Backside shoulder throws exist, and with the arm you can make those. The defenders were quite a bit on top, 2-3 yards, you drive a backside shoulder throw you're at the 2 yardline. Hurts can't make that throw though very well because you need a lot of velocity to hit it.

We aren’t getting out of most of these contracts this season, so we are stuck with the starters.

We need an OT to replace Lane. We need a WR to replace Dotson if no one else. Absolutely need a guard. And of course, need a TE.

I’d take a stab in the mid/late rounds on a high upside QB. Jalen is who he is. There is room to get better, though he’s not terrible.

But the most important thing is we need an OC from a different system who is creative and brings new ideas. This playbook and play calling is just atrocious. Combine that with declining OL play and this is what you get.

Maybe Carter isn’t healthy, but Davis was better this year and better tonight. By a lot.
