If Howie can save Miles Garrett somehow and bring him to Da Birds he can hire Cam Newton for OC for all I care. 🤣 That defense would be ridiculous.

Save Miles Garrett? He is the one that signed that contract with the Browns when he didn't have too. He is way to expensive for the Eagles now. Let him rot in Cleveland for making such a stupid decision.

If he saves him for free that is...otherwise I don't care about his suffering, he has chosen it willingly...

I'm not saying this tweet is risible horseshit but he's spelt Weis' name wrong and after the visible bit in the picture it claims that Lane Johnson was calling plays for Ole Miss while Charlie was there.

I say again Charlie Weis has never made sense to come here, he started coaching under his Dad and for the rest of his career he's been positional coach or not calling plays for Lane Kiffin's scheme. he's like Eric Bienemy he's getting buzz for coordinating someone else's offense.

He's got no playcalling experience and the only time he's been near an NFL coaching staff is one year as an offensive assistant at the Falcons eight years ago.

The absurd irony in all of this is that Howie/Lurie were completely neutering Siriani and turning the entire offense over to the OC. And Siriani, to keep his job, was willingly rolling over and going with it.

And because no one wants the job, they might actually HAVE to make Siriani run the offense.

Sirianni isn't a QB coach. Hurts has been in the league six years. If the guy can't throw a basic timing route half consistently after being in the league six years, that's not really a head coaching problem of all things. It's like saying that WR coaches in the NFL should be teaching people how to catch. That should be handled at the QB coach level at the VERY most, OCs shouldn't even have to address that.

I disagree. He has limitations but film, mechanics, play design, coaching to his strengths. These are things a coach with an offensive background should address without question. If you remove hurts from the equation. Who else has Siri developed? Where’s his coaching tree? Our issue is more the HC than anything else on this team

If they get someone with minimal experience, he’ll have to be involved…

Broncos took a $85 million dead cap hit for Russell Wilson, taking $53 million in 2024 and $32 million in 2025. They still made it to the AFC Championship game, and probably had a good shot to make it to the SB if Nix wasn't injured.

If I'm reading it right, Hurts is around $45 million dead cap next offseason. Carson Wentz was $34 million in 2021, the largest single season dead cap ever recorded back then.

I think it honestly shows a lot about how people feel about either the city, the QB, or the fact that some articles went out on Sirianni for the situation after 2023. But I really wonder if they're looking to do something really weird. Is it really that no one at all wanted the job? I mean, listen.

I'm not exactly Jalen's biggest fan, and people know why. I think timing is ESSENTIAL to letting NFL schemes benefit you. However, even I don't think that it's this bad. Same with Sirianni, coaches are obviously going to look at him better than the fans here, it's not THIS bad. When you look at recent Eagles history though even when they were hiring Doug and stuff, this exact situation showed up, and I don't get why at all.

You have to wonder if they had two goals when interviewing. This is a lot of data to gather, you know? If their goal was to bring in someone to fix the offense, and to give over control, why would they need all this data? The question even was about the last year of offense, according to the reports, so it was...gathering data on an offense that would be about ready to be thrown out? I find it fascinating. I think the potential that they try to solve the problem with a sustainable collaborative offense model is...likely on the table. And believe it or not, this has worked before - though not necessarily at the NFL level. I distinctly remember the Michigan State No Fly Zone defense having co-defensive coordinators. Idea wise, it's not impossible as long as Lurie is willing to put out the money.

But I'll tell you one thing. If that's actually what happens, success or fail, we have to give Lurie credit for one thing. He's willing to do whatever is necessary to win.

Man, this can't be happening. Should have just moved on from him at the end of season.

Some of us joked about it last week, I really don't see it happening tho, but in the absence of info, can see why people are thinking that way.

Involved =\= running the offense.

Cooter feels like the opposite of where they started this process. He's essentially an upgrade over Patullo in the same genre. It's clear that's not what they wanted. Again anything can work in theory but it would seem like a failed process. There were 14 OC openings and this is the only one he got a look for.

I’ll be the Hitch play coordinator. Gotta be the highest paying job on the team!

F all that tough, detailed, together crap!

I still think they want to interview someone from Hawks or Pats so we're going to be waiting for a bit

Thomas Brown on the Pats makes sense as a candidate. But worth waiting for I'm not so sure. Especially if you don't know that he's the guy

Kelce unintentionally speaks on the diafunction of the Eagles organization and how it there are leaks by people inside the organization just trying to make themselves look better by blaming someone else.

The leaks in the eagles organization are a result of them being overly controlling on who can talk to the media when. You notice local media never has info. It's not because they stink it's because the Eagles don't act like other organizations and give intel to locals. The Howie control is something that turns candidates off. We've seen it in HC cycles before

Wrong about him not having play calling experience. At the very least Weiss was calling plays all year Ole Miss - and looked good doing it. Not sure about last year.

That’s why it was so important for them having him around for the playoffs after Lane bailed. They mentioned it a bazilllion times during the broadcasts and all the Lane drama articles.

If the offense this year was just functional we would have went deeper into the playoffs. With this defense Cooter from The Dukes of Hazard could be our oc and we could win.

Jake Peetz is the one, he was pass game specialist for the Rams and now pass game coordinator for the Seahawks he coached a 4000yard season with franchise record completions and yards out of Geno Smith and then beat them a year later with Sam Darnold, he coached Derek Carr to two pro bowls and Teddy Bridgewater to a career year in Carolina. He has a record with QB's that the league isn't sold on that really stands out, he knows McVay's pro style offense and has OC'd at top end college level (LSU) so can sprinkle in spread concepts as well. There were strong rumors the Lions were looking at him for their OC position.

If you are still looking for a reason to shitcan Sirianni, this is it.

This just seems like a terrible idea
