Monday at 06:48 PM1 day So unfortunately, I went to that dump of a stadium and watched that horror show live and in person. Got back from NYC yesterday, and I might still be hungover as I tried to have the alcohol remove any memory of that game. Here are some quick thoughts that are very delayed. They need to stop wearing stuff that says "Tough. Detailed. Together." and start wearing more accurate shirts that say "Soft. Sloppy. Divided." The team got manhandled by the Giants physically, and the dumb penalties and half ass route running are becoming an epidemic. This is on the head coach -- the offense seems lazy and uninterested, and the defense gives effort but is way too reckless. To be fair, the defense also looked completely gassed.Hurts played his worst game in a while, and 2 plays were just brutal. First, you simply can't overthrow a wide open Smitty like that. That would have changed the game. Second, on the pick, AJ was breaking wide open in the end zone. We were sitting behind the offense and I was convinced it was a TD. Hurts and the whole offense are completely boom or bust - when they get rolling, it's amazing. Or it's a 3 and out.Brett Toth is not an NFL player, and he and Mailata aren't anywhere close to on the same page. The offensive line is just flat out bad.Barkley breaks 2 nice runs to start and then...pound it into the middle of the line for nothing. And can we try a screen pass to Shipley?DeVonta does seem to be the one giving max effort all the time. Honestly, AJ really wasn't slacking too much either. Dotson seemed to run very lazy routes, especially on the pick.Once Q was out (and we realized it), I knew we were cooked. Ringo may actually be worse than Jackson.Baun really does go all out every play. Campbell too.Mukuba is young and makes mistakes, but he also makes plays. Our entire defensive line couldn't finish a sack. It's really infuriating. The main takeaway from being in the stadium -- the team, and especially the offense, just seems apathetic and disinterested. Maybe they are too satisfied from the Super Bowl. Maybe they think they can turn it on later. But the talent is there -- the effort and execution are lacking. And they just don't seem to care.

Their being utilized to about 40% of their aiblity in the Hurts offenses that have spanned over multiple OCs now. Even in their good seasons, they were capable of doing more, in a different system, or with a different QB. Hurts minimizes the talents of his receivers. Goedert is another example of this being true. Our numerous 3rd WRs as well. It's weird how other teams like KC can still run RPOs effectively by doing things by using different formations and not being predictable.

Monday at 06:58 PM1 day Well, I guess there's a possibility that this retirement isn't related to the dogshit vibes we've seen from this team all year, but the optics are terrible either way.

They have QBs who can think. Teams started making hurts think about the pass. They took that easy quick read away from him. This was last year in the first 4 weeks when the offense stunk, and Hurts stunk. RPOs were not working and the team had to switch their identity and let Barkley carry them.

He seemingly plays hard every game like you said so I don't want to unnecessarily bash him. But he looked uncharacteristically bad Thursday. Hopefully it's just a one off, bad game.

I think that's backed up by the sheer number of snaps they have played over the first 6 games. They had played 70+ snaps for three straight games. Baun has played every snap on defense too.
Monday at 07:06 PM1 day Just think the defense was tired and injured on a short week. They thought they could mail it in with the Giants. And just snowballed with Q injury in game. Also, were trying to rest Carter with a weak opponent. Team has little depth this year. Couldn't get away with all of those circumstances. This was the Giants Superbowl. As it will be for many teams with a target on our backs. Gotta be ready every week.

Monday at 07:08 PM1 day I'm predicting a blockbuster trade. Everyone is looking at the wrong bad teams.Howie is going to trade for one of Derek Stingley, Will Anderson, Jeffery Simmons or Tyree Wilson.

I'm struggling to remember a game where he was worse.

There was the one good trade in 2017 for RB Jay Ajayi on 10/30. Since then:2018: WR Golden Tate (2019 3rd round pick)2019: DE Genard Avery (2021 4th round pick). LB Duke Riley and a 2020 6th-round pick (from Atlanta in exchange for S Johnathan Cyprien and a 2020 7th-round pick.)2021: CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick (from Arizona in exchange for TE Zach Ertz). DB Kary Vincent (2022 6th-round pick).2022: DE Robert Quinn (2024 4th round pick)2023: S Kevin Byard (S Terrell Edmunds, a 2024 4th and 6th round picks).2024: RB/KR Tank Bigsby (2026 fifth-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick)Apart from the 3rd for TATE, he's usually sent picks in rounds 4-6 or had some pick swaps for a round, some players involved. Think about the quality of the players he acquired with those, compared to recent draft picks in those rounds. There's always going to be busts in later rounds but they have a pretty good list of recent 4th-7th round picks (I'll exclude this year since we don't know what they are yet):Will ShipleyJeremiah Trotter Jr.Johnny WilsonKelee RingoTanner McKeeMoro OjomoGrant CalcaterraKenneth GainwellPatrick JohnsonI'd take any of those draft picks over the bums they traded for that provided nothing.

LBs cant really look good with DL performances like we got the past 2 games. We will start to hear that Campbell is looking like a bust too.

After the run game got going, those got working better again. I know you Hurts people have memories of a bird, or just choose to forget.Absolutely no one said we didnt run them. What was said is that it didnt work well because defenses made Hurts think about throwing what is supposed to be a 1 read play and his head spun. There you go with those strawmen again.

Neither can cover and they are giving up easy soft quick yards on pretty much every play.

That's what I like about you HE, your unique insight and highly detailed technical analysis is second to none around here.
