Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Depth. IMO

I’m saying they wouldn’t just claim a guy, put someone on the current team on waivers, just to do the player they claimed a solid that they have no connection to.

He was claimed for a reason. Either because they want him or it was strategic. In either scenario they felt comfortable enough to put in the claim and deal with what consequences come. It’s no secret Slay wanted to come back. There were reports all day. The Bills know how he feels. They still put in a claim and it’s not to just play good guys.

One TE off the board before the offseason

That’s probably a good comp to close what Goedert could possibly get in FA. I guess depends how many TE’s get there. At his peak, Andrews was better. But they have been pretty similar the past 3/4 years and Andrews has had a disappointing 2025.

It's a ploy to get Jennifer Slay's pudding recipe.

They trade his release for the pudding.

Good trade for Buffalo IMO.

Does good quarterback play even matter in the NFL anymore?

1. Caleb Williams is 24th in Passer Rating, behind Michael Penix, Kyler Murray and JUSTIN FIELDS - but the Bears have the best record in the NFC

2. Brock Purdy is 26th in Passer Rating, but the 49ers are 9-4

3. Bo Nix is 32nd in Passer Rating, behind Spencer Rattler! But the Broncos are 10-2

4. Trevor Lawrence is 38th in Passer Rating, behind Tyler Shough, Davis Mills, GENO SMITH and Carson Wentz but the Jaguars are 8-4

5. Yet Goff, Dak, Mahomes, Burrow are NOT in Playoff spots right now

So what, exactly, is going on?

Is the quarterback position now being devalued in the NFL?

Adding to all that, the eagles won a super bowl with Jalen Hurts.

Seems they were ahead of the curve, accidentally, in winning on a strong run game and defense. Old school style.

It sure would be nice to have a QB in addition to the run game and defense though.

Copy cat league. The other teams saw they could win with a good OL, running game, defense and winning the TO battle. Right now, there are a lot of teams beating us at our own game.

The QB position SHOULD be devalued. It's important, but right now they're valued so high that if you have a good one (or even an average one, looking at you Purdy) you're forced to give that QB a massive contract and now you can't field a complete team.

Teams are realizing it's better to have a decent QB on a strong team than a stud on a crap team.

Always cool to see successful NFL guys have post playing careers besides being in media. Reminds me of Peanut Tillman becoming an FBI agent.

You think if he pulled you over, you tell him about the time he lost you a fantasy championship game that he’d feel bad and not give you a ticket?

Eagles currently have the qb, it would be nice to have a run gane, the eagles do not.

The interior O line is one of the worst in the league and both TEs are graded as the 2nd worst ( Calcaterra) and the 6th worst( goedert) run blockers at their position, not to mention both Mailata and Lane have regressed as well

Getting adequate QB play with a stacked roster because the QB isn't on a monster deal is creating better teams that the better, higher paid QBs on barren teams can't keep up with.

You didn’t take this past weekend into account. 4 full days, a turkey hole, and round potatoes everywhere. I broke records.

Given how vindictive I am, if I were an NFL player and I was on the final year of my career and I wanted to end my career back with a team I spent the back half of my career with and some team was a stickler about holding me hostage..... I'd report to the team, go through the week of practices, hopefully get incorporated heavily into the game plan, and then at 11 am on Sunday morning 2 hours before kickoff, I'd send in my retirement papers to the league office and announce on social media I'm retiring before telling the team. And completely F them over. And just ride off into the sunset knowing I Fed the team that Fed me.

'Cause I'll know what to wear
Though I'll be special and I'll be rare
I'll be something beyond compare
Cloudy notice because I'll wear
A smile and a ribbon in my hair.”

No, QB play just sucks right now in general. But ya know, "modern NFL” and all that

who to root for week 14 lol

Then they have to be on a draft pick contract
