I could be upset with nurse. He’s not gonna be here by the time the 76ers hopefully can get off of Paul George and Joel Embiid. The bigger issue with the 76ers is they have two contracts that are horrific. That’s taking up money to put around the young nucleus that can make them a really good team. Paul George I could at least understand. You thought with maxey, Embiid and him that it was your last remote chance at a title. Plus, it’s only a four year contract. Only 1.5 years away from being tradable

The issue with Embiid’s extension was you didn’t need to do it at that time. He was coming off a bad knee injury. He didn’t look great when he was in the Knicks series. He didn’t look great at the Olympics. And you had to know before he signed that contract and he did a physical that his knee was in the condition that it was. They should’ve never given him that extension until after last year if he showed he could hold up. That contract is immovable for at least 3 years.

Those are huge issues but there’s nothing they can do about that now. In the mean time the organization operates like the most unserious organization in pro sports. I had a friend back when I was in high school who missed like 50 days a year because he woke up with the sniffles or with a paper cut. Any excuse. That’s basically the entire Sixers team. Every night half the team gets the night off for soreness and maintenance. They aren’t remotely serious about anything as an organization. They clearly aren’t trying to win, but they aren’t tanking to try to keep their draft pick either. No plan, no nothing. Every night it’s just whoever shows up to play shows up and give it your best shot, kids!

I wish Harris would sell the team because he clearly doesn’t give a crap. Just run the Commies and give the Sixers to someone who cares.

Still trying to figure out why. They knew he was hurt (and didn’t tell us either). Feels like a Chris Bosh situation.

I almost forgot we did go out west to Seattle on MNF and face their back up when the collapse began

I went to that game. Vibes immediately thrown into wack when the news broke either the day of the game or the day before that Patricia was acting as the DC and Desai was just hanging around in a coaching box.

Harris blows, but he’s not selling the team until that stadium is finished. Once that arena is built, I think there’s a better chance because the value of the Sixers is gonna go up having that new arena. That’s when it becomes more realistic that he could sell the team.

That said, I mentioned this in the Sixers thread earlier in the year. They need a small forward or a stretch 4 to go with Maxey, VJ and Grimes. I would consider using Paul George’s salary, McCain, and the draft picks you have if there is one available that young and could be a part of your future going forward. As much as I like McCain, if you have those three other guards ahead of him and laying them it’s too much money invested in TJ guard position. Can cash in on his value when it’s high right now as he’s on a rookie contract and he does stuff that the NBA really covets. I’d only do it if it is a good young player at one of those positions who’s gonna be here for the foreseeable future.

I don’t know how they watched the Knicks series, the Olympics and still gave him a physical but thought his knee was going to hold up.

Wow what a catch by burks

as long as its not the cowboys or packers

I was so wrong when I said the buccaneers would run away with the division. I hope they win it over the buccaneers bc I think they're the better of the two.

Great one handed catch!

With a pass from Mariota who was drafted by TN.

Got some interesting developments going

We'll trade AJ back to the Titans for their next two 1sts. 🤣

I could see the eagles losing to the commanders even with mariota

Bo nix knows the white, red and yellow jerseys aren’t his teammates?

I can see them losing every game except the raiders. That's a team that's trying really hard to lose on purpose

lol

CEO coaches are not the way.

Youre on the other side of the chicken or egg debate. I know that Siri had a different offense (In Indy) before Hurts was his QB. This is the Hurts offense. We have seen OCs try things and have to stop because Hurts only runs the same limited stuff. Im sure any coaching changes, while keeping Hurts will not do a thing.

Hurts has not done well in the past because of a different OC. He has only done well when he has had a dominant run game. This OC has tried to establish the run game. Its less effective with OL injuries, and Hurts not wanting to be a threat on the ground himself.

I disagree. We’ve seen Siri’s offenses without Steichen and Moore and it’s as conservative, predictable and elementary as it gets. This isn’t patullo’s scheme this is Siri’s. Hurts has his limitations sure. But we’ve also never seen them push hurts to do more they’ve actually gone the opposite way. Example, we barely throw over the middle when hurts has flashed glimpses of being able to do it.

The clear fact is that Siri can’t evolve and grow hurts. He can’t scheme to our talent. Other OC’s have been able to do that. When he doesn’t have a strong coordinator around, he can’t do anything. That’s all I need to know to want to move on from him

Payton challenges the down by contact because the DT tripped Mariota. And he wins!

It’s an astounding thing to have a team coming off a SB win, leading the division by two games, third seed, and the HC should be fired at season’s end, but that’s where we are.

Yup...If Sirianni didn't have the 2023 debacle already on his resume, he could probably skate by....but.... 2 epic collapses, especially with the most expensive offensive roster in football in 3 years....sorry not sorry...he is toast.

Refs are so good.

Siri had Philip Rivers in his prime, who's numbers were really no different from prior coaches. He had Andrew Luck who put up huge numbers after his injury the same as he did before Siri. The year he didn't have a top QB with Jacoby Brissett, his offense went from 7th (Luck) to 25th. With Rivers it jumped back up to 10th. Siri isn't a good coach to develop a QB. He had two already established top QBs.

Hurts benefited from OCs that knew how to play to his strengths and weaknesses. Siri was designing plays for Luck & Rivers: statue pocket passers. He took this job knowing Hurts was the QB. Siri doesn't know how to fix the offense. He doesn't have Frank Reich anymore. He lost Steichen who has done good work with Daniel Jones. He lost Moore, and promoted his friend who sucks. Siri & Patullo don't have answers. Not just about the QB. The entire offense.

People say the coach is held back by the QB. That the QB needs a lot of talent around him. But we have to acknowledge that the coach needs an elite QB so he doesn't have to do much actual coaching. Hurts has looked good with a good offensive coach.
