Dean is becoming a stud. Gotta keep him.

I wasnt a fan of Dean when drafted I thought he was too small and injury prone but after last year I was sold on him, then he got hurt and I thought thats a real tough injury to come back from and I thought even if he did come back hed be a shell of himself but since being back he looks better than before the injury.

Hes just so instinctive and quick to the ball, I always thought he was really good playing down hill but worried about his ability to play gling backwards and in coverage but the dude was targeted by one of the fastest players in the league 3 times and have up zero catches.

Ideally one doesnt want him in those matchups but he stepped up and surprised me

Im not sure how much he would fetch on the open market because of his injury history but id pound the table to keep him and im sure Fangio will too.

Not sure what that would mean for campbell but its a good problem to have.

Unfortunately As much as Id like to keep Jordan Davis as well im sure some idiot team will offer him 600 billion in FA because there are alot of stupid teams out there

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

DAL is going to beat a team that is 2-7, soon to be 2-8, that at best will win two more games this year.

Campbell has shown he can be good LB. Dean looks to be a next level LB. Dean running with Gibbs and Williams while blitzing in between plays shows me he can do it all. I'm keeping Dean even if that means finding a new way to utilize Campbell.

We have Campbell for 3 more seasons after this plus an option for an extra.

We have Baun for 2 more seasons after this. So there is a clear transition plan.

Depth is also important.

I don’t see a problem keeping Dean in theory. There is the issue of money/cap space and how that impacts our ability to keep Carter, Davis, Mitchell and DeJean. There is also the issue of Dean’s inability to stay healthy. So it’s more a contractual issue than a football one in my mind.

To be fair, if Gibbs didn’t decide to hand fight he could have had that ball easily. Dean was on another level last night. He’s had drastic improvement in his game over the past season and a half. He started last year looking like a jag, then turned into a solid piece. Now…hopefully it keeps up and he stays healthy. We should hold our breath and wait to see how the rest of the season shakes out.

Steichen came from SD but my point is, if the second year OC who took over play calling the year prior is an "outside influence" then anyone not named Sirianni or Patullo is also an outside influence by that definition. And if "needing an outside influence" is another way of saying Sirianni/Patullo can't do one of the primary responsibilities of their job, then I think I know where most of the problem is.

Siri has shown hes not a good playcaller, and patullo is just a Siri echo chamber and has also shown to be a poor play caller.

Steichen and Moore both made it work, even brian johnson wasnt horrible as that offense was 7th in scoring but the defense was awful.

I think siri is a good coach, I know hes talked about how much influence he has on the offense and I think his involvement needs to be minimal or atleast checked by someone who has a different mindset and philosophy like Moore.

Patullo and Siri is a bad combo. If im lurie and im financing the leagues most expensive offense im expecting more than 30th ranked offense, then again if eagles some how manage to get back to the superbowl and somehow win, no ones going to care about the " stats"

I've watched the game a few times. I love watching a dominant defense play and we got one. This was a statement game by the defense. Told them the NFC belongs to us and put the NFL on notice. They said not in our house, not in our town, not in our conference. Showed exactly why this team should be, not only respected, but downright feared.

The offense got the job done. It wasn't pretty but the receivers were being held all game long. The only reason the flag at the end of the game is a surprise is because they just didn't call it all game. These receivers don't drop that many passes but it's hard to catch the ball when you have someone holding one of your hands down.

If Jalen is going outside the game plan, it's because the game plan sucks. Turn off Patullo's mic and let Jalen run the show.

The Raiders are so poorly coached. They ran there?

You act as if you’re 100% sure Patullo doesn’t call a run in that situation. 😂

And just like that, the Cowboys defense looks pretty good again. Williams is definitely an impact player. With the win tonight they stay alive - and will be that much more determined to win next week against us.

Dallas usually gives us a run for our money - next week probably won’t be any different.

Yup, yesterdays game was the most dominant defensive game since the superbowl.

Jalen phillips has transformed the D from good to dominant

Last time Hurts shut off Patullos Mic he brought em back from double digits in 4th quarter against a really good rams D and there was talk that they let hurts out of his straight jacket

This team is so TO adverse that they play super conservative and vanilla and just rely so much on analytics that it makes for real ugly offense unless you have a running game that can spring 60 yard runs every game, they dont have that this year☹️

Raiders suck a lot, but yeah q williams was a good get for them.

