Officials decide the ending of yet another game

Ironically... if St. Brown hadn't lateraled... they might have gotten one more play.

ok it was a td but another OPI..if packers win next week the lions will have nothing to play for

Btch boy rodgers bailed out.

Nah. That was OPI. Pretty clear cut.

OMG....what a weird call. I guess this will move up the list for the Competition Committee in the offseason...what a horrible to have your season end...

The play was a Touchdown, negated by penalty. Time ran out, so there's no untimed down as there would have been for a defensive penalty.

Lions can't be eliminated til week 18 so they'll have something to play for regardless.

That is not true. Bears clinched a playoff spot with the lions loss. The have 11 wins and lions can’t get 11. If GB wins next week they are 10-5-1. Worse they could finish is 10-6-1 and best lions could finish is 10-7. So GB wins next week lions would be eliminated

Whether it was or not the problem is every week it seems games are getting decided over flags. The last two minutes of games have become flag fests.

So the 2nd seed is a pipe dream now.

Just rest everybody the next 2 weeks and let the boys heal up.

Ridiculous they actually called it a TD, forward progress was stopped

If he didn’t lateral it and was short of the goal line, the Steelers should’ve declined the penalty as it would’ve been turnover on downs

Now with today's loss the lions have to win their last two and packers have to lose their last two. So if the packers win next week they are eliminated.

Lions window seems to be closing.

I thought the same thing with Bill's TD for the Commies yesterday.

If they don't make the call, the Lions win. If they make the call, the Steelers win. Nothing the officials can do about it, other than their job. A lot of times the last two minutes have become flag fests because the players are desperate and doing things that they shouldn't. I'm not a fan of the referees... but if the Eagles were in the position the Steelers were, we'd have been screaming conspiracy if they don't throw the flag. Ref there was in a no-win situation. The player committed a penalty, if he calls it... people complain. If he doesn't... people complain.

Yeah... that's also true. I forgot it was 4th down.

Craziest ending to games in the last 30 years...

unfortunately in nfl forward progress seems to be subjective

Yesterday forward progress was stopped but since the whistle wasn't blown the commanders player continued and eventually broke the plane for a td.

Then when eagles played the giants, hurts fumbled on tush push but since the play was blown dead before he did the eagles kept possession.

Hey @LeanMeanGM You’re goin down.

Ps - you’re gonna lose in fantasy too.

This is one of the few times I think the official was forced to throw the flag and right to do it. Imo don’t think they wanted to throw the flag. But it was pretty blatantly obvious St. Brown did what he did and it’s the only way he got enough separation to catch it a then lateral it so they could score.

Usually when we see official screw things up at the end of games it’s because it’s questionable calls. But each one of these penalties on that drive were pretty blatantly obvious.
