I have the bird spatchcocked and dry brining in the fridge for tomorrow. First time cocking. Anyone have any tips about temp and time in the oven? It's a smaller bird, about 15lbs pre cocked.

Definitely not Howie's best year. He did some nice things, but pales vastly in comparison to his best work. Honestly, there's all the talk about how Eagles seasons live and die with how good their coordinators are. Maybe just as much they go based off of how good of an offseason/in season Howie had.

Howie's best offseasons were 2017, 2022, and 2024. All years they went to the SB. Whenever Howie has kind of a down offseason, the team suffers the following season. I think difficulty maintaining greatness coming off a SB from Howie's perspective has been just as impactful as difficulty keeping coordinators.

I’d run it at 425°F since a spatchcocked bird cooks fast. A 15 pounder usually finishes in about 75 to 90 minutes, but start checking around the 70 minute mark since ovens can vary. Go by temp instead of time. You want the breast around 160 to 165°F and the thighs a bit higher.

Don’t rinse the dry brine off. Just pat it dry, throw a little oil or butter on the skin, and roast it on a rack if you can so the air circulates. Let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes at the end and you’re good.

Another thing to keep in mind. The Eagles defense just played 74 snaps against the Cowboys which is a season high. And the game is on short rest. Eagles offense needs to sustain some drives to keep them off the field, otherwise it might get ugly.

It doesn’t matter where teams rank on run defense. All they have to do is run blitz on every telegraphed run play because there will be no consequences to doing so.

This is the easiest, most predictable run game in the league to stop.

Not sure about the bird, but im sure there are plenty of posters that could help you out with the cocking😉

Maybe they should be looking at the pass game coordinator and wr coach.

Last year it was Patullo and this year its been worse under Parks Frazier. Christian Parker is also a pass game coordinator but does a good job with his defensive secondary coaching. Might be time to make some changes there as well as replacing Aaron Moorehead at wr coach.

Illness might explain his absence and is at least a slightly optimistic chance he plays

These three games on the road in four nights is going to tell a lot. At FLA, then at NYI and at NJ.

If they can go 1-1-1 I’ll be mildly impressed. Two wins might only be possible if Vladar steals a game or Ersson plays like an NHL goalie not on the Oilers.