So close to great moments in DAK STATS there! 5 very important passing TDs were there for the taking

Hard to say really. PHI has been dominant in the last few meetings. I think DAL plays better only because it’s against PHI but they lose. Need a good divisional game.

17-20 PHI @mattwill

Respectfully, that's not what I said. What I said was, they worked hard on making sure Jalen lacks exactly nothing during the time he's been the Eagles QB. That is a statement about the building philosophy of the team, and where they're investing their resources, not about Hurts' level of play without weapons. I was saying I have my doubts the TEAM would build that way, based on how they've approached things so far in his career.

That's fair. I probably assumed an argument you weren't making, that gets made sometimes by others, my mistake.

Who would you have brought in instead.... that wasn't already committed to an NFL team, since NFL teams can block other teams for jobs that aren't promotions (and remember the OC position doesn't count as a promotion for an assistant coach)?

I had this conversation with someone a month or so ago and I said Bobby Slowik who is also on this list

Eagles offensive coordinator search: 7 potential Kellen M...

Moore change is coming

They had someone else, I think Darrell Bevell? Both have had success calling plays and both were available in February. The Eagles did zero due diligence, they had no intention on signing someone outside the org

That's what I was saying. It felt like the lazy route.

What if scenario: Eagles keep playing like this, turn up the offense somewhat in the playoffs (not as good as last year but enough to win), and are carried by the defense even more so than last year, and win the SB again. It becomes even more obvious they won mainly because of defense...

Someone earlier suggested blowing up the offense and doing what's necessary to keep the defense together. Do you find ways to save $ on offense (trades restructures, etc) and invest everything possible/reasonable in retaining defense?

Or: do you trust that just like they were able to replace last year's guys who left, they can let some go & just keep the core?

In short: choosing defensive players over offense in your investment plan?

Well even though Arizona took care of them with a 2-8 record, I honestly didn't expect the Raiders to do anything. The Boys Wins this year:

GMen - 2-9

Washington - 2-8

Jets - 2-8

Raiders -2-8

They have not beaten a team with a winning record this season and have not won back to back games this year. They are 2-1-1 at Home and 2-4 on the Road this year. It's a division game so yes anything can happen. And yes they do play better at home but the Birds are taking their Undefeated Kelly Greens on the road.

Yep, said something similar. He's way over his head. The early 2000s Bucs/Ravens teams had generational defenses and bad offenses, but you expected that with the talent they had on that side of the ball. There is no excuse for this Eagles team. They just won a SB and have generational talent on the OL, WR, and RB. Hurts isn't a great passing QB, but Nick is pushing protect the ball too much, and the OC is not ready. Even still, he shouldn't look like this. I've said this a few times, but Howie is always on the hunt for better talent to improve the roster, but he's content with this crap we are seeing from KP without pushing a consultant on Nick? If that pisses him off, then too bad.

They need another mind in there because there is no excuse for this crap with the players they have. That doesn't mean everything has to change, but someone needs to help them tweak things or to radio down to KP during the game and say I'm seeing this, so try this next series. That also doesn't mean they are going to be suddenly be the Rams of the early 2000s. I'd be happy with not using two TE who suck even though it doesn't work, not having the worst 3 and out in the league, and better trees. It's not too much to ask, but they aren't capable.

The one thing I have noticed about Hurts / this offense is that they seem to be able to respond / turn it on when they need within the game flow but then struggle to put the game away. Even this last week, Lions go down get a TD and the Eagles come right back. Then when they have a lead, they struggle to put games away.

Part of is design and I think part of it just how Hurts is wired, he plays his best and up to his potential and takes more chances when they are down and need to score. But when they have lead, the emphasis on avoiding turnovers gets turned up the max. We have been winning but its a heart attack every game.

F this offense, if they aren't going to utilize it properly why waste the money? Send AJ somewhere else. Smitty is a superior #1 at this point. Draft a 2, keep Dotson as 3 (if he would even want to stay). Draft a TE.

Basically flip the script, instead of drafting on defense to keep it cheap, draft cheap offensive pieces to pay the defense. We have a young group with an established DC who isn't a Fing idiot and isn't going anywhere. The offense is a revolving door helmed by a head coach with zero clue on scheme.

Of course, it probably isn't feasible. But if it was, I'd be all for it if they could just keep smitty and saquon. They would never trade hurts in this scenario, but I would. Jettison AJ and Hurts for picks, draft offense and pay the young defense.
