No Q!?!?!

He doesn’t get INTs, just shuts down the WR. It’s not sexy.

Tbh that guy might be one guy. Could draft a kid who’s an OT and has guard versatility. Play RG until Lane retires then go out and get your RG of the future down the road. I also don’t think it’s out of the question they bring back Becton (believe the chargers are going to release him in the offseason). I also am higher on cam Williams than most of the blog. I figured it would take 2 years to get there cause he really should’ve gone back to school but i think stoutland has a lot of raw talent to work with. I believe this year was always supposed to be like a redshirt year for him.

Yeah... I am thinking the Eagles need to avoid finding a player with a "versatility" label. I believe they need a couple of "anchors", especially at OT. I believe the highest priority this offseason is investing in Lane's replacement and that will take a first round pick. Someone who has multiple years of successful experience at that one position. They all need to prioritize CB, TE and OG with those first picks...the OG can be a OT transfer. Howie is in for a very demanding and busy offseason, especially with all the defensive personnel decisions and nailing the draft. I believe the Eagles can keep the window open for a few more years, but there has to be a lot of precision in their thinking and planning.

It's sexy as hell to us!

If Lane Johnson retires (my expectation), do you trust Fred Johnson taking over? Or do you want to draft the best OT you can in the 1st round?

He's about the best option I can think of as a stopgap until a rookie can learn and get ready. He's also the best option I can think of for a backup/swing. He needs to stay either way.

What do Eagles fans want more of from the offense?

More plays under center?

More plays from shotgun?

Balance and variety?

Nothing on offense is more important than the fundamental understanding of the opposing team's scheme and using the appropriate counters. The focus has to be understanding the calculus of play calling and formations with an emphasis on creating favorable advantages and leverage. I think the Eagles are finally starting to move in that direction.

No. The Steelers, Bucs, Bengals, Eagles, and Jags all were not interested in keeping him.

We need an elite OL to make this offense work.

Draft, but he basically confirmed he's not retiring after this season.

I view it this way, (not so much directed at you) I just don’t see the Eagles taking two offensive lineman with their first 4 picks unless one falls that they didn’t expect and have graded that highly to do it.

Imo there’s a chance reed Blankenship leaves, Phillips leaves, goedert leaves and you still need a 2nd corner. So you’re gonna have to replace those guys. Now some of it might be replaced in agency, but then you also need Lane Johnson’s replacement. Tyler Steen is still under contract for another year. Furthermore, they drafted Williams, Hinton and Kendall last year. Frankly for Hinton and Williams, this was always going to be a redshirt here for them. the eagles unlike many fans probably believe in them to make jumps. I don’t believe are just out on them making strides and improvements to be better year 2 and into the future. Furthermore also believe they like Lampkin as a future backup at C. One year with stoutland isn’t enough time when they knew Williams was a project and Hinton also needed time.

I think there’s a better chance the Eagles identify somebody in free agency who they can get at a reasonable price at G and bring in to play guard if they’re down on steen. Because the eagle have been very good at doing that. They got Evan Mathis, Brandon Brooks, Becton that way

So the eagles may potentially have needs at S (depth at S), DE/pass rusher, corner (starter and depth), tight end (starter and depth), lane’s replacement. Imo i think replacing steen at the moment isn’t as Hugh on their to do list. I just view that steen’s replacement might be someone they are developing or might be a bigger priority to find in FA or in 2027 draft. Imo steen kind has the seumalo issue. Where since he’s the weakest link (talent wise— Jurgens and Dickerson haven’t played up to the standards this year) then everyone wants to just throw him out an wants an upgrade so he matches what the other 4 have been (outside of 2025). I’d argue seumalo made his biggest jump in his rookie contract from year 3 to 4. It’s why he got an extension and was here for a while. Also seumalo looked much better when he had guys playing up to their standards around him. When they didn’t he also looked worse

Also think Becton is getting released by the chargers so a reunion could be had where steen competes with him for starting RG.

I forgot to mention this, the Eagles don’t have a lot of money they can spend in free agency with guys coming up for contracts. It’s kind of why I think those guys there’s a good chance they leave. I think the cheaper alternative is to get a veteran on a small contract at s then draft a guy high to grow with Mukuba. Some of tha with TE as well. let them compete with the cheap veteran. kinda like they did with the Jackson and Ringo. I also think they believe it’s gonna be way too much money to spend for a pass rusher in free agency/resigning Phillips. so that they will use one of those picks to get a pass rusher so they can have them cheap for a couple of years (also be able to extend smith and hunt).

