The offense is happy to bleed clock, while the defense is designed to force long sustained drives… not exactly a fantasy football jackpot.

A blend of 3-and-outs and explosive plays get to that mix of stats.

7-2 with wins over GB, KC, Tampa, LA, Minny, and Americas poop team…

So far so good.

I still think there was something fishy with that Luka trade.

It's stupid enough to want to trade a top 5 player in their prime who just got you to the NBA finals. But if youre going to do that, why only negotiate with the Lakers? If youre really going to trade Luka, open it up to the entire league and say "OK NBA we're trading Luka......give us your best offer" Instead you get one 1st round pick and Anthony Davis who's still very good but everyone knows he cant stay healthy and is on the downside of his career.

I really think this trade was done on some shady terms maybe with the league secretly involved so the Lakers can get Luka.

Coincidentally the Lakers sold for $10 billion back in the summer so I’m sure that was just impeccable timing.

Completely agree...the whole thing stinks of collusion between Mavs-Lakers-NBA leadership to make the Lakers relevant for viewership purposes again. 1.7% Mavs get the #1 Lottery pick, yeh BS on that falling the way it did. Complete conspiracy, and I am not one that believes in conspiracies.

That's more than fair.  I agree that fat slob Luka had to go instead of getting a mega max contract but it should have been a bidding war instead of negotiating with 1 team.

Luka has changed his personal fitness level but it only happened because he was shocked into it and feels differently in LA.

They begged him for years to get into shape in Dallas and he refused.

He cost himself about 100 million dollars.

Fat slob Luka still got the Mavs to the Finals. Maybe the Mavericks should have worried about improving the team around Luka instead of getting rid of him, who is a top 5 player in their prime still. I still would have gave him a super max because even if he never delivered a title, he still puts people in seats and sells merchandise and jerseys and is one of the most popular players in the league. Niko was an idiot for trading him and everyone knows it. Dallas won't sniff a Finals for a long time which is fine with me being a San Antonio fan. I hate the Mavs.

But I do agree if youre dumb enough to trade Luka, you should have opened it up to the entire league and not just the Lakers.

It’ll be fine. Hurts had a rough day against a good defense.

The same defense that gave up 40 points to the cowboys.. without lamb.

The only bright spot in that game was the defense was great. But unfortunately 10 weeks into the season that poor performance is not because of GB's defense. This offense isn't even above average, they're bottom 25%.

Hard to find a bright spot on the offense.

but ..... 7-2.

The best thing that can be said about the offense is that they didn't give up a sack. The playcalling was terrible for most of the game. Hurts had one of the worst games in awhile throwing the ball. He was not accurate and is lucky that he didn't throw an interception. As usual, he did make several big moment passes but he was off target a fair amount. I don't know what the offensive game plan was but they did not return to concepts that worked in the first drive. They had no consistent plan of attack and they kind of lucked into the TD with the outlet pass to Barkley that he turned into a big gain. Why they don't try to have a developed RB passing game given the results is just baffling. It seemed like they continued to run into stacked boxes. They have a 3rd and 8 with less than 90 seconds in the game and they basically conceded that the Packers were going to get the ball back. That was the time to run a go route or run a slant to AJ. Their obliviousness to obvious solutions is mind boggling.

I don't know who's fault it is, but that offense has too many weapons to look that bad. GB has a good defense, punts will happen, but they shouldn't lead the league in 3 and outs. Something is majorly screwed up and it obviously starts with coaching. It's ridiculous. If Howie and Jeff aren't looking to bring in Daboll as a consultant/offensive mind the same way they look to improve the roster every chance they get they are dropping the ball.

Yep, with a top 3% of talent. Again, they lead the league in 3 and outs.

Right before this trade happened alot of talk about the league was that the product wasn't good, ratings were down, too many 3's, not enough defense, etc.

What better way to boost interest then for the leagues most popular team the Lakers, acquire a top 5 superstar player.

In other news...Nico Harrsion has finally been fired! After regular chants at home games of "Fire Nico!", ownership has caved.

Dallas is a dumpster fire for sports teams right now. At least you have the Dallas Stars.

In the second half, there was also a play where the throw to Goedert in the flat is wide open, but Hurts rushes the throw and doesn't give Goedert time to clear and turn his head around. Would have been a very easy conversion for a first down, but Hurts seemed to panic and the offense went 3 and out.

I thought Hurts had two really bad throws. The one you point out above and the miss when he had Calcaterra down the seam for a TD and overthrew him.

Big W for the Birds. Don't care how it looks. And had $1200 on them. All is well!

So far so good.

We have the highest strength of victory among all playoff teams.

BTW...the Cowboys are the lowest in the NFL.

I don't like how the offense is performing. However, people called this year's schedule brutal and yet we're a top team in the NFL.

I thought he did a good job of not taking sacks with a lot of pressure, so with what he was facing, especially with Lane out, he was OK. I get he rushed some throws and missed them. Pissed me off in the moment as a fan, but not as bad now. Run up the middle, run up the middle, run up the middle, and punt all night didn't make his job any easier ALONG with taking forever to get the call in so Hurts doesn't have time to adjust anything. Nick can't take over calling plays because he sucks as well, but Detroit cares more about saving their season than personal feelings of a first year OC. Bring in BD and use the next few weeks to implement some ideas. I said this above but Howie needs to treat offensive coaching personal the same as he would a player who gets cut.

Completely uneccessary, but factual. 🥲

Most definitely. He had a number of throws that just looked off too. Maybe the cold was bothering him.

How do you trade Doncic and Grimes and not get much back? And give Doncic away to the Lakers???? Never thought you could outdo the futility of the Sixers deals in trading Brad Daugherty for Roy Hinson, Moses Malone Malone for Jeff Ruland and a bunch of young players & picks for Andrew Bynum's corpse. But that one takes the cake.
