They shouldn't have traded Metchie - he's perfectly serviceable as a WR3 in this offense and would've been under contract next year.

Cooper is fine as a 3rd receiver. They shouldn’t pay much for this position considering the need to retain our Defensive players and we don’t throw to that guy anyway.

Awesome!

It really is great news for those who want the 2 seed.

WR should be high on the Eagles draft priority unless you believe AJ Brown is still here in 2027.

Might be better to trade for one considering Howie sucks at drafting WRs (Smith is the exception and not the rule)

What do Eagles fans want more of from the offense?

More plays under center?

More plays from shotgun?

Balance and variety?

Effectiveness.

He doesn’t get INTs, just shuts down the WR. It’s not sexy.

Speak for yourself. I've dreamed of having a shut down CB like him for a long time.

If Lane Johnson retires (my expectation), do you trust Fred Johnson taking over? Or do you want to draft the best OT you can in the 1st round?

Fred would be a bridge to the next RT. He's the insurance policy.

2 game suspension for scumbag DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf

He's right though. Mitchell's name rarely ever gets called and he's only been in the league for 2 years now. The average person is not going to know his name

Cooper is different. For one he's one of the few white DBs in the league and he got a pick 6 in the SB. He's also had picks this year

Said that last night he deserved to miss the rest of the regular season which is 2 games.

He's about the best option I can think of as a stopgap until a rookie can learn and get ready. He's also the best option I can think of for a backup/swing. He needs to stay either way.

And... the price is right.

I agree. However i also think the eagles may be higher on cam williams or Hinton in their development than people on this blog. Williams was never expected to be in the Eagles plans in 2025. His scouting report basically said that. He was a raw project that needed about one or two years to get himself ready to be that. But the talent is there and hope with stoutland they can unlock it. He really should’ve went back to Texas because he was projected if he went back to be a first or second round pick this upcoming season.

How can we be high on them? We don't get to see them... and what we saw in preseason was not overly encouraging. They can take the slow path, which is wise. It worked wonders to keep Mailata under wraps for a long time, but Mailata had something those guys don't. He came as a a virtual clean slate with no bad habits to break. They aren't. Maybe Stoutland can work a miracle again and get All-Pro level play out of late round draft picks... but for the most part, his greatest successes have come with highly drafted players.

I couldn't care less about the average person though. Mitchell is very sexy to me, and we are very fortunate to have him.

He’s been everything that Nnamdi was supposed to be.

OL is my #1 priority in the draft. Day-three flyers are not the answer anymore. There is an opportunity to upgrade RG and get Lane's successor in the building.

Actually, I want to see how Hinton, Williams and Pierce develop. I think there may be some quality depth there. Not downplaying getting OL help despite this. Doesn’t look like a good OT draft.

I think secondary may need to be a priority as it is possible that three Ss are gone (Blankenship, Brown and Epps) and 2, maybe 3, CBs are gone (Jackson, Carter and maybe Ringo). I think Brandon Johnson and McWilliams may offer some depth although McWilliams has been inactive, which doesn’t bode well. Some decent prospects there for both positions.

Good draft for TEs.

If Phillips isn’t extended, OLB may be a position of need. Decent prospects for the position in the draft.

As always, BPA.

Fran, who is one of the media people who go softer than the Eagles than anyone else, was more bothered by the way the Eagles played than anyone I think. It was surprising yet refreshing to hear. He really trashed the Eagles after that game, which is rare for him, especially off a decisive final score. He said they went away from so much of the stuff that worked for them the previous two weeks, talked about how unacceptable their game plan to attack that defense was given how poor they are, and went on a rant about how Sirianni coaches like a faux tough guy(without using those words).

He said they're so terrified at the end of the first half to attack the defense and let it rip and try to go down and get points and have been that way all season, but when you're up 27-10 and the game clearly is over at that point, then you decide to show this fake aggressiveness. And honestly, I agree with him. I don't think the Eagles played particularly well in that game, especially the first half, and I realize Elliott missed FGs that would've given them more points, but I thought the coaching in that game was a disgrace. That's the kind of coaching that costs you playoff games, and if this team gets beat on the field in the playoffs because the players just get outplayed by the other team's players... I can accept that. But if I have to stew an entire offseason over this team's quest to repeat falling short because the coaches came out terrified to try anything aggressive on offense and reverted back to their bad and unimaginative habits, and because they waste end of half drives with BS, then nothing short of this offensive staff getting gutted in the offseason will ease my fury.

Yea I'm not sure how people were happy with that performance and think they're trending in the right direction. Sure they ended up scoring 29 and wouldve been more without the misses. That said they only scored 14 through 3 quarters and then finally did something at the end of the game. Played (coached) like cowards at the end of the first half.

