The holes aren't there either. He might look slow because he's looking for something that's not there. He gets a pass from me because the issue for him is likely more physical than anything else. The rest of the offense is just garbage.

Saquon missed a block or 2 today but he quietly had a good game running the football IMO. 99% of his yards this year are basically him creating something out of nothing.

I’d be curious to see if he’s giving cues before run plays as well.

I figure they’ll really shoot for Frank Reich in the offseason. That’s a hire Nick would love. Howie and Lurie would love it. It’s a PR win.

I know I’m in all out pile on Hurts mode, but good OC candidates may not want to come to a team with huge expectations, a declining OL, and a limited QB that prevents you from opening the playbook. They may have trouble getting a good candidate.

Eagles fans really are probably going to make people not want to come here. Dynasty as an expectation is really rough. Frank though is different, he's used to it.

It's alright Nick and them have been staying up all week figuring things out

It already looks like Nick has stayed up all week figuring things out - nap time?

Honestly, where did this 'Dynasty or Bust' mentality even come from? I feel like it's from seeing the best defense most Eagles fans have ever seen last year, but I'm kind of curious why no one expected repeat in 2018, but basically everyone expects it now.

It isn't about the repeat its about not being embarrassed. This is embarrassing offensive ineptitude. You see that, right?

They aren't changing Hurts so you guys are just talking to talk there. They can change Patullo

While I agree Tank should get touches...wtf happened to AJ Dillon!? Guy was straight power and than completely left.

He’s the reason the left side of the line is playing on one leg. He hurt Mailata and Dickerson early in the season.

Because last year's roster was one of the best ones in a long time. It was young and primed for a nice window here to repeat a couple times. This offseason was a lousy one for Howie. Period. Results are starting to show of what I anticipated. All the warts are showing up here with lack of depth especially with the injury bug having crept up.

Sirianni is not a good coach but ppl keep defending him. If you know you're not good at play design/calling then get someone experienced; why can't FO see this? He keeps saying he's going to fix things and does nothing. How much longer are you going to waste your talent on a cheer leader coach?

Lurie is fully aware of what he is seeing, especially having participated in the 2023 debacle. I just don't think he will make a reactive decision...he seems to see things in the big picture for the most part. He won't just can people until he has a solid plan in place for replacements. With all the talent that is stockpiled, the situation should be really attractive to outside coaches.

It has been clear since the beginning of the season that Patullo wasn't the man for the job. Hurts pretty much said as much when asked preseason. They thought he would grow into the role but he hasn't.

The most obvious thing is that players have absolutely zero confidence. Not only in the play calling and play design. They aren't sure what they are doing and why. The lack of confidence has led to them to mistakes and penalties. Painful to watch.

At this point, try Loeffler and see if they can regain their confidence and execute

Sarcasm. That is the line of crap we have been fed for weeks now.

Starting to sound reminiscent if I gotta do better

The narrative used to be that Hurts didn’t pass more or with more efficacy because he didn’t need to.

Now we know he couldn’t do it and, luckily, they don’t need him to do it. Because now they need him and he’s got absolutely nothing to offer with his arm.

They somehow kept the game pretty close....but the lack of containment on cutbacks was just death today. Reed was exposed as an average athlete and Brown was completely invisible when those runners were approaching the second level of the D. It is also never a good look when the RB is always falling forward on each run...the score should have been much worse...

The only reason it stayed close is because Mr Fingernail Polish is average and they kept inexplicably passing the ball in short yardage situations

The defense didn't collapse. The defense is on the field ALL THE TIME. They kept the Eagles in this game.

They definitely collapsed today. Giving up 300 rushing yards in windy conditions when it’s tough to pass is atrocious.

I’ll give all the credit in the world to Hurts for what he does when it really matters. Both Superbowls and NFC championship games he was elite. But my God - he also really really sucks. Anyone that argues he’s a good QB at this moment is not intelligent. @RememberTheKoy will do us all proud.

He had those couple fumbles and they completely abandoned him. He will go somewhere else and play well, which happens quite often it seems.

Sirianni is not a good coach. When the Eagles don't have a great OC, they aren't good. Sirianni is coasting on the great talent Roseman gives him, and still can't deliver without two great coordinators. His record is less a result of him than everything around him.

Because we all knew 2017 was lightning in a bottle. No team wins a super bowl the way we won that super bowl, backup QB, backup LT, a bunch of guys on IR. It was not sustainable and very obvious a repeat was a long shot. That team wasn't even in the same universe as this team talent wise

It's expected now because this defense has been otherworldly up until this week (Cracks showed last week) and the offense is full of stars at the skill positions.

But going most of the year averaging 180 yards passing last year, and being propped up by a 2000 yard season rushing, along with probably the best Eagles defense not named 1991, or at the very least the best of the 2000's, that had no tape background on it, was?

Expecting a dynasty sets yourself up for disappointment 99% of the time. They're rare for a reason.

A lot can be pointed towards the Oline and playcalling/design but Hurts has not looked good this season

The O line has been horrendous this year. They are a bottom 5 group. Mailata, Jurgens and Dickerson all have been garbage.

But guys!!!

The offense is efficient and can pass when they want to! That's the only reason why Hurts was averaging under 200 yards passing!!!

The defense was so good and the run game carried the offense so we rarely played down by more than one score. As a result, the team was not put into situations of needing to pass to win. Now we have to pass to win and you see what happens.

Never have I said any of that... or even thought it. Maybe you are too young, but back in the day teams, dynasties even, won by having a great defense and dominant running game.

Next week will be nice conditions against a better defense. Our passing offense will still suck.

The wind was a much bigger factor than it appeared on TV...even Johnson mentioned the obstacles in his halftime interview...I am sure it was effecting the play calling, but it didn't matter when the run game was so effective...

Not making any change right now is giving up on this season. They can either "pull the goalie" and make a last ditch effort to right the ship with a different playcaller or let the current guy sit there and get shellacked for the rest of the game.

Yup, historically good Run game a really good D and a pass offense just a bit less inconsistent than this year.

And instead if trying to fix the pass game we get what we just watched

A 💩 show...😒

It’s why at the end of last year I said they better fix the pass offense because banking on a historic rushing attack is not a viable plan. Anybody who thought they were just gonna add another running back to keep Barkley fresh so that they could be historic run team was more hoping then realistic that it was sustainable. It really wasn’t. Not in this league with an entire offseason to figure it out.

Winning another Super Bowl the way they did in 2024 was always going to be tough to replicate. It’s even more when you needed a historic rushing attack and the best defense in the entire league. you were very unlikely to have a better defense than you did last year. So there was a regression coming there. You were also unlikely to have the type of running game you had last year. So if the passing attack didn’t get better to help make up for those regressions then you were gonna be in a world of trouble in terms of winning another SB.

I’ve said this before, Nick Sirianni’s offense is not innovative or creative. relies a lot on our talent is better than your talent and it’ll eventually come through.

Jalen hurts has his flaws, which anyone watching since the bye week sees what they are. Hurts can come up big in big games. But consistency in the passing game is not where he specializes in. it’s been 2 years and the pass offense is erratic week to week. That’s not all on patullo and Nick.

The running game is atrocious right now. That team was missing three linebackers and you still couldn’t run on them. Which tells me you run blocking is poor. Your run scheme is also poor because the runs are telegraphed. You can watch it and know where they’re gonna run too. If I can sit, watch it on the TV and I can call out run or pass, knowing when it’s coming then i know players and coaches can do it too
