Since Jurgens and Dickerson have been so inconsistent I think it just gives them a little more room to operate.Even Saquons huge run yesterday, he had one guy in the backfield immediately. But once he spun out of that there was no one home. Same with the passing game. Hurts can bail out a lot easier and find running lanes where in a condensed formation there are just too many bodies. Not to mention the biggest factor, which is Calcaterra, a totally unproductive player, is on the bench in favor of Dotson, who actually offers some sort of threat to the defense. I said it before and during the game but I think Latu being out made them default back to the 12 personnel with Calcaterra. I'd really like to see them get Latu back out there and get some work vs. the Bills. There's a lot they can do with an actual effective blocker there. We even saw one run out of the Power I yesterday.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Bears should have lost last night and could VERY easily lose their last two games to finish 11-6. The Eagles are not resting guys against BUF.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 In 9 plays between this week and last week, BG has more sacks than Lawrence, Carter, or Thibs have this year.I remember when multiple Eagles fans ordered us to worship that Giants D-line.That D is 29th in points and 30th in yards. The Giants are 18th-20th in sacks and they have 2 more sacks than Dallas without Parsons.

That’s a bold strategy. For one, I expect Hurts to run more as I think they tried to keep him healthy and were conservative mostly. And the deep ball to be more prevalent. Passing on first downs. Seen a small uptick there. And as suggested the empty sets with the spread offense. Just different things that they decide to keep as they have been tinkering with different things all year and finally will settle on what they want to do. Part of any improvement is also just being healthier. Lane Johnson coming back is big. A couple weeks ago I said the offense had only one way to go and that's up. Trending in the right direction currently towards competence. Been some positives lately with AJ involved and a better running game. And a more diverse scheme with routes altogether. Just being less predictable is an improvement.

December 21, 2025Dec 21 I really will never understand the Philly fans that love everything else but hate their team or players. Now its Tampa Bay worship.Lets tank for the 4th seed because no way could Tampa lose to a good team twice! We love Baker! Its not like they are 1-5 since the bye with the only win being a 3 point game vs Arizona who lost by 19+ in 4 of the last 6.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 I’m not sure we should give up on the tush push just yet. It’s significantly less successful this year. But The oline hasn’t been great run blocking either which would add up. Injuries and the loss of Becton would definitely explain things. Don’t think stoutland has had a great year. Steen is obviously the weak link
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Today isn't a totally meaningless day for seeding. At least not the ripple effects. If you still want the #2 seed then root for the Lions to win today so they have something big to play for in week 18 vs the Bears.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Just now, eagle45 said:They played a pair of defenses that actively didn't care to stop them.Even if that were true, which it wasn't especially last night, are you not able to see the different route concepts, formations, and the fact that they've gotten more calls in on time? Olsen was picking up on it and he was absolutely correct that the offense is better than it seems. It has been for weeks now.It felt like it took them a couple months to break their addiction to 12 personnel, 90% hitches, and running inside zone every play. Now theyve found some advantageous personnel groupings and playcalls and they just need to focus on execution. It would also help if Sirianni wasn't coaching like he's on Adderall
December 21, 2025Dec 21 So the defense that did not care also decided to throw punches at guys wearing helmets because they care? How does that work? There are about 10 really bad teams in the league. The Eagles by random schedule assignment just played 2 of them.No need to pretend they were even worse because they now have some kind of secret don't care attitude that they did not have the week before.Previous GamesDenver 24 Vegas 17DC 29 Giants 21You all really suck at anti-Eagles propaganda. Get a new hobby.

I personally would vary it up with QB sneaks, Wildcat with Goedert and Tush Push fakes. It's getting too predictable, taxing and offensive line is just not able to outphysical the opponent being so banged up. Mixing it up will be beneficial.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Playing guys when you don’t have to just to prove a point never made sense to me. Yes you are a very tough and mean man, now go sit down and wait for the playoffs.

It should come as no surprise that this year "his" struggles began when his LS got injured again.Didn’t see anything wrong with the holder yesterday. Blaming a long snapper is ridiculous considering the holder is fine. Elliot is trash. We need a new kicker

December 21, 2025Dec 21 The Eagles aren't signing Tucker. Not with all the baggage, especially when he was as bad as he was last season and the other free agents have made kicks at roughly the same percentage over the last couple seasons.

