Any player getting an extended contract this season? Blankenship? Nakobe?

Just curious.

During the season? I don't think we do that anymore.

JJ McCarthy is so bad

He's killing Jefferson's value in FF this year angry

Sirianni, an offensive coach, has one of the best starting 4 year resumes of any HC ever. Hurts has one of the best starting 4 year resumes of any QB ever (since becoming a starter, not from first being drafted). We're 8-2, #1 seed in the NFC with the highest strength of victory in the NFL. We've got a top 5 WR tandem, the reigning rushing champion, and arguably the best OL coach in the gamr. And yet we're all insanely pessimistic about this team's offensive outlook. It's pretty wild.

To be clear I'm not saying anyone is wrong here either. The offense has major flaws. It's just kind of insane how discordant our perception of them is vs the resume on paper.

Isn't that where the whole "there's more than box stats"

If all he wants to do is contribute, then why is he whining like a chick after 120 yards, 2 TDs, and a win?

He wasn’t wrong.

Absolutely. But this takes that to an extreme. Hurts/Siri have been to the SB twice in their first 4 years after taking over a broken team. MVP performance from Hurts in both. Top 10 in wins from a QB in his first 5 years ever and he didn't even start the first in onr. Siri has the second most wins of any coach ever in his first 4 years. First coach since Gibbs to go to the SB twice in his first 4 years. It's not just that the Siri/Hurts combo should be good on paper. They should be the stuff of legends. And yet...

And yet they look awful? Agreed. They need to open the playbook up. Take the training wheels off. If hurts is truly a terrible qb, let us find out. Instead we have a 50 mil qb who we treat like Trent dilfer with the ravens

Huh? You said all he wants to do is contribute.

If that's the case, then why did he run to Instagram and whine after 120 yards, 2 TDs, and a win agains Minnesota?

Is that not contributing?

His post, if it was about the eagles, was 100% correct. Nothing wrong with it. Players, Siri already says none of it is a big deal in the locker room. So who cares what he posts

Uh.....he posted "Using me, but not really using me" after the stat line 120, 2, and a Win.

He doesn't "just want to contribute".

He was right. That’s what happens when they use him vs when they don’t

Suuuurrrreee

The offense completely took off last week when they forced the ball his way a dozen times

Also get Grant Calciterra off the field and put someone in there that can actually block and maybe the running game won't be as ineffective. Also while we are at it, utilize Tank more while giving Barkley less touches.

Yes and yes.

Oh ok, thanks.

I thought Howie still did "in season" contract extensions.

AJ had 6 receptions that went for first downs vs Detroit. And a PI call that gave us the game.

Considering he had 11 targets and we ran 69 plays, I’d say that’s a decent impact

@mattwill

Stars are aligned against us this week. We don't beat Dallas in Big D that often and only once ever with Dak at QB. Also, the D has just played two heroic games and will not be able to put up a 3rd in a row though they will still play fairly well. Not much to say about the O who will only be average at best. This one was marked as a loss on my schedule all along.

Boys 27 Birds 17

Bonus: Hurts is sacked 4 or more times and has over 33 pass attempts.

Howie said he does not do in season extensions

I get that. I'm also referring to "reports" that Jalen Hurts is aloof or something and not buddies with everyone. We criticize people because they have money and are successful...if any of us were that successful and had money we would be at risk for the same behavior. Having fame and money goes along with ego and striving for excellence. Some people handle it with humility, others are vocal and showy about it. Some players flaunt their money, others don't. You see it with Hollywood, the final product of a movie or show might be great and fans don't know until later that there were issues on the set, people on the cast or crew had problems with each other.

It's very easy for us to judge them. But then look in the mirror and think about how you act at your job. Many of us are not doing our jobs and instead posting about our sports team on the internet. People slack off at work, don't work as hard for a manager they don't like, get extra motivated for certain reasons like trying to get a promotion or bonus. Then we criticize athletes and celebrities because of envy. They have a lot of money, so they should be perfect and never complain about anything. That's unrealistic. Any of us bums sitting on the couch watching these games, if we were put into a situation with a lot of money and fame we'd face the same realities, and others would be critical of us and expect perfection just because of the salary.

I agree but it’s hard to relate to the level of dissatisfaction and pettiness that Brown is displaying. Normal people don’t have guaranteed contracts. If we are a pain in the ass and not performing, we get fired and that’s that.

Well you're using stats without the context though

How many of those QB wins were the defense bailing out the offense and QB?

How many of those Siri wins are from the talent winning despite bonehead playcalling/design or even due to the defense winning the game?

Fans are passionate and want to see better results while some feel they should shut up. Maybe let those fans have whatever experience they have as a fan?

If a fan wants to see better results but another fan wants that fan to just enjoy the win.... why do they feel the need to moderate fandom?

Sometimes even if we are performing. This clip is pretty much me being bought out by one company about 10 years ago:

They scored six more points than they did the previous week when he had zero 2nd half targets amd only 2 receptions for the game. They killed it

DeSean Jackson is a hack! A shock jock! Who does he think he is? Did he ever even play at this level? Looking for clicks!

Later in the interview he went on to blame Chip Kelly for AJ Brown's issues. (sarcasm)

He doesn't "just want to contribute".

That proves the stats aren't his only motivating factor. He wants to be used appropriately.

But aren't you kind of proving his point? The stats and history say Sirianni is a special coach, as fans we've never seen anything close to this level of sustained winning in living memory, the 2024 NFC Championship and SB win was as perfect a pair of performances as you'll see but here we are 8 months later and you're suggesting Sirianni's a lucky bum who's been carried by the talent who win despite him and Hurts bumbling around.

It's absurd, like being presented with a trunk full of gold and precious stones and spending all your time complaining that the trunk is a bit plain.
