven hard and there's never accountability. If he's lost this team, then yes, it'll go down fast, but I think right now it has more to do with injuries and bad fits at CB2 and safety 2. Mukuba has been fine to good, but he's not the ballhawk that CJGJ was and doesn't fit there as well. Not saying that there needs to be superstars at every position for Fangio's system to work, but need competence and smart players. I've seen some growing pains from some of our younger players out there and then add the hole that is CB2 right now as well as pass rush injuries, and it makes sense why we're getting gashed. Ideally our offense would cover that for us, but OL has been injured and up and down all year and the O is still figuring out what it is under yet another different and/or first time OC.I tend to think that the D will stabilize, especially if we trade for someone. We saw what happened when the OC loses the QB/team in 23 and I hope something stabilizes before then. I do think we're too predictable and the OC is taking too much of what Hurts wants into account. The only one that stretched Jalen out of his comfort zone often was Steichen and he performed best under him than any other OC. Moore did well last year, obviously, but that seemed more about the talent on the team and an OL that wouldn't be denied for the run. I don't think we have the right side of the line to do that this year, combined with the obvious issues with both Dickerson and worries about the back of Jurgens. We're going to have to find another way to get the offense into gear.

Seen nothing so far to indicate he is even worth keeping. Seems to fumble the ball a bunch. I think we are too busy thinking about the next year and the following year. Metchie is meh. And worrying so much about draft pick accumulation, that we lost sight of this year and kinda bombed fielding a Superbowl roster this year, when it was right there to be had by keeping a bunch of winning pieces from a Superbowl roster. And it seems to have altered team chemistry with 20 something new guys. Howie got too cute this time with the tinkering. In addition, he's gonna have to pay a premium to round out some sorely lacking depth here at the deadline. Lot of work to do here.
