You're right. Some fans this week have trashed Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis saying they haven't done ANYTHING all year.

There are always a small group of people that just are negative and over the top when the team is losing.

That is why no matter who the QB is, he would get criticism from the fan base. On some social media platforms, there are a lot of fans that support Jalen Hurts and recognize that while he does have issues and weaknesses, his OC doesn't help him at all.

I think the issue is that there’s factions in this fan base where you have to be all in and he’s the greatest Qb if you don’t believe that you are a hater. And the other side he’s not good and we need to replace him and if you don’t see it the you are blind.

This year’s been pretty hard to watch even when they are winning. Emotionally when I watch games this year it is usually frustration and anger with the offense as they have so much talent and multitude of reasons it’s being wasted. (We can have the discussion with people about how much talent they have on offense. But if you go look around the rest of the league, the Eagles are very much more talented than the majority of the league.)

I still think it as the minority. It was a louder minority. I still don’t think it was the majority. Most of the fan base knew they were moving on with wentz and believed he could get back to 2017.

If reports about Hurts are true (doesn't like QB designed runs, doesn't want to throw over the middle) then what does that say about the coaches?

If you're a Head Coach that is supposed to be a leader of men and your QB tells you he doesn't want to do things - things that analytics prove are successful - then you bench him.

Now, we've heard Hurts (and other players) complain about the OC multiple times over different seasons so that's different OCs. Take the straight jacket off, don't play to not lose. The WRs in the past said they need to be let loose to do what they do, this year AJ said let your killers do their thing (paraphrase). Multiple years the O linemen have criticized the offensive philosophy and lack of run game publicly across different OCs.

Hurts isn't the reason they're not giving Tank any carries, or keeping Cooper as a returner, or the many other things people have pointed out with evidence that are coaching issues.

If Hurts is a problem, you need to also direct criticism to the coaches who aren't doing anything about it.

We've seen Hurts make great throws, have great games, take snaps under center, throw to the middle and all the things people say he refuses to do. Experts and analysts say the OC is the problem.

It's coaching. Everything comes down to the Head Coach holding his staff and players accountable and making the necessary changes.

I really wish they would run it less anyway. Run some normal plays. Or line up for it and don't move a muscle, see if you can get the defense a penalty and if they don't, then snap and toss to Barkley.

Tbh he probably would’ve won the mvp if he didn’t get hurt that year. However Mahomes was great that year. He had 5250 yards and 41-12 TD to int (add on 4 rushing tds). however hurts was the betting favorite before he got hurt in Chicago then missed the next 2 weeks.

My wife and I booked a vacation in Mexico in March - 11/22 - 11/29. Fantastic luck! I thereby missed the Cowboys, the Bears, and UM/OSU. I would have been SO miserable. Now, not so much and, frankly, I expected all three losses.

What I now contemplate is the firing of Siri at season’s end. I’d have thought that impossible but now? Not so much. They’re worse than their record and the coaching, Fangio aside, has been execrable. It’s the same thing over and over.

As far as Michigan goes, I expected that result. OSU is more seasoned and experienced while Michigan started 6 freshmen on offense. The future is bright.

Eagles fans are harsh on literally every QB. There's a reason for the old quote "the most popular player in Philadelphia is the backup QB."

I dont think thats accurate. It probably took a while for some of us to come around on him during that season but by the end I was considering getting a jersey.

Next thing you know, Im glad I didnt get a jersey.

Same thing happened after he won the super bowl. Got the painting of him with the trophy. Considered getting a jersey. Soon as week 1 rolls around he shows me why I cant stand watching him again. Now Im very glad I didnt waste money on one of his jerseys.

Every time he puts a few weeks together and you think he is coming around as a QB, he proves again that he sucks.

However, if you go back in time, youd find a few periods where everyone was feeling much more positively about him.

Hurts contract and no trade clause means he's not going anywhere this offseason. They will hopefully get a new OC and hopefully that coach will get more input to run what works and push back on Nick. This roster can repeat as SB champions and can be a dynasty if they do it right.

If Hurts continues to struggle and isn't getting it done, then when the time comes that it's feasible contract wise - and he approves it because of the clause - they can try to trade him. But that's not happening anytime soon so the real fix is the OC.

That was near the height of Mahomes fatigue though too. Hurts was very good that year don’t get me wrong but I laughed at the mvp talk all year.

If Allen were the Eagles QB many of you would criticize these numbers, note that they won because of rushing (team 249 yards, Cook 144 yards) and defense and that the Steelers had to bring in their backup QB.

I like Allen and would be happy if he were the Eagles QB. Just pointing out that his number aren't always great either and if he were here, these same miserable people that hate our QBs would be harsh on him too.

They originally had the #8 pick. Would Howie have traded up for either Lawrence (meh), Wilson (bust) or Lance (bust)? Would he have stayed put and taken Fields (bust) or Mac Jones (bust)?

Any one of those guys would get roasted by fans more than Hurts. And they wouldn't have DeVonta Smith who they took in that draft.

The Eagles also signed Joe Flacco that year, then traded him. Perhaps he could have been a stop gap. But would they have won games? Flacco didn't do ish for 4 years, until this year all of a sudden a resurgence.

If they did that and waited until 2022 to draft a QB, the options were:

Again, each of them would be criticized just as much or more than Hurts.

Hurts isn't a great passer and we will see how things go, when the time comes that they move on from him who they replace him with. Whoever that guy is will get run out of town by the fans too. Fans criticized McNabb, Vick, Wentz, every QB. Eagles fans are never happy with the QB.

Supposedly Howie liked Wilson so despite people here whining I’m pretty happy with 2 Super Bowls and one championship in that time.

It was pretty laughable at a QB with his passing stats winning MVP. 22 passing TDs. Less than 4000 yards... It was his rushing yards and additional rushing TDs that made it seem like a great season. And yes, its an extremely weak era for QB play. Hurts has at times been a top 5, even top 3 QB, and thats just sad for the rest of the league because hes nowhere close to the actual great QBs we have seen in our lifetimes.

I would.

But Id never expect to see those numbers form him with our personnel. Id even say that with him playing in the same system we have now with the current HC/OC combo.
