Ideal for such a cold day.

One problem was that they did a poor job clearing snow on sidewalks. It seemed like the dumped tons of ice melt on top of snow. Which created thick slush. Feet were wet well before I even got in to the stadium.

I was completely fine up until halftime. I dont know if everyone getting up and emptying out the seats stopped shielding the wind as much, or if the temperature just dropped that much, but I went from comfortable to chilled real quick. And the worst yet was my feet stinging from the cold because of the damn slush mess they created.

I will say inside the stadium, the seats were well cleared. Brushed a little icy snow off my chair but thats all. The field itself looked amazing. There was no sign of snow down there at all. I have no idea how they cleared it so well, and where they even put it all.

But yes. Damn cold. First time I have ever been cold at an eagles game. Great day for a historically fast game.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

It’s why the eagles now are more sustainable than what they were after winning in 2017. Our drafts have been much better. That said I would like us to stick to our philosophies going forward. We are a meat and potato trenches philosphy.

Frankly, I say we need an invest at wide receiver because AJ Brown is either gone next year or the year after. However I do not trust us to draft a wide receiver and nail it. Smith is the only ones since Howie came back into his role that they have drafted and developed and became good. We’ve used high picks too. Everybody else has not panned out. I would also like to see a new wide receiver coach cause I think moorehead is not a good coach.

Trade up for Jeremiah Smith. Problem solved

Yeah, I kind of think he’s gonna stick somewhere between the second and the third round at tight end.

I think another scenario that needs to be talked about that’s coming down the pike is if they extend Phillips then it’s very likely hunt or smith is not here long-term. I cannot see them paying Phillips, hunt and Nolan Smith. I tend to believe they probably would go hunt and look to deal Smith who has a fifth year option so he has an extra year so you could probably get some value for him. I’m not saying I want to do that but if they signed Phillips, I just don’t see any way they sign all three of those guys to contracts going forward. You can’t pay everybody.

I am a very biased, very big Nolan Smith fan. I also think he can be the most dangerous edge rusher on the team when he's really healthy and dialed in (I get it, health is an issue). I think he may completely blow up for another team.

Philips is the best all-around edge on the team right now, but I hesitate to commit big years and money to him with his injury history. Vic loves him though and I bet they extend him.

They would be able to pay all of these guys if we didn't have so many bloated contracts on offense. I would take Nolan Smith over Dallas Goedert moving forward, that's for sure.

Fannin brings nothing as a blocker. Talented pass catcher though. I'd just bring Goedert back again and draft someone day 3. O-line needs massive attention, wouldn't even be mad with back to back o-lineman in the first two rounds. Could still add to the d-line and secondary too.

I’d be really shocked if they went back to back offensive lineman. They could use a tackle that can swing inside and play guard. But really where along the starting offensive line are you going to place your first and second round pick? Dickerson and Jurgens are here for a couple more years. contract basically forces you into that. IMO think jurgens will be better a year removed from his surgery. Jordan Mailata is not going anywhere. Tyler Steen is the only one currently that’s not under contract after 2026. So you could go get a guard and a right tackle, but frankly neither one of those guys is likely starting next year. I don’t see them doing that with potential holes at no. 2 Corner, potentially DE depth, nothing at TEnand potentially needing another safety if Blankenship leaves.

I think it is imperative that Howie restrain himself in the offseason and avoid spending any money on offense. Every available ounce of cap space that does not go towards draft picks should go towards retaining defensive talent. And nearly every draft pick should go towards bringing in offensive talent.

That means one tough decision: Goedert has to walk. This offense is too expensive for too little production and I would not risk losing any of these defensive studs to bring back Goedert to an offense that isn't going to be very good anyway. Draft a TE. Maybe draft 2. It would be my preference that the first 2 picks be OL, but have at it with TE after that. Call me absolutely crazy, but I'd even consider bringing in Ertz at the vet minimum as an early PUP candidate who is a backstop for the vet minimum if the rookies disappoint. You won't get any blocking out of him (but Goedert has fallen off big time there anyway), but he's going to run the right routes, find the soft spot in zones, and catch the football.

