EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

I don't see this happening anytime soon. GMs will throw a fit...if your team has a need and someone comes available you claim them they either come play or they retire. I mean how many times has this really even been a concern across 32 teams in the last 20-30 years. This is an edge case.

I think it’s more that the players union will fight for it with players who’ve accrued 10+ seasons or more.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Whose going to listen to a retired guy who never even played in Buffalo?

I also doubt it's that deep for him if he doesn't get his way

Players love Slay. That matters.

I am not saying it's not worth pursuing, but when it impacts the competitve nature of the game(s) and possibly the season outcomes ownership is not going to like it. As you say though, maybe it can be a bargaining chip for the owners. You scratch my back I'll scratch yours kinda thing. I do feel like players that have played that long in the league should get some special considerations, I just don't think this is a hill to die on for the NFLPA.

Watching Hard Knocks

Sirianni is exhaustingly preachy

Remember this is the curated version of him too.

So what changes do we actually expect - if any - to see Monday night?

Patullo will allow the fans to call one play per drive.

Well, I'm a glutton for punishment. Got my tickets for Monday night.

I think it’s minor enough that owners probably would concede if they got something they also wanted. Most players released at this point in the season that have 10+ seasons played aren’t why they once were and aren’t changing the landscaping drastically at this stage.

"Being sent home" sounds a little melodramatic. I'd assume he's being released. Otherwise, sending him home makes zero sense. Wasting a roster spot on a dude sitting on his couch playing PS5.

FWIW

Welp.

It was a helluva run fellas...

Time for Ty Robinson to shine baby!

JK, they will just give all the snaps to Byron Young.

Well, hopefully Ty Robinson has a pulse.

Yes, we need more exciting whites.

Is it just to delay inevitable surgery?

Metlife may finally change.

Really insane this hasn’t been the standard for decades

It wasn't surgery. Schefter reports it was therapy. Whatever that means. The question is whether or not this is soreness or inflammation or needs surgery. McLane said that last year's increased workload contributed to the shoulder issues so that makes is sound like it wasn't an actual injury and is wear and tear. But who knows, his phrasing could be misleading.

To the grave?

There you go @jojodancer

Kinda think this makes the Bills more unwilling to let Slay go though

Lol therapeutic intervention. For Pete's sake just say what it is.

It's like they think if thy give it away, the opposing OL will know the precise weaknesses on the body and give him a Vulcan death grip or something. They already said both shoulders

@mattwill

Eagles - 17

Chargers - 24

Bonus: Chargers rush for 150+

No Carter has a huge impact on this game. Eagles cant stop the run and Young gets pushed back at least 5 yards every snap he plays. Its a game where the O will need to step up and once again they struggle as they have all year with the couple of drives where they look good sprinkled in.

One thing about Herbert he has always played through a bunch of tough injuries over the years. I think he is one guy who would play through this. Season is on the line. They have a 60% chance of making playoffs right now. Don't think they want Trey Lance to ruin those chances.

If Herbert sits out. It's all over for the Eagles. 😜

They are getting gashed this game. Unfortunately.

I look at it the opposite. Lance can't throw. With Herbert you don't know what is coming and the Chargers have a solid WR group. Harbaugh can run the ball 45 times with a semi-injured Herbert. Ty Robinson has shown nothing. I hope I am wrong and he at least shows promise. I would consider Ta'Quon Graham from the practice squad. He has real NFL experience and many starts. Much more experience than Robinson and Hall combined. Is he any good? Don't know but the Eagles need to get this decision right.
