EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Fair enough.

Will he stay? Probably. But at the same time all of us are sick today because of him. Wasn't a single bad decision in a playoff game but the second time his choices led to toal ineptitude and a blown season. This one is worse because he had all but one offensive starter back and a wide open field. This one hurts and it's his fault.

If we do hire a proven offensive mind Siri will be safe for a couple more years at least.

Resting starters or not, no difference. This offense was good enough to beat the Raiders in the playoffs. It wouldn’t have mattered who we played.

Be surprised if this happens, but if Niners go on to win SB how do you look at it ?

Hey at least we lost to the SB champs or damn we should have another SB trophy !

I look at it like 🤮

As everyone knows, its hard to repeat. And those are all reasons why.

Ill take the every other year rotation though. So its also worth it to stick with Siri unless/until he ruins next season again.

Hes as likely or more likely than anyone to bring us back to the bowl next season.

Hell, we would be spoiled if we just kept winning it every 5 years like the 2017-2024 gap between lombardis.

We really have become spoiled to the point of sounding absolutely ridiculous when it comes to our lack of patience with coaching.

I said it last time fans thought Siri was on the hot seat. Teams like the Browns hire new HCs every year or 2. And eagles fans now expect to do the same thing and remain super bowl contenders. Its idiotic. We need to have more patience with a coach who has never missed the post-season and has brought us to 2 super bowls and won one with a terribly limited QB.

Only 9 teams have repeated as SB champs, but only NE and KC in the modern era. Some O players referenced how hard last season was on them in TC, and 4 of 5 OL being dinged, carrying an injury or just out is the most obvious highlight.

Its another discussion for later, but I think teams in later stages of the playoffs should be able to delay the offseason OTAs from a player health perspective.

Frank Reich or Matt McCoy offensive consultant (both have pasts with Sirianni) and run it back with KP🤮

Doubt it.  I don't think they want anymore to do with, anything related to, Sirianni's stale/vanilla offense.

I have a feeling whoever they bring in next season will be a game-changer - highly explosive/high energy type offense.

Whether it works or not will remain to be seen but I'll be shocked if we don't get something close to the complete opposite of what we witnessed this past season.

Ant absolutely nails it

I was for going for the 2 seed and I agree. We weren't beating anyone yesterday

Don't forget he constantly leaves a clean pocket

He does. Sometimes it’s on him but sometimes I think it’s because the defense immediately covers whatever dumb crap they called and he knows where the play is headed if he doesn’t try and make something happen.

No point in continuing to stand there if everyone on that side of the field is completely covered and or has their back to you locked up with a DB.

There was a play last night where Brady mentioned Jalen had plenty of time but on the replay the receivers were running away from him and completely blanketed.

I actually think his biggest issue is waiting too long to make something happen sometimes and just sort of staring into space as he takes a sack. I guess it’s pick your poison.

If he isn’t going to run anymore though (or can’t) then that’s a big problem.

Hurts sucks. He can’t run, he can’t throw, he can’t see, and he cannot process.

Hurts sucks. A little strong, but he is definitely limited as a passer.

He can't run. It is starting to look that way. Drake Maye and Justin Herbert looked like prime Mike Vick last night in comparison.

He can't throw. He is only good at certain throws, college offense throws.

He can't see. This for sure. Last play, 4 men rushing and 3 around Goedert, seems like there was single coverage somewhere.

He cannot process. 100% agree. They are discussing this on the radio this morning. The offense is limited by what Jalen is comfortable with, and he is never going to be a QB that can read pre snap, and adjust post snap and know the 3rd and 4th option will be wide open.

They only scored 23 points. We only got 3 points off of their 2 TOs. This loss is 0% on the defense.

You can't say zero percent. They played like arse and they should have totally shut down that offense. They actually played even worse after the Niners lost Kittle, it was inexplicable.

Baun was in a blender all game. The DL was completely silent. The safeties were totally lost. They gave up more big plays in that game then they probably did over the last half of the season.

It was mostly the offense, but the defense majorly dropped the ball and it was right out of the gate with that initial TD drive. Totally a shot in the arm to the Niners to give them the confidence they needed the rest of the game

Well if he wins the superbowl again next year I'll forgive him. I'll take a Superbowl every other year. I went 56 years w/o ever seeing one.

Here's the Eagles FA list to consider for resigning, releasing, etc.:

  • TE Dallas Goedert

  • S Reed Blankenship

  • DL Jaelan Phillips

  • ED Azeez Ojulari

  • WR Jahan Dotson

  • DL Brandon Graham

  • P Braden Mann

  • ED Joshua Uche

  • TE Kylen Granson

  • G Matt Pryor

  • LT Fred Johnson

  • RB A.J. Dillon

  • LB Nakobe Dean

  • ED Ogbonnia Okoronkwo

  • G Brett Toth

  • FB Ben VanSumeren (RFA)

  • QB Sam Howell

  • TE Grant Calcaterra

Try to keep Mann, Toth, Johnson and maybe Phillips. I would love to have Dean but with Campbell in the wings it's a luxury we probably cannot afford. Goedert is prolly gone.

Spoiled or not is this the most open field in years? Yep. Doesn't get more open.

Top 3 roster? Yep. Most expensive offense in the league.

Bounced round one because of Nick and a completely inept decision? Absolutely.

We may be spoiled but he had a mostly healthy team, a very talented one, every opportunity to win again and he dragged them down. That is egregious.

The other coach yesterday did a masterful job of coaching up. All he had to do was not get less out of more.

Bro you just agreed with every point and said sucks is a little harsh. You ever watch Office Space when they say "what exactly do you do here?”

We'll disagree. I'm done with the guy who acts and coaches like a clown.

The Eagles were the first offense up to that point who had not scored 20 points in the playoffs. Every team up to that point had scored more points than the 49ers.

I see your point. Zach Wilson sucks. Jalen Hurts is average.

Jalen Hurt was average. Now he just sucks.

I’m not even correcting his spelling.

Odds of Sirianni getting fired open at +76,890

Also I don't care for Hurts being "stoic" ,act like it matters whether you win or not.