I agree Goedert should not be back unless he takes a very good deal. My view is that Phillips needs to stay. Maybe extend Nolan Smith at a discount I would not bring in Ertz because he’s not going to be healthy to start the season and he’s not a blocker. There will be decent blocking TEs available in later rounds. The other thing to think about is adding a FB. OL is the first priority in the draft.

That clapper a-hole just said we have to stop and recognize what the Chiefs have done.

No, actually we don't. BTA put an end to that. Its 2025.

We DO NOT need to invest at WR next year, for exactly the reason that you mentioned in the first two lines. This is a 'line first' roster. Build the lines and everything keys off that. Lane Johnson DESPERATELY needs to have his replacement added. Frankly, our RG isn't what I'd like it to be, and we should look to add some more pieces to the defensive front as well... OL and DL are much bigger cogs to our success than WR. This team can get by with different WRs. Having two studs at WR like we currently have with Smith and Brown is a luxury and one that often times costs teams from being able to protect their QB. We don't need that, we need competence at WR and excellence along the OL. Having an OC that had a clue about route concepts would be nice too. But, as the Hurts contract becomes more expensive, the OL becomes ever more important. We can't have All-Pros at every position, but at key positions. The OL is where I think you get the most value for your dollar spent.

I think they’ll invest one of their 4 picks in the top 3 round on a OL. I hope a OT that can also play guard. Imo i think they believe with time that Hinton or cam williams can pan out and be a starter. I don’t think they are banking on it but i also do think it’s a reason why they won’t invest multiple high round picks on OL. I think they believe with stoutland that they can be useful and one can pan out into a starter. I tend to think Williams has a higher ceiling. I also wouldn’t be shocked if they get Becton back cheap this offseason. Chargers are gonna release him as he’s making more than he should for his production

The issue for the eagles is they are gonna have holes to fill at TE, corner 2, DE if Phillips leaves, potentially safety if Blankenship leaves and needing OL built up and infusing more talent into the DL as ojomo and Davis need new deals. (Not sure what young or Robinson are)

Dickerson and Jurgens are big question marks...they could be liabilities again next year or at a pro-bowl level.

Steen, ironically, is anything but a question mark. He pass protects well, moves no one on the ground, and is generally a fine OG but poor fit at RG for a power running team. So an upgrade there wouldn't hurt.

And they NEED a blue chip prospect immediately at RT to either start in 2026 or back up Lane for 1 year before starting in 2027.

So that's one NEED, two question marks, and one kinda-sorta want to upgrade that is a FA after 2026 anyway. I think that means they need 2 OL and 2 damn good ones at that. I'm thinking OT in round 1 and a really good punishing IOL in round 2. They'll both be starting within 1 season and I bet both play a ton as rookies too. Could be the OL version of Mitchell & Coop.

Smith isn’t eligible to declare til 2027 draft. But even so i don’t think we’d be close to picking high enough nor willing to give up the capital to maneuver to get him.

You see that safety come down for the Shipley motion out of the backfield? That gave Smith the 1 on 1. Then what you dont see there was the double move by Smith. Theyre capitalizing on CBs sitting on hitches now.

So Brandon graham picked up both his sacks playing DT today and all I keep hearing is that graham never played DT before and you can teach old dogs new trick.

I mean really are eagles media really that forgetful, do they not remember that Grahams most famous play of his career, the strip sack of Tom Brady in the super bowl, graham was lined up as a DT.

Do they forget that as a rookie the media killed mcdermott for lining graham up as a DT in known passing downs.

Dudes been playing DT since his rookie year and all the sudden the philly media is like, Graham at the age 436 reinvents himself as a DT.😒

I view it this way the Eagles have a lot of money invested in Dickerson and Jurgens. They can’t move on from Dickerson until after 2026 at the earliest. And they can’t move on from Jurgens until 2027 at the earliest. I also viewed the fact that the Eagles probably believed that those two with an entire off-season to heal up are gonna look better. Particularly jurgens. He had back surgery in February last year. His entire off-season was dedicated to rehabbing his back. This off-season he’s not gonna be doing that he’s gonna be able to train and just get to his normal regiment. So I suspect he’s likely gonna be better next year than he was this year.

