No doubt, it should be high on their list of needs if Phillips walks. They are lucky he was available at the deadline this year because before they got him, Ojulari and Uche were the depth with a retired BG joining them. They need depth at DE no matter what.

As far as in season trades, I’d argue was the best Howie has made. I loved it then. i love it even more now. Imo if Phillips stays healthy the talent is there. Possibility for him to get better playing more and more in the system around the guys we have.

getting ahead of myself here, but what scenarios need to happen for NFCCG to be in Philly. We know the Packers and Eagles have to win, then the Eagles have to beat the Packers. What about the others?

Packers do not need to win for the NFC Championship Game to be in Philadelphia.

Eagles would need to reach the NFC Championship Game and the Seahawks would need to lose to whomever they play in the divisional round. That is how the Eagles would host the game.

To get a divisional round home game we need the bears to lose.

To get NFCCG at the linc would need any of the 4-7 seeds (besides SF cause it would mean we lost) to make it to the NFCCG

I predicted that in the thread this morning, with the added bonus that they whine because they have to travel across the country to play a team with a losing record in the regular season.

Yeah, but the Niner D is really banged up. I said last night they may not have any starting LBs. This is one of two that went out this week.

Their O is feeling that Seattle D. Need to bring the same mentality we had in Buffalo and make them fold (like Seattle folded Brock near the end of the game).

I’d be more on this if Carolina had been playing well since their bye week in week 14. They’ve lost 3 of 4. their offense has been pretty bad over that time. They are averaging 16.5 ppg the last 4 weeks. Rushing attack by their backs is averaging 3.36 yards per carry (56.3 yards per game) over that time. Young has been under 200 Yards passing in 3 of 4 games.

Rams defense isn’t very good but, panthers have really been bad since that rams game.

He was awful preseason and looked like he at least belonged on an NFL roster as a developmental guy. Also think Kendall could step in for Jurgens if Jurgens goes down. So future backups next year look promising.

Williams footwork needs refinement but man, he has a violent punch.

A competent OC would be drooling over the idea of a Barkley/Bigsby/ backfield.

That isn't a cut every RB can make.

Bring in an OC that accepts the fact that Hurts is a game manager. Draft/sign TE1. Get the OL healthy. Build around the run game and use creative routes for WR1/WR2.

FWIW, I wanted Hairston, Campbell, or Emmanwori the way the board was falling. When Hairston was off the board, knowing that S can be a little scheme dependent, I was excited about the Campbell pick. Too much weirdness with Simmons I didn’t want to deal with - after Dillard I’m a little scarred.

Emmanwori looks like a player. I'd love to have him on this defense.