A repeat of last year's playoffs. They will be more creative and show new wrinkles with tendencies on offense. And as I keep saying Lane Johnson is the big wildcard if healthy.I wouldn’t count on that. I remember that being wishful thinking back in ‘23 and it never materialized.
December 21, 2025Dec 21 Well, that went from frustrating as hell to pure enjoyment in the 2nd half. Division locked up, and with the Bears win, the 3 seed seems most likely (though I think the Bears could easily lose out against the 49ers and Lions). I'd be thrilled as the #3 seed if the 1 and 2 are Seattle and Chicago -- I don't think either of those teams will win a playoff game as I don't trust either QB. Meanwhile, we seem to be making radical improvements in offensive design.OFFENSELast week we saw them run the most under center plays all season and feast with play action, down the field shots. Only 15 attempts and 12 completions (before garbage time), but 175 yards and an unreal 11.7 YPA. So they come out this week, and after going 3 and out on the 1st drive trying to run it back, they go empty and quick passing game to score a TD. We changed on a dime to a spread out, short passing attack and made it work -- 22 of 30 for 185, only 6.2 YPA, but higher volume and shorter throws kept it efficient. That flexibility was very encouraging to see, and it appears Nick/KP are finally figuring some things out. That 17 play, 10 and a half minute drive was reminiscent of last year - hold the ball and shorten the game. Aided by 2 penalties on Washington, and we tried to blow it in the end (3rd and goal from 15 due to penalties). But we just broke them with that drive. All in all, we scored or missed a FG on 6 of 8 real drivesHurts played a solid game. His one brutal mistake was the miss to AJ on 2nd down on our 3rd drive (ended with first missed FG) -- AJ maybe could have caught it but mistimed it because it was a lollipop throw. But the rest of the game he was solid, and the 3rd and goal TD from the 15 to DG was a great pass. Just a highly efficient performance where he used his legs. Playing out of spread and empty really is when he looks his best. The running game out of shotgun finally reappeared, and it's because we spread them out. Yes, Washington's run defense (and pass defense) are terrible. But Barkley finally was able to get to the 2nd level rather consistently. Take away the 48 yard run (where he made a defender miss in the backfield), he still would be 20/84, or a 4.2 YPA average. 32 runs for 209 yards (taking away McKee's kneel downs) -- 6.5 yards per carry is 2024 level production. Have to maintain it against better competition, but highly encouraging. And Lane is coming back...AJ had a big day, but we weren't force feeding him. Just relying on him to get YAC and break tackles for the most part. Smitty dropped a TD, then came back and made a ridiculous move to get open. But looking at the route charts, we finally moved these guys around and ran something other than curls and go balls. Hell, even Dotson had 3 catches! We really are going to have to consider resigning DG. If we extend him before the new league year, we can avoid his ~$20mm cap hit in 2026 to be off the roster. That TD catch was a beauty -- great ball by Jalen, and great catch by DG.Tyler Steen = Jon SnowThe OL played decently enough, but I really can't wait for Lane to get back. If Lane plays, then Big Fred can go back to being the 6th OL. Having those 6 out there, instead of Pryor in that role, will improve 2 parts of the offense. Part of me wants to shut down Landon and Cam the next 2 weeks and go with Toth at LG and Kendall at C.DEFENSEJordan Davis should make an all-pro team. Yes, I am serious. The guy has turned into a monster and is a must sign this offseason. Just ate up the running game. Um...if Jalen Carter comes back and is back to being all pro level JC, our defensive tackle rotation could carry us to the Super Bowl. Carter, Davis, Ojomo, Young and BG (on passing downs) would be a serious problem, especially if guys can't double JD once Carter is back. Oh, and BG being this good was not something I expected. Add in how well Hunt, Phillips and Nolan are playing, and...this could be a lot of fun once Carter is back.I hope Dean is back for the playoffs, but Campbell acquitted himself pretty well out there. And Baun may be having a quieter season, but there really hasn't been any regression from last year. If we have to start Baun and Campbell, it's OK.Adoree got burned by McLaurin, but otherwise had a fine game. He's going to get beat occasionally, like all CBs, but he's still vastly improved since Vic moved him to the wide side of the field exclusively and put Q on the boundary. We should expect to see teams try and get their best WR on the wide side against Adoree more often. Q and Coop are just playing out of their minds. Q has to be an all-pro. Not sure about Coop since he is mainly a nickel. 2 games and I haven't noticed Epps much, which is a good thing. I think he keeps this job the rest of the year.SPECIAL TEAMSGet Shipley off KR. I don't know who takes his place, but damn. The fumble was bad, but bringing that kick out of the end zone...woof.Well, we can't cut Jake - we're not taking $10mm in dead money to cut a kicker with almost $6.5mm hitting the 2026 cap. But we HAVE to sign a kicker to the PS and see what's what. I have zero confidence in the guy at this point.
