Bruce Arians is an interesting option if they were open to bringing in a senior offensive consultant mid-season.

Super Bowl winning offensive coach. Worked with Peyton, Big Ben and Brady. 73 so he wouldn't be looking to take KP's job.

@mattwill getting spicy on a Friday

Laporta and Arnold out for Lions.

Cowards draw meets no risk it no biscuit. I like it!

The difference is Hurts says there are things he can improve to improve the offense. Mailata says the same with "we are one block away" and how he needs to play better to improve the offense.

Meanwhile Brown never once says anything about how he can improve or help. It's always just a pity party about not getting the ball. If he took accountability once in awhile, his message would be better received.

I agree, and the other players say it the more polished way. AJ has also said team first, wins are what matter, his suggestion was simply to "set the killers loose" or however he said that. It is what it is with him. His degree in school was actually journalism lol.

Am cool with that.

Another thing about the offense on Monday. Saquon theoretically housed a TD.

The play call, the line play, the RB effort was all long TD.

Parsons clearly and obviously cheated with a leg whip and the scumbag refs ignored it.

Everything else about the play was perfect.

It’s a penalty but it’s not cheating. Parsons made a smart play.

I just don’t believe they’d bring anyone in at this point or they would’ve done it by now

Well that's not encouraging

Rest him for the stretch, can't have these key linemen continue to re-aggrevate injuries and be worse off in the long run.

He didn't really have a ton of production at UT, and the agility tests didn't indicate that he develop into a pass rusher. He has long arms and was good against the run in college, but is relatively light so there were likely concerns about how he'd hold up in the pros. And then airing his teammates dirty laundry to the press might have been a red flag of sorts. So, Day 3 sure... Round 7, don't know. At the time I figured it might have something to do with commitment to the game - as he's smart, and will be successful beyond playing interior DL.

Round 4-5, sure. Round 7 is ridiculous. Rotational run defenders with upside for more who happen to be smart are worth more than a 7th round pick.

If we had an offense moving the ball at will, and a QB throwing 3 or 4 TDs every week it becomes survivable to have an INT every so often. Especially with a defense like ours. Hiding behind the turnover free wins a lot of games (yes its true) is just a bit disingenuous. Its yet another Hurtscuse.

So your standard ranges from 51-68 TDs per season? The low end of that hasn't been reached by the top QB TD pass stat in years. In 2020 Mahomes had his record year of 50 TD passes and that didn't even meet your threshhold. If that's the standard you expect from a QB no wonder. 🤣

Wow...LaPorta is a big piece for Goff. Does Quinton focus on St Brown?

Penalties are called for cheating on the field. You don't follow the rules so you get a penalty.

The point is not the proper language to describe Parson's actions. Its that it was a perfectly executed run play that was only stopped by a leg whip which should have resulted in a 1st down around the Packers 40.

They did not get a 55 yard TD run that they earned with great execution. They did not even get the 15.

They did everything right and that is important going forward when lots went wrong.

Easily attainable numbers for Tanner McKee

I think a lot of the Hurts frustration and debate comes from the following...

When Hurts has a good game passing, the Eagles are essentially unbeatable. With their defense, OL, running game...if he actually clicks as a passer for 4 quarters, any game against any team is a meaningless laugher. In games where he either passes poorly or rarely, they still generally win all the time.

There is going naturally be a collection that wonders what things would look like with a QB who passes better more often. I understand the other things he brings to the table and it's not my intention of this post to bash him. But it is worthy of reflection of how utterly impossible it is for any team in the NFL to even remotely compete with the Eagles when their QB simply has a good game throwing the football.

But wait, how can he have a good game passing if the coach doesn't trust him, he's ass, trash, a moron? Does not compute. 🤣

@mattwill Eagles 29 and Lions 18

Bonus no one in this board touches a b00b on Sunday (or Saturday for that matter)

Double bonus - Eagles create 2 or more turnovers

So they have another year of injuries? Weren't they plagued last season or am I thinking of the one before that?

Just make your bonus prediction of majority of this blog will still be upset at something if they win.

If you make it, you win the game; in the end not converting it was a 15-yard difference, IMO of the likely outcome of a punt from there.

But here’s the thing. Fifteen yards with only thirty seconds to go is huge. It’s a massive difference in field position. That’s basically forcing the Packers to have to complete two long passes instead of only one. You’re making it twice as difficult for them. And that’s only if you get a touchback. The odds are that a competent NFL punter (which Mann obviously is) could comfortably hit the ball out of bounds at the ten yard line.

A punt was the obvious play there. Frankly I don’t see any other choice since a field goal would have been too risky and wouldn’t have even won the game.