I think we’re freaking out because both of those guys have been poor compared to years past but i think they’ve earned enough equity with stoutland and howie that they believe in them still.

Furthermore i also think there’s a reason why we grabbed the kid off waivers from the rams (Lampkin). Also think they are intrigued by cam williams who if he went back to school was projected to be a top 2 round pick. I view him as possibly becoming a guard like they did with becton. Hinton, i kind of think they believe can be their next Fred Johnson.

I'm spending 2 there. Dickerson is also always beat up and in and out of the lineup. We need another starting caliber OG. I don't know what to think of the young guys they just drafted. We've seen and heard nothing about any of them, though Kendall got a few snaps today at OC. But, who knows how long Dickerson can last... Steen is sort of meh... and then there's age catching up to Johnson, while Mailata is having a bit of a down year. I've been spoiled over the years, starting with Tra and Runyan. I want bookend OTs that I don't have to worry about. We've had that pretty much with very little exception for the better part of a quarter century... I want to keep that rolling along. And fill in the middle with some studs too. The likes of Shawn Andrews (when healthy), Brandon Brooks, Jason Kelce and Landon Dickerson have also spoiled me for interior OL play. I don't want to see that slip.

If it seeds how it lays now then Eagles could host the divisional round with that 7 Packers @ 2 Bears matchup being a possible Packers win.

Jermane mayberry was no slouch and Mathis was a beast

Ill toss herremans in the mix too

Super versatile, solid O lineman never made a pro bowl but was dependable solid OL.

I view it this way, they are much more likely to invest one of those pics than multiple. I think they believe in Jeff Stoutland‘s ability to train guys. I think there’s a reason why Lampkin was picked up. I think they believe with Stoutland working with Williams and Hinton that they could get guys that can at least be solid backups over time. I think we’re freaking out because Dickerson hasn’t been as great this year and Jurgens hasn’t. But the fact of the matter is Jurgens had surgery on his back at the end of February. So his entire off-season was just rehabbing his back. That’s a problem to go into an off-season and not get into your regiment and you’re just rehabbing to come back. And then just throwing him in there week one. I don’t even think he should’ve been playing week one. My opinion is next year you’re gonna see who Jurgens really is and has been prior to this year. Because he’s gonna be fully recovered and not working to rehab his back.

As for Dickerson, he still can be one of the best in the game when he is healthy. Problem is he’s not been healthy since the preseason. Even he shouldn’t have been playing off that injury that early. Hes still laboring from it and getting more dinged up. That said we all had this discussion with lane back in 2019 (12 games) and 2020 (7 games) (even 2021 he only played 13) when he kept missing games. It’s now 2025 he’s still here. I think they need better backups so that he doesn’t have to play through some of these injuries and can heal. But then again I also think some of their plan from this draft was to build up Cam Williams and Hinton so that in the future they have cheap backups in case Dickerson misses a week or two. Along with Kendall and Lampkin. I think they believe that those guys with Jeff Stoutland‘s tutelage can be guys that could step in if he misses a week or two.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles go into free agency and sign a guard. The eagle have done a very good job at that in free agency identifying good ones over their course of time. Brandon Brooks, Evan Mathis, Becton. So tha can also play into this. I am not opposed to taking two offensive lineman early. I just think the Eagles have other areas they need to address as well and they have significant money dedicated to the guys they do going into next year.

How's that the Cowboys might win out idea from a couple weeks ago going? It was FAKE NEWS. They may lose out. Will see. Looking for that last game vs. Commanders to be a BYE week for our key starters, so we can see that Hall of Fame QB Tanner McKee. I'd even rest many of those guys for the Bills game if clinching VS Commanders on Saturday. Things are shaping up nicely.
