Phillips spent his career surrounded by soft losers. He's going to elevate his game around these guys.

I was thinking about this yesterday. The level of talent the Eagles have on the DL is probably the best Philips has had in his career. What will be interesting if he converts pressures into sacks because the Eagles are just a better coached and organised D.

While Love was scrambling around, he back tracks at one point all the way to the 34 yard line on that play. The one important detail you continue to gloss over is the fact that the WR quit on the play and if he had not, it likely would have just been a typical 50/50 ball. The receiver would have been flagged for an illegal touch, but Love had no way of knowing that when he threw the ball.

The play resulted in an incomplete pass and turnover on downs. Many other results could have happened, but did not.

Sure. It was a great decision to throw it across the entire field directly to a defender because he knew the defender would drop it.

Surely these types of decisions will never be a problem for Jordan Love.

No one is complaining about Howie. JC. Can we stop this hyperbole?

I have him on ignore but I assume he's talking about my posts. They weren't necessarily complaints. Howie just didn't have a GM of the year kind of year. He had to prepare for the upcoming contracts and made a bunch of bandaid moves hoping they'd pan out but didn't

Yeh I am in Royse City, graduated here back in '88, married my hs girl and we're still holding it down. My kids were 4th generation RC graduates. I live about a mile from the hs and Buccees. It's just a lot different now and yeh the stadium is really nice but nothing compared to Allen, McKinney, Katy, Prosper, some have spent spend $80 million on stadiums. RC went quite a bit cheaper, as a tax payer I am thankful. The amount of money spent on football here in Texas is insane, hc coaches/AD making between $120k - $200k a year depending on the size of the district.

This was built in 2007, opened in 2009, resurfaced two years ago. Doesn't seat anything close to 12k, more like 8500.

There is nothing like playing on natural grass though...the smell, the mud when rains. Our society is so freaking spoiled.

My grandparents lived in a small town in South Texas. The football stadium sat more people than lived in the town.

I don't think many would deny that Love has a handful of really dumb throws, as he had an earlier INT in that game that he moon balled and threw right to a defender, but on that 4th and 8 play, I don't think he throws that ball if it's 3rd down. You being so hung up on it being a bad throw is silly because you're just ignoring the down and position they're in. If he had pulled a Mr. Unlimited and threw it out of the back of the end zone, you'd probably argue why he didn't keep it in bounds to at least give a player a chance 😅

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the guy doesn’t realize there’s only dozens of active members now vs hundreds (thousands on game days) when the board was with the Eagles.

The blog itself isn’t the reason for less activity in other sections/topics. The blog has also (somewhat) decreased in activity since the Eagles days - and that’s to be expected.

Message boards in general are beginning to take a back seat to other forms of social media like twitter, instagram, live streams, podcasts etc

That said - there isn’t a better place than the EMB for fans like us to express our opinions, imo - and within the EMB, the Blog is the best place for that as well.

There was nothing in the blog that has ever compared to the TO drama. The FA mess was so fascinating as it unraveled in here. There were 300-400 in the Blog thread on those days, and the announcement of the trade ( Thrash and a 5th) literally shut down the website. There was a particular poster in here who was a lawyer and he broke down the NFLPA contract language so clearly...everything was going completely against the media narrative. I actually wrote to Skip Bayless about how wrong everyone was and he included my email in his next day's column.

Am I taking crazy pills or what?

Did you watch the play??? He threw it across the entire field directly to a defender who had 100 yards of field in front of him. It was a horrible, inexcusable throw given the down, distance, and score.

Again, this wasn't a 50/50 ball which I would have understood. This was a 0/100 ball. The receiver was out of bounds and it was thrown directly at the other team. Literally a sack or a throw out of bounds would have been better than what he chose to do and any coach in America would agree.

Go watch the play. It was literally the dumbest thing he could have done.

I have only watched 12 min of bball so far but I thought maybe they will figure it out based of what Edgecombe said about "having the big guy back there." Just felt like they have pieces and will work it out. I mean he is Joel Embiid, FFS, flaws and all. Should be able to make this work?

They have to play two different styles with/without Embiid. With Embiid it's bring it up slow, wait for Embiid, run a two man game and settle for a jumper or 3 pointer near the end of the shot clock. Without, it's more up and down, better ball movement, more guys involved. Embiid is a good scorer, good in the 1st half when he has legs, but is a ball stopper as he tuckers out and can't get into the offensive zone until there are 15 seconds or less on the shot clock. He isn't a finisher right now and Nurse needs to coach to that. Also, Nurse can't keep playing Maxey 42+minutes a game. But Nurse is known for running his stars into physical submission.

Packers were obviously embarrassed by the Panthers loss. They also want revenge for us ending their season. The Chiefs and Rams also wanted Revenge this year. This is a very important "Tiebreaker" game for standing purposes. The Eagles are coming back healthy with more ammo. I like our chances on Monday night. The Eagles have won their last 3 games against the Packers.

The good ole days and in those days there would have been a thread about Jordan Love's throw and it would have been moved to Around the NFL. Good times

Howie won 2 Super Bowls (and went to a 3rd) with two completely different Teams, QB's and Head Coaches, that automatically makes him better. Morey hasn't won squat and to give Embiid that last extension, for an aging, injured player automatically makes him a complete moron and disqualifies him from even sniffing Howie's dirty crusted undies.

No. They all have a certain level of "ESP" in them, where they throw out ridiculous takes so that people will call in to argue with them. Most of them are professional trolls.

That's a reversal - it used to be the WIP folks who would reign in the far out, half drunk, hot takes and be somewhat informative. Now, it's the responsibility of the callers? Holy moly.

And they didn't even build it correctly. $60 million to build, 2 years later they had to shut it down for almost 2 years because of structural issues before it reopened.

The saturation of the market has caused a lot of these fools to try to get noticed. I don't believe ESP is actually nearly the idiot that he protrays himself to be with his hot takes. He might actually be a secret genius, because he always seems to find the most moronic take and then finds a way to try to justify it. And he is a great actor as well, he really sells that this is what he thinks.

You might be, I don't know your daily regimen.

You go watch the play. His WR was in bounds before he releases that ball and Love signals him to go right as he's throwing up a 50/50 ball, but instead the WR gives up on the play because he allowed himself to go out of bounds and then makes an effort once he realizes the ball is going to get picked off. Also, I highly doubt the DB would've ran it back even if he had caught it, because 87 was there to make the tackle right as he dropped it.

Correct, they ended up taking action against the contractor because the mezzanine had cracks in the concrete.

Forgive my lack of knowledge of the history of the EMB, but in reading a few comments this morning here it seems as though this board was a spinoff of a community that was run by the PHI organization originally? Is there a history overview of how the current EMB came about? Maybe I am misunderstanding a couple of comments.

Cliff's Notes: This MB is almost an exact clone of a Message Board we had on philadelphiaeagles.com on the team site. The Eagles, for all the things they do well, notified us that they were shutting the board down and go use Reddit. @VaBeach_Eagle saved us all from that purgatory and actually created this site.
