A total of 122 EMB members have submitted a prediction so far this season. By taking a pass last week on his Cowboys game @McMVP has nudged int a half game lead over the 12 posters who have predicted 11 Eagles wins, and thus have an 8-3 W-L record on their predictions.

Not quite. I am 8-3 and did not predict the Eagles to win all 11 games. There may be others as well.

Everything can be true. An NFL offense is highly interdependent.

Truth: The OL run blocks like crap. The offense is built around their run blocking and is devastated by the disappearance of that, which is also killing Barkley.
Truth: Barkley is not what he was last year.
Truth: The OL pass protection is not bad. A better OC and QB would be just fine with these pass catchers in this scenario to overcome the ground issues.
Truth: The OC has completely failed to adjust to the reality that the running game isn't what it was last year and that is hurting players on offense.
Truth: The OC is handcuffed by what he can and cannot do with Jalen Hurts at QB. The lack of respect for his passing impacts the fronts the defense sees, the running game, and they are not able to adjust and compensate by passing in volume to all parts of the field with a full route tree.

You don't have a bottom 5 offense because of 1 replaceable problem. They are all doing a bad job and have a hand in this. All of the above are true...but the media and fans seem to want to believe only one of these things are true and lay ALL the blame on that while absolving everyone else. Need to acknowledge that they are ALL a problem.

This is probably the most annoying/frustrating thing because it's the easiest to fix. It's not like they're limited by the talent. They're limited by the creativity of the idiots designing and calling the plays

His banged up offensive line plus downgrade at RG isn't helping the matter.

It's not all on Stoutland. It's a combination of injuries, personnel decisions and scheme. They have shied away from a consistent QB run game. They are not using Hurts as a consistent part of the run game at all and it has impacted the effectivness of running. The injuries to Mailata, Dickerson and Jurgens have made them less effective. The BVS injury likely impacted the usage of Calcaterra as a blocker. Steen isn't Becton but I don't think he's an issue. They have an issue at the coaching level using the most effective personnel. It's one thing for a play to fail because a reliable player makes a mistake or isn't healthy enough to make the play. It's another thing to use a player for something he cannot and has not ever done effectively. I don't know whether that is on Stoutland but it is also on Patullo and Sirianni. I bet Howie/Sirianni want Hurts used less during the regular season as a runner. It's on the coaches to figure out better ways to run the ball if that's the decision.

I like simple problems with one villian. This doesn't work for me.

he's right. the oline struggles, regardless of what you point to, be it injuries or lackluster play in general, it's an issue that has tons of ripple effects.

the other big point he brought up was the passing routes and how they do not help or play to hurt's strengths.

that 3rd and 2 play at the end of the game is still pissing me off!!!!!!!

Yeah, that should piss off any Eagles fan. Stuipd. The other interesting thing he mentioned that we don't think about often is that the coaching staff breaks things up it's not just KP. Having another outside mind come in and help with that can't hurt. If nothing else someone doesn't have the bandwidth if they are saying they weren't ready for 5 on the line. I'm sure that is true for the routes. Something is broken and the people who broke it can't fix it after 11 weeks of trying.

U do realize 3 OCs is not the 2022 season?

2023- Brian Johnson

2024- Kellen Moore

2025- KP

2022 was Shane Steichen

You said the last 3 OCs. And aside from that, your prior post I quoted said 3/4 OCs. Learn the meaning of words, please.

Agree, but what’s the most fixable? Hurts is the QB, no question. The OL has no chance to be as dominant this year. So yeah we’re pretty much back to changing the play caller and giving Tank more snaps.

@mattwill

PHI - 24

CHI - 13

Lol ok your one of those guys. So sorry.. last 2 and current.

Maybe your a Jalen supporter. Which is fine. I am not and never will be do to his limitations as a passer. Those limitations I truly believe have come to bite Us in the ass with teams defensive schemes.

Maybe I'm an a-hole, which I probably am but I wouldn't mind seeing Jalen get injured for a few games and see what this offensive scheme would look like with somebody else under Center

Well I do think playing the OL backups when the starters just aren't healthy enough to play at an appropriate level is also a move to be made. More snaps to Tank and a lighter load for Barkley are another (and failing to do so is part of the issue with the play caller).

Enough is Enough. Tank needs a fair shot at running the rock. Our offensive coaching are being a couple of spaghetti heads not giving him a chance. When he gets it, he hits the hole full speed. Barkleyis hesitant and dances around too much. The non existent run game lead by barkley is whats killing the offense. I refuse to place all the blame on poor oline play.

Replacing all of Will Shipley's snaps to Bigsby is a clear upgrade. If nothing else, Barkley can take all of Ship's 3rd down snaps and Tank can get short-yardage/1st downs.

It's a disgrace that Gipson is still on the roster and just shows the season long ineptitude of this coaching staff. It took injuries to Dillon and Shipley to discover Bigsby exists and can play. Just a total lack of understanding their own talent all season. And this falls on Howie too, because he never should have been added.

Devonta not practicing with a game in two days. Will be iffy. He finished the game Sunday though.

I think it's more concerning he's not even there observing. Maybe it's related to his personal matter flying alone? Just odd.

There was a play in the game where he came off the field hunched over and grimacing slightly after hitting the ground hard getting tackled and he waved off the trainers and then came back into the game. And then he pops up on the injury report with a shoulder/chest. I'm guessing that's where it happened. But Devonta is tough as hell, I find it hard to believe a shoulder thing is gonna keep him out of a huge game but we'll see.

Another thing to keep in mind. The Eagles defense just played 74 snaps against the Cowboys which is a season high. And the game is on short rest. Eagles offense needs to sustain some drives to keep them off the field, otherwise it might get ugly.

Chicago is a bottom 5 run defense, so this is the week.

@mattwill Eagles 32 16.

Tank gets 8+ carries finally w/ a 5+ yards per carry average.

Bonus--Rams stumble this week.

The backflip catch?

If we don't see a heavy dose of tank on friday then someone definitely needs firing. anyone, all of em, i don't really care. If they can't see that theres an opportunity to do something different then they don't belong coaching an NFL team.

I don't remember which catch it was.

The answer is to quietly start removing responsibility from Patullo behind the scenes. Maybe Nick or Scot starts calling plays but routes them through Patullo, as an example.

That's something that crossed my mind as well. Make "suggestions" to Patullo that he dam well better pay attention to. The downside is that it adds another layer and time to get a play in is already a problem. I guess if the "suggestion" were made before the previous play ended it could work?

Smith is out?
