Eagles 27, Turds 23

I'd feel better if this was a prime-time game; DAL is more comfortable in this time slot. Just the same, I think the Eagles are the better team.

Bonus -- Jalen Carter with a forced fumble or fumble recovery turnover

Is this the time slot/time of year they have issues with the sun in the Cowboys stadium?

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Weird that Jurgens is questionable with concussion. Players are usually cleared or they aren't. And if they are, they're good to go. Maybe they are contemplating giving that knee another week of rest?

He may not be cleared but just a formality at this point. Team may have cleared him to practice but he still needs clearance from an independent neurologist to fully be out of the protocol. I'm guessing that's what is happening and he's getting full clearance this afternoon or tomorrow.

@mattwill

27-20 Eagles

Bonus: D stands on their head again (4 sacks and 1 int)…garbage time Dak appears and the score doesn’t represent the BTA.

Bonus bonus: We get a Pickens melt down

Bonus bonus bonus: I have fun talking ish to my Cowboy fan brother in law all game since I’ll be in TX with the wife’s family for Thanksgiving.

I didn't think you could practice in full until you were cleared?

You can. It's a step in the whole process.

Phase Five: full football activity/clearance

Phase Five adds to the clearance of full football activity, including contact, by the club physician. To return to game action, a player must tolerate "full participation practice and contact without signs or symptoms,” and must also be formally cleared by the club physician before being eligible to return to play.

He is at worst the the 5th or 6th more important person in the Eagles organization (non-player only).

Yeah that's really nice to think about but theres no reason to let it get out in the media, all of that can be done behind closed doors.

You guys trying to make AJ out to be some hero for trashing his own team in the media are so off base.

How do you think Patullo feels about this? I'm sure he loves the addition pressure of having to learn on the job while AJ is crying publicly.

We already know they have a tendency to overcompensate so I am failing to see how this is accomplishing anything of real value except AJ annoying everyone else having to answer for his childish behavior

You don’t hire a guy at this level to learn on the job. He should know the job. Maybe he will but to date he’s a bad hire.

This is absurd…the Eagles lost a top 5 LT of all time in 17 and won a SB.

And our LG was a shell of himself most of the year. Same goes for Cam, except he still is. And Stein is certainly no Becton. The o-line isn't what it was last year, that should be pretty obvious. Now with Lane out for the rest of the regular season who knows what it looks like from here on out.

Agreed. But he was hired, and AJ adding unnecessary pressure on him is just that--unnecessary

I understand but disagree. He's doing a bad job and it's unacceptable to let him continue to do a bad job.

I think it's important to understand that a coaching staff is like a dictatorship. They're responsible for implementing a directive and responsible for it's success. They don't open it up to discussion. It's their way or the highway. Players are conditioned from an early age to not question the coaches and follow the game plan. Sure, they will take it under advisement, if you're lucky, but many don't.

Unfortunately, this dictatorship is failing to get the job done. Hence, you have a player letting everyone on the outside know that it's not fixable.

Nope, this is so far off the mark and you really should know this. The Tom Coughlin days are long gone, and the problem with the Eagles is actually almost the opposite. The offense is TOO player friendly and reeks of lack of discipline, there is clearly a lack of pushing players outside their comfort zone, especially with Jalen. All manner of "this is my offense" or "Jalen didn't like this" when in reality it should have been 'this is something that we need, and we need you to work on it'.

And that comes from Lurie and Howie down, which also shouldn't be a surprise. "Emotional Intelligence."

I feel the need to specify this every time, but emotional intelligence is a good goal, however extremes of almost everything are usually bad, and this is no different. Too much catering, not enough concepts. No person worth their salt is going to think that somehow the Eagles are so bad that they hired someone (as a Head Coach) who didn't know how to add a crossing route to a scheme, that'd be a leaguewide embarrassment. And even if that did happen, Kellen Moore was here, so there's no way that would still persist now.

AJ doesn't make the hiring and firing decisions for the coaching staff, and neither do we or the media.

So why is he talking about their performance to all the people who can't do anything about it, and in the process making it even more difficult for said coaches to do their jobs?

It's illogical and it never won't be

Tons of guys learn on the job at the NFL level - that's actually a lot more common than it used to be. It's because more and more guys are getting in the NFL younger and skipping major coaching roles in college. There is far less of a work-up process. The only real consideration is that a lot of these people are hired at the start with teams that are pretty bad, so as they learn on said job, the teams are bad, and become good as time goes on. This is actually a problem for teams like the Eagles which frequently need offensive coordinators because there's far less to choose from with experience - we'd need to start looking through college ranks more and more to get ones to pluck, but in reality we just need to stop hiring young guys at OC period.

Bloggers preparing to glaze Josh Allen and say they wish we had a QB like him:

Hot take (at least outside of Eagles fandom). There are QBs that I do like more than Jalen, some of them are QBs some consider the top QBs or whatever. Josh Allen isn't one of them.

It's funny because I think Jalen is a little too cautious with the ball, but I actually think Allen isn't anywhere near cautious enough, and so I've never really been into his play much. Not sure if anyone else agrees but yeah.
