The short version is that for someone who is leaving their country because they do not feel comfortable relying on a single country for stability, citizenships that allow you multiple options are very valuable, which is true for EU citizenships. Some may bristle at this initially, due to the worry of things like citizenship based taxation, but the truth that few people know is that the United States, despite claiming to hate taxation, is one of the few countries on Earth where taxation will follow you if you leave the country.

As a result, subsequent citizenships in a lot of countries won't actually compound on prior ones, especially if someone picks one with a double taxation treaty.

Basically, lots of options with very accessible backup plans.

It's kind of surreal to live in a place where the Buffalo shooting basically got no response whatsoever except deflection, but Kirk of all people, from a guy who had a full on MAGA family, is the straw that breaks the back of the country. I've felt it in my bones that leaving this hell hole was a good idea for at least 4 years, but never felt it more than now. Yeesh.

Collectivist nations resist populism because they are taught from the time they can walk that respecting others and considering how your own actions affect them is a fundamental responsibility in society, along with personal responsibility. Not to say they don't have their own problems, but normalizing this kind of behavior is almost impossible in those kind of countries.

We've become Temu Russia. I've got some red lines that if we cross, I'm leaving too. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, but I'm keeping my options open.

Yeah. My current opinion is that diversifying passport holdings is about the right action to take now, or rather getting started on it. Temu Russia is a good way to put it, at least in terms of oligarchy and stuff.
