EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Like the idea of 5 healthy OL to show what the offense would look like. At the minimum, resting the injured players makes a lot of sense for the latter part of the season and playoff. Let them take the time to heal and rest sounds like a smart idea.

It's always something. I'm not criticizing you by saying that, but the OL doesn't design trees that look as basic as KP.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Lord knows we all complain about the Eagles’ offense. AJ is complaining too, but without naming names. He seems willing to be the lightning rod for the players so more power to him. JMHO.

Agreed. Though I dont like his comment yesterday using Barkley's name to make a point which threw the OL under the bus. Hopefully just a misstep and not a sign of escalation over the line.

Had lunch with a former Eagle from the 2017 team today. Said Howie texts with former players...and not just the high profile ones...to check in on them and see how they are doing. And Nick Foles is the nicest guy in the world.

who earned Tom Brady's belated but grudging respect😂

Sit Cam the bleep down

I get that this was a concussion and not related to his back but I agree. Just let Toth play this week, and maybe even next

This is largely where I'm at. We haven't been hearing this has been an issue in the locker room, despite many trying to manifest it into being so. We have heard other players aren't happy with the offense, and for all we know, they're fine with AJ speaking out figuring it means they don't have to.

That said, I wish he hadn't made the comment about Barkley. That can be taken as a back handed comment towards Barkley or the O-Line. Everything else, I haven't had an issue with.

Holy troll job

The Jeff Garcia led Eagles were a fun bunch to watch.

Sidenote, what ever happened to the horn after TDs? I always loved that.

Yea that was wildly uncalled for, I wish I could believe he does it on purpose to keep the media off of others but he's already displayed enough selfish behavior that it's hard to imagine he thinks like that.

But I can see how others think that based on the reports that the locker room doesn't have an issue with him.

I think he wants stats. But I also think he wants stats here. So he wants the offense to get better. If everyone just accepts things as they are because we are winning, then nothing will change. AJ is like the hurts hater in the blog not afraid to point out the issues just because there are wins coming. Some of us like the wins, but want to be better. Others are just happy we got the win and dont want to hear any of the noise. Everyone on both sides should appreciate a player not feeling complacent

Most of the time I prefer all of this stuff to be kept behind closed doors. But I dont think there is enough pressure on the eagles to change. They are largely motivated by protecting their high paid franchise QB and as long as wins are happening they wont be changing anything. AJ is providing extra pressure by calling out the poor offense in public, coming from a voice who matters rather than it coming from me on the EMB. I am very thankful to see it happen.

300+ pound guys slamming into him, especially in short yardage can't be good for a fresh concussion.

I don’t remember who it was but someone made a great point that it’s very possible that the others don’t have the personality to speak out like how AJ is and he’s basically speaking for them. So he’s saying what they’re all thinking and taking the negative consequences from it for them

Can you imagine how upset people would be here if Jalen threw this? Those same people would be dead silent if Josh Allen was our QB and did this.

They do it to show that even top QBs have bad games, but never consider that it's Josh Allen and a bunch of scrubs with a worse defense.

The passing game struggles with a top WR duo, Saquon and Goedert.

Can you imagine Hurts carrying an offense led by Cook, Shakir, Knox and Gabe Davis?

Proving my point with a guy Ive had on block for years that is doing exactly what I said would happen.

Allen throws too many interceptions. He has a worse interception rate than Tua. Maybe they need to run more hitch routes.

Yeah that's really nice to think about but theres no reason to let it get out in the media, all of that can be done behind closed doors.

You guys trying to make AJ out to be some hero for trashing his own team in the media are so off base.

How do you think Patullo feels about this? I'm sure he loves the addition pressure of having to learn on the job while AJ is crying publicly.

We already know they have a tendency to overcompensate so I am failing to see how this is accomplishing anything of real value except AJ annoying everyone else having to answer for his childish behavior

"Trashing his own team"

Talk about going to the extreme lol

I thought the same thing because I immediately saw Knox running all by himself on the replay. If Jalen misses a wide open guy on a random 3rd down in the first half it's a big deal for a couple of days. I don't care who you are, if you are a QB and your OL isn't protecting you in a given game you are going to miss guys and make big mistakes. See Mahomes, Patrick in last year's SB. Hell, QB's just plays miss guys/plays sometimes, it happens. For some reason a vocal minority of this fan base and the media feel the need to hold Hurts to a higher standard than every other QB.

So mad he's drawing up plays with all hitch routes that are now 3 yards short of the sticks.

@mattwill Streak still alive at 4-0. Badly needs to continue against the Cowgirls. Picking them over the Birds is blasphemy, so I’ll have to go with an unachievable score.

Eagles: 17 Cowboys: 17,5

Bonus: J. Hurts 2 TD passes

It starts with coaching IMO.

Good teams should beat bad teams. Not ‘find ways to win’ at the rate the Eagles do. Yes, any given Sunday/murphy’s law…but honestly Sir’s entire tenure has been like this. In an alternate universe I’m curious where we are at if dean didnt save the Jags game. I truly think if he doesn’t make that INT and the Eagles lose Siri was gone and we’re watching Moore as our HC right now.

At the core, it’s an X’s and O’s issue on game day. Every aspect of play doesn’t need to be perfect, but some consistency would be nice. We haven’t had that really ever under Siri. I think on 2 hands you can count the amount of games that there’s been a cohesive, 60 mins of play from the team under him.

I think it starts and ends with X’s and O’s before you worry about the pieces and how they’re contributing. There really isn’t a single player that’s been a ‘detriment’ in a way that you can’t excuse bad play calling. Injuries happen, regression happen and mistakes happen. Most of our critique on players is nitpicking.

Lurie has shown he is willing to have a short leash, with CHip and Doug. You can argue Andy got a year or 2 too long. I doubt Siri is gonna get the Tomlin treatment.

Hurts is held to the impossible standard of perfection and anytime he doesn't meet that he is attacked. Even touchdown passes, if it isn't perceived as perfectly on target and on time he gets attacked for it.

Maybe Patullo has been quiet quitting all season.

By all accounts there’s regular meetings, regular talks, regular input put in by players to coaches. We know that based off what the coaches and players have been saying.

We also know, by what we see called and play out on the field, that ZERO of that input has been used.

Childish, maybe…but gripes go up. When they go unheard, you go to the place that is meant to hold people accountable from the outside. I see nothing wrong with it. Think of the media like HR at a normal work place.
