I doubt the Eagles trade Carter but I do wonder if they are as eager to extend him as everyone assumed

I hope this is just some public negotiating tactic and nothing more. Accept a deal or we will ship you off to a NFL wasteland.

I’m against trading Carter but the writing is on the wall there that it’s possible. Between the rumored Parsons package last year, the mental issues, and Davis/Ojomo coming up on their terms, I could see it. Davis did everything right to earn an extension here. He dropped weight, had a positive impact on the locker room, and played well this year.

Also, not giving Carter a mega deal opens up a lot of other avenues cap wise.

If Howie feels Carter is a mental risk and doesn't want to extend him, I'd rather pursue options that don't only last 2-3 years like MC would. Get a haul of picks, get a young tackle, get a young dominant CB, etc.

How many young dominant CBs do we need? We already have more than any other team in the league.

Trading Carter only makes sense if the shoulders are damaged goods long-term.

or if he has off-field issues only Lurie/Dom/Howie know about

Looking at the roster, CB2 is the most pressing need to me. You can't have a weak link there. I'd rather sign one in FA or use a high pick, but I'm not in favor of trading a kid in his prime for an asset that they'd only get 2-3 years out of like MC. I want someone young and one of the best in the game to let him go was the main point or a haul of picks more than the Jets got.

I think Fangio handled it very well with his scheme last year and that was without a competent CB2. You don't need another dominant CB, just a quality average to above average starter.

Agree, but again, if they are trading Carter I'd rather it be an asset they'd get more than 2-3 years out of was the point. If that's a player, cool. If it's picks, awesome. As far as corner I have no problem with them drafting one in the first if they rank him above any of the OL left.

Where’s all the Myles Garrett trade rumors this offseason?!!

I like Crosby but his value isn’t worth what you are going have to pay with him being 29. Plus he had a knee injury that required surgery. I’d love to have him at the right price which isn’t going to be what the raiders are asking for and his market.

I doubt it is just his injuries. It could be his work ethic.

Tbh honest i think this report is more parson came out said what he did about Carter. eagles linked with crosby that the reporter made a rumor people would believed based off parsons and eagles interest in Crosby

Those damn hackers releasing goodbye statements

Bucky Brooks said he has a friend who is an NFL WR coach and his red star player this year is Antonio Williams. He’s your guy, right?

Eh... not really. He just looks solid. But he seems to get no RAC yards.

I can see the eagles liking him considering they may be looking for guys with inside outside versatility like Green Bay is full of.

But there's a lot of guys like that in the draft.

Williams doesnt stand out to me. Hes just ok.

I have no problem with that but get a haul/stud young asset back

It's dumb. He's a generational player. You collect blue chip players not trade them away, especially in their mid 20s.

Jalen Carter in Las Vegas? What would go wrong?

Never heard of James Nagle but now I at least know to completely disregard his opinion if I come across his tweets in the future.

Probably not

The Georgia Eagles!

Kelee Ringo: at best ST player, bum corner, won't get a new contract, may be cut

Nolan Smith: decent Edge, injury concerns, may not get a new contract especially if Phillips re-signed

Nakobe Dean: injury concerns, may walk as a free agent

Jalen Carter: shoulder concerns, penalty/attitude concerns, rumored to be on trading block two seasons in a row

That leaves you with:

It comes down to them thinking he's not worth the extension and they could be right if they have mental concerns or about his shoulders. Bottom line trading him for a 29 year old guy coming off an injury is something most of us should be able to agree on being a bad move.

Well they would be separated in years for contracts not coming up for giant paydays at the same time...that's how you stay stocked and competitive.
