It feels like the general strategy for the 2nd team is to score and go for 2 to win or lose. It will be interesting to see if teams start trying to counter that.

Just kick the XP, IMO.

If your defense allows the other team to move all the way down to score a TD AND they give up a two-point conversion, you don’t deserve to win.

I do, I almost didn't get it because I felt the same way but I didn't want to spend another $300+ on a signed picture from the game (my wife bought me the Jordan Spector painting that Saquon signed for my bday and that was a hefty purchase). Second: since the high interception year of 2023 and the collapse, Siri has played it very conservative. He's talked a lot about the turnover factor in winning. Last year Hurts was taking sacks and more hesitant than in the past and it was apparent to many people that he was trying to overcorrect from interceptions. Then he started getting rid of the ball more instead of taking as many sacks. When he was passing more toward the end of the season in certain games he said they "took the straight jacket off." He said this season that he didn't like playing not to lose and alluded to the coaching being too conservative.

Hurts has had ups and downs in his career. He will never, ever be a top passer in the league. He's supposed to be a dual threat QB that will do just enough in the passing game while also keeping defenses on their toes with his running ability, which it seems he's slower in the last couple years and more hesitant. The offense needs to be built around his strengths including his running threat, and the type of throws he does well. We've seen many analysts including respected former players and coaches break down that Patullo's scheme is more vanilla than prior OCs, some even calling it a "high school offense." You can't blame Jalen Hurts for that when he's been proven to do more than that in offenses with Steichen and yes even Brian Johnson. I think it's a combination: Siri wanting conservative to avoid turnovers and rely on run game, Patullo never called plays before, Hurts has his limitations and needs the play calling to cater to his strengths (so does every QB btw), the O line was banged up and not performing like it did last year, the run game wasn't dominant most of the season like it was last year. Then there are other factors like receiver drops, bad field position from the return game, it was a lot of issues together and not all of them are on Hurts. They have taken a long time all season to sloooooowly correct issues like calling some better plays and running some better routes, getting the run game going. We're all very interested to see how they play tomorrow, they need another positive showing on offense to help ease our minds!

Good link. Very helpful. But for me a backward pass isn't as pass at all. If it had been caught it wouldn't have counted as a completion. It is a lateral IMO. But it really doesn't matter. The zebras called it as they called it, and that can't be changed.

Lots of gray in there. First, the title of the applicable section is specific to being "Fumble After Two-Minute Warning" and this play was clearly not after the two minute warning. Also, I'm struggling a bit to understand the consistency of a "backward pass" vs. a "forward pass" in terms of their definitions. A "forward pass" can be an underhand pitch/toss yet an underhand backward pitch/toss is not considered a "backward pass". It would make far more sense to treat anything backward the same be it a normal type of throw or a pitch/lateral/underhandToss.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Eagles Fans. Winter time is here and our Birds are on the verge of History. After a brutal schedule with no back to back home games and several short weeks and big time primetime games. The Eagles find themselves ready to clinch their 3rd Division Title in 4 years. It's only right it would have to be against our NFC East Foe Washington. It's another short week again as they play today on Saturday. The last time we saw them we put a 50 Burger in the NFC Title Game. Since then The Commanders have fallen off badly including having an 8 game losing streak. The Eagles also took a step back with 5 losses this season. The Commanders have been playing hard and been competitive in many close games. While the Eagles were their own worst enemy for the last month. Now its win and their in as the Eagles can clinch today.

After the Raiders blowout, I feel the guys understand what needs to be done. NFC East games can always been tricky so I expect Washington to play us hard as they always do. With that said this Defense has really shut it down points wise since the bye. Only giving up 14 PPG. Washington Defense also hasn't been that great this year so I believe the Eagles can run on them. I think the Eagles continue with the power running game and Jalen will get the passes when needed. At 4-10 Washington is already eliminated and pretty much looking to next season as Jayden Daniels was shutdown due to injury. He didn't have the greatest sophomore season. After facing Kenny Pickett, The Eagles face another former Backup in Marcus Mariota. Washington will put up a fight but the Eagles are going in a different direction. The guys know they are in the playoffs with a win so I expect that sense of urgency. They will build off that Raiders win with another strong performance. All I want for Christmas is an NFC Title and Cowboys elimination which can happen with a win today. Eagles are too much for the Commanders and cruise to Back To Back NFC East Titles.