Yet again the only reason they won was the defense kept the commanders off the scoreboard until the offense un-Fed themselves. 14 points through 3 quarters against an awful team with backups at corner

Don’t but you can have some faith the eagles and stoutland probably know what they are doing and success they’ve had in that area. I look at it this way, they also have other holes to fix. Stoutland has done a pretty damn good job over the years. Very rarely the OL is ann issue or not up to our standards. he’s done magic with mailata, Becton, vaitai and other over the last decade. Imo they have 1 poorer OL season in the last 5 seasons (2021-2025). It is this year. Because it’s this year it’s well got replace steen, get lane’s replacement and Dickerson/Jurgens need replacements as they don’t stay healthy and not what they were. I’m guessing the eagles have more faith in those guys being better next year. I also think they brought in guys like Williams, Hinton, Lampkin and Kendall cause stoutland truly believes in them and believes he can develop them to be helpful. At least some competent backups. Also not moving on or looking to start replacing Dickerson and Jurgens as they owe them too much to move on from in the near future.

I view it much differently than everyone else. it’s one 1 down year in the last 5 season on the OL. I don’t need to be going over the top and make it a MUST spend multiple high round picks on OL. I don’t believe 2025 is going to be the new normal for maitala, Dickerson and Jurgens going forward (not talking injuries but performance). Imo based off track record I’m guessing the eagles believe they bounce back. Heck jurgens not having rehab a back surgery all offseason helps and he can be training all offseason. I suspect they think mailata and Dickerson can just perform better next year. Reminds me when people were over lane as he got banged up in the 2019 and 2020 season wasn’t up to our standard. Yet 4 years later still playing at a high level (granted now more injury prone at 35)

Also i consider we have potential holes at multiple positions. S if Blankenship leaves (heck depth still an issue if he stays), starter corner (depth at corner too), potentially DE as Phillips might leave, goedert might be gone so starting TE and depth at TE, lack of WR depth (potentially a starter if Aj is traded). Heck can use another backup Qb as chance mckee isn’t here next year. Unfortunate but i don’t think it’s a MUST to have to use 2 high round picks on OL. Can the do it if guys fall to them? Of course but acting like it’s a requirement is just assuming 2025 is the norm for guys on the OL and not trusting stoutland on guys brought in that were assumed to be redshirt years essentially in 2025. We need potentially cheap staring talent at 3-5 other position. I’m not saying they can’t take 2 OL high but making it like it s a must is ridiculous imo.

Also point out for years people crapped on seumalo like he stunk every year. Meanwhile in reality he was better than good portion of starting RGs in the league by the time he left. I’m not saying steen is good but i also don’t think he’s nearly as bad as he’s made out to be on here. He’s an average starter in the league. Not that PFF is completely correct but have him as 18th out of 77 guards. 11th in pass block and 18th run block. 71.7 grade. I don’t believe he’s that good but he’s better than what he’s given credit for on here. It’s just everyone wants pro bowlers across the line. IMO i think lack of high end performance by other high paid guys not living up to their standard, exposes him more.

IMO howie, lurie and FO believe in stoutland’s ability to develop OL and ones he helped select. I do think they draft an OL early and possibly a second. But imo i don’t think they view 2 as a must and probably view his year as more of an outlier in terms of performance for Jurgens, Dickerson and mailata based off track record. If they are closer to 2022-2024 form, lane is healthy and good along with drafting his replacement then steen is fine for another year. Heck maybe he pulls a seumalo and makes a bigger jump his 4th year with a full year as a starter under his belt. Imo I’d love to upgrade but i don’t think it’s as drastic as getting Dickerson, Jurgens, mailata playing at the same level as 2022-2024 and finding lane’s replacement

Another dome coming our way 😔

The amount of people who don't realize the Chiefs are in Missouri is astounding.

Kansas City being in Missouri is a Missouri issue. It's just weird. Could you imagine Texas City, Arkansas? No! They decided it should give acknowledgement to both states and is instead called "Texarkana"... with two separate municipalities, one each in TX and AR, forming a single metropolitan area.

We're less than a decade away from 1/2 the teams in the NFL having a dome/retractable roof stadiums.

Bears, Titans, Chiefs, Browns, Redskins and most likely the Broncos are moving in to domes.

Indy, Atlanta, Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, Houston, LAR, LAC, New Orleans, Arizona, Las Vegas all play in domes.

This sucks.

Our sport is dying before our very eyes.

Oh, and he hits hard and tackles well too. Somebody yelled "milk check" and then got hit by the milk truck, lol.