I agree. However i also think the eagles may be higher on cam williams or Hinton in their development than people on this blog. Williams was never expected to be in the Eagles plans in 2025. His scouting report basically said that. He was a raw project that needed about one or two years to get himself ready to be that. But the talent is there and hope with stoutland they can unlock it. He really should’ve went back to Texas because he was projected if he went back to be a first or second round pick this upcoming season.

That said the fact that we’ve gotten to work with him for a year with Stoutland probably helps him. I am guessing they have way better information about him and Hinton when they opened their practice windowa. I think part of that was to see where they were in their development. Imo I think they did that to get more info about whether or not they really have to go all in on a lane replacement this off-season in case he retires after 2026 and with the amount of injuries he’s been compiling.

Just a gut feeling, i believe one of Williams or Hinton is going to be a OT (likely swing OT) and the other they believe they can do like they did with Becton and move him inside and develop him into a starting guard.

I wouldn't trust any rookie to come in and start right away either. We saw a few years ago late round OTs may need a bit unless someone falls to you like Chiefs. That's where F Johnson becomes valuable. He played well last year for JM and while he has issues he's been as good as one can expect as a backup. Honestly, I think when Lane retires they'll need him and a rookie.

He did?

OL is a must high in the draft but I could see one O line high and then another on day 3.

They also need a TE, corner, and depending on free agency Edge and safety.

Please note at some point these guys get worse with age and are washed. And he just may be done with now 2 consecutive bad seasons. Never been a great kicker from 50+. Have 4 negative years in career from that range. I'm concerned if he can kick 40+. There are guys kicking 60+ with ease. We are very limited at kicker, if we keep him. What options are there? Here's a recent list I found of kickers on practice squads or free agents with any stats.

Practice Squads

Joshua Karty (79%)

Cade York (73%)

Ben Sauls (no kicks)

Lenny Krieg (no kicks)

FAs (Career stats)

Matthew Wright (88%)

Austin Seibert (84%)

Dustin Hopkins (84%)

Matt Gay (84%)

Of course you have Koo and Tucker as well, which have different issues altogether. Very good career stats but are older as well. May look for permanent answer with the first ones mentioned.

Zero chance they change now, but I think he is gone next year.

You don't change now because 1) everyone out there sucks and 2) you know that he HAS BEEN clutch in the post season.

So, you scheme it into your game plan. Nothing over 45. Punt and play the field position game. Sucks but worse is giving the ball up with good field position. Mann has been good and coverage good. Punt.

He's said multiple times he fully plans to play out his contract.

Regular fans don't really know him that much. WRs do know him, he'll make the Pro Bowl in the end.

He also should be All-Pro, but we'll see.

  1. I don't think everyone out there sucks. It's just a matter of opportunity, like with Dicker. My top 2 candidates are Wright and Gay. Both have fared well THIS SEASON as fill-ins.

  2. Hate the idea of scheming around a kicker you basically don't trust. Eagles could afford to do this strategy last year. Not this year. I.E. Chargers game.

If you are gonna get rid of him this offseason anyway, I'm not afraid to do so a couple games early and can deactivate him only, because of cap consequences. If he craps his pants next week in Buffalo next week in cold weather, he's useless to me (will no longer be able to use new snapper excuse). Hopium ain't a plan.

You do both, even if Lane stays another year.

If they trade AJ Brown, WR is a need.

Lots of other fans hate the Eagles. The media tells them to hate the Eagles.

The Eagles looked bad on prime time vs NY and LA and they choked vs Dallas on Thanksgiving.

They did not exactly steamroll Dallas to open the season.

We know how good they are but they have not exactly shown it to the average fan this year.

Baun for example dropped a pick in his chest on Thanksgiving and a huge audience saw it.

I'm kind of shocked that Hurts was as high as 9th with all the hate and his 2 worst games in prime time.

Q is probably the #1 corner in 2025 (it changes every year and Surtain has been mangled) but almost no one outside of Philly notices.

With our win Saturday, we are now 87-89-6 all-time against the Washington franchise during the regular season. We are 1-1 in the playoffs.

There have been four distinct stretches, all coinciding with significant moments.

  • We started slowly, going 2-15-0 through 1942.

  • Then in 1943 we combined rosters with the Steelers to create the Steagles for one season. Over the next twenty seasons we went 26-12-3 against the Redskins.

  • Then in November 1963, Kennedy was assassinated. We played the Redskins that weekend and lost. It began a 15-37-3 stretch through 1990.

  • Over the course of 1991, the Soviet Union dissolved. Since then we are 44-25-0 over the multi-named franchise.
